Naturally, the day started like any normal day. Jocelyn Turpin awoke that morning not rested at all, dressed, and went down to the Great Hall for breakfast. She had lost her appetite days ago and oftentimes had to force herself to eat some bread and drink some juice. She was losing herself into a depression that she couldn't talk her way out of and it was taking a toll on her health, mentally and physically. She was getting paler and sickly by the day. She had bags under her eyes from not sleeping and she didn't care to make herself look good anymore. In all honesty, she was just trying to stay alive.
With the half empty glass of orange juice in front of her and an empty plate, she received the morning paper. She dreaded the paper most mornings and today confirmed her worst fears. On the front page was a picture of her father and the headline: WIZENGAMOT JUDGE TO BE TRIED AS A RAPIST She read the story in a frantic blur. It told the story of the rape, the illegitemate child, the divorce, the trial, what his sentence will be when it's over, everything that she never wanted anyone to know. And who was the main source? Her own mother. Now that the divorce was finalized, she had no claim as to what happened to him now. They had had a prenuptial agreement that allowed her half of his net worth if they were to divorce and a fairly large house in the city as well. She folded up the paper and hid it under the table as she took a few deep breaths. She looked around at the other tables and noticed that they had their papers too and a few of them were even looking at her, whispering behind their hands.
She was terrified. She didn't know what to do. Things were out of hand and she couldn't take it anymore. Her world was crashing down around her and now everyone knew what was happening. Everyone knew that her father was the rapist of a Muggle woman while his wife was in bed with their child, and had managed to keep it a secret for almost 17 years. In that time, he became a successful judge and now everything was coming down on his head. And hers. She felt their eyes on her and their voices talking about her and her parents. She ran. She got up from the bench and walked out of the Great Hall. She didn't know where to go. By lunch, everyone would know what she had been hiding.

It was normal for Petra to skip breakfast since she rather study but today she need some food. She had woken up early that day with her tummy rumbling and smiling. She hasn’t smiled in weeks since of the drama with her and Trevent. She took a quick shower and did her morning routine. She didn’t spend that much time in making herself pretty but add a little eye liner and lip gloss. She needed down stairs.
She walked into the great hall and found it was as noisy as ever. She looked at the different tables looking for the cause of all the whispers and excitement. She stop at her brother table and pick up a newspaper. It had WIZENGAMOT JUDGE TO BE TRIED AS A RAPIST on the head lines. “So this was the cause of all the excitement.” She thought to herself.
She looked at her house table and saw Jocelyn sitting by herself. She walked to where Jocelyn was sitting and sat by her. The girl looked like she hadn't sleep in days. "Hey Jocelyn." She said in a whisper. "Hey do you want to go somewhere were its quieter." She ask full of concern. The girl looked like she could break any minute.

Samuel Pierce had thought that his life as he had known it would change in merely a few days, he was in for a surprise. His life changed overnight. That morning, he had awoken with the desire to speak with his mother. His conversations with his mother were always very amusing, and it brightened him up, no matter what. Smilingly, Samuel went downstairs towards the Great Hall, when he found everyone staring at him. It was most unusual, for he was never stared at. He could even hear hushed whispers. What was all that about?
Someone was reading the Daily Prophet, and he caught a glimpse of himself on the front page. What the... Merlin? What was he doing in the front page of the Prophet? Muttering an apology, he just grabbed the paper, and read the article as fast as one could. Once he'd finished reading it, he'd dropped the paper. His.. his father was found. The bastard who'd raped his mother, and fathered her. Immediately he felt his anger rise, this was not justice for him, or for his mother, who had to suffer so much because... of that vile, wretched brute!
He marched towards the Slytherin table, and asked where this Jocelyn girl was. Someone pointed to the girl who'd just ran out of the hall. Samuel mumbled a hasty thanks as he rushed after this girl.. his half-sister by blood. "Jocelyn Turpin!" he cried out, in a notion to stop her. He thrust the newspaper that he'd grabbed from the floor into her face, and asked, "Is this true?" And in a louder voice, which made him seem more dangerous, "Is this article TRUE?" Samuel was furious now, blind with fury. He did not know where it came from, was it pent up feeling, or what, he didn't know. All he knew was he was extremely angry at discovering such a thing from the Daily Prophet!!

Needless to say, she didn't get very far. She had the feeling that someone was following her out of the Great Hall, as well as the growing feeling of people watching her. She felt herself growing cold and burning at the same time. She heard Petra's voice behind her and actively ignored her. What did she know about this kind of stuff? All she had ever heard come from Petra's mouth was about how her boyfriend left her because she was with another guy.
And then, her name was called from behind her. She wanted to ignore it, but couldn't bring herself to do so. She turned around to find a paper being shoved in her face. She didn't know who was behind it, but she assumed that this was the beginning. People were going to taunt her, abuse her, and do horrible things to her. She braced herself for whatever was going to come after this. It was Sam. Jocelyn knew that this was going to happen at some point in time and never would have wanted it to happen in public. This should've been a private thing, but thanks to her own mother it was now a common knowledge. "I'm sorry to say that it's true. If you read the article carefully, you would have noticed that my own mother gave all of the information. Which she got straight from...him," she said quitely, a large contrast to his yelling. Even after the situation was publicly known, she was still desperate to keep it quiet.

Samuel Pierce’s goal in life had always been to find out the identity of the ruthless and savage creature who raped his innocent mother and impregnated her. Nonetheless, he was at a disadvantage; as his mother did not know who robbed her of her innocence and deprived her of every happiness in life, save for motherhood. Dr. Marina Pierce was a great woman. She never harboured any resentment towards Samuel for the way he’d been conceived. Even if her parents had disowned her, and her boyfriend, who was soon going to become her fiancé broke up with her; she’d never hated the fact that Sam was the product of her rape. In fact, she’d loved him with all her might and energy. She had made Sam the reason why she lived. Due to that reason alone, she could overcome such a huge trauma in her life, and made something better off it; by helping other victims such as herself, she was indeed doing a great work. And now, eighteen years later, his mother’s worst nightmare revealed himself, rather was revealed by none other than his wife.
Samuel didn’t know how he would break this to his mother, who had finally begun doing something for her own. He sincerely prayed that this won’t bring his mother back to her shell, where she refused to acknowledge her feelings for her best friend Dr. Aubrey Hudson. He also feared that the wizard reporters might not be as sympathetic towards her situation, and ask her questions which she wouldn’t want to answer, or which would make her feel uncomfortable. Samuel’s mind was half focusing on Jocelyn, and most of it was just worried about his mother, after all she was all that he had. It was Jocelyn’s words that brought him out of his anxieties, and he froze upon hearing them. At first, he had reacted without thinking, and lost her temper, while she was not to blame, as she was as innocent as he. Her calm, forceful words made him realize that it hurt her more than she let on. It was possible that her entire world had turned upside down, and that too by his own mother. He did not sympathise Joseph Turpin, for he deserved what he got; but Jocelyn’s mother… how could she do that to her own daughter?! “What?!” He blurted out; “.. But why would she do that?” He fixed his gaze on her, while softly speaking, “I… I’m sorry.”

She was a little concerned that he was concerned. He didn't seem angry anymore, like he had just turned the switch off and gone back to whatever his normal was. This scared her more than anything. Her father was the same way. He blew up for a minute and then suddenly went back to concerned and caring all the time. It was frightening that Sam was the same way and that everything could really be terrible in a matter of seconds. She wondered how much more he was like their father. It was weird thinking 'their father' rather than 'my father' and she didn't like it. Yes, she had always wanted a sibling, but not like this. She resented him. She wanted him to go away and never come back. The both of them, Sam and their father. And Sorin would come back so she had someone to talk to.
She wondered how her mother could've done this as well. She was never a spiteful woman as far as Jocelyn could remember. But she was a secretive and private person, so there was a lot of things that went on behind closed doors. "She's for her own gain. Everything failed and she saved herself," she answered. Her mother had received half of the net worth of her father, half of the property, and her own townhouse in London. She was very well off for a newly divorced witch and it was all that she really cared about. Let everything else fall into it's place, including Jocelyn. It was likely that she would go and be with her during the summer holidays and for a little while after school ended. "Nothing to be sorry about, the damage is done and you didn't intend for this to happen," she added.

In all his life, Samuel Pierce had only his mother, and Aubrey. They were all that he had, his only family. They had showered Sam with love, and never made him feel unwanted, especially after he'd come to know the truth behind his conception. Even if he was an illegitimate child, Samuel knew for sure that his mother loved him so much that she would never even think of doing such a thing, that his new half-sister's mother had done. This only made Sam wonder if Jocelyn's mother, loved her or not. And if she didn't, how could she not? Jocelyn was a nice girl, from what he'd heard and seen, and definitely someone her parents would be proud of and love her unconditionally. He was merely appalled that someone could actually be so selfish that she'd subject her child to such a torture.
It was not in Samuel's nature to hate anyone, he just steered clear from those females who... were excessively girly, and he feared he'd be far too much like his father, losing control, and all that. Yet, Sam was always on a watchout for girls, making sure none of them really got into the trouble his mother had, for that was a trauma that never ended throughout one's life. He blinked when his half sister said what she said. "That's supposed to make it alright? You're her only daughter, for heaven's sake!" Exclaimed he. He really found it preposterous that someone could be self involved to this extent. Yes, he was content that the rapist for a father was found and punished, and he was still having mixed feelings about his 'half-sister', but what her mother did was wrong, absolutely wrong. "Of course I didn't. I wouldn't mind hurting that bastard," he said, in reference to their father, "Sorry, but that's how I feel about him. However, it's not fair that you've to be the one who's the most affected of all."
