[/size]Ruffling her hair, pouting, smiling, winking, every action was calculated. Everything may have looked so easy, but it was easier said than done. Having ten people watch you, correct each movement, analyze and throw constructive criticism at you, was much harder to take than it would seem. Anastasia Rosalie Dolohov had been in the modelling industry for over ten years, and yet, she still found it difficult to give the photographers what they wanted. Some wanted sexy, others wanted innocent, sometimes both. People under estimated her job, thinking she got paid to look pretty, part true, however it was all about calculating angle’s, being given a vision and putting yourself in the picture, literally.
Slipping on her dress over her lingerie, Anastasia grinned at her assistant for the day, “Some day, huh?” An incredibly stressful and unusually long day. These days weren’t common for Ana, she usually got the job finished within an hour or so, depending on what the photographer wanted. The photographer she had been assigned to had been a right pain in the backside, continuously pointing out her flaws, trying to bring her down. Nothing could get Anastasia down, not now. Except…Turning to look at her reflection in the mirror, her hand caressed her cheek gently, afraid of causing anymore damage. Due to the make-up and a temporary spell, the bruise had been covered up for the last few hours, only now was it beginning to reveal itself. “Yes, I’m exhausted. Now I have to go home and look after a three year old,” The younger assistant exclaimed, wiping away the beads of cold sweat that formed on her forehead, “Do you have children?” The assistant continued, curiosity dripping from her voice. Thinking about the question as she allowed the golden loose curls to fall around her face and shoulders, she turned her attention to the other woman, “I wouldn’t call them children. I have a son who’s eighteen, and my youngest is fifteen. They never gave me much bother in their younger years, that was only because I took time off modelling to care for them. When they where old enough, my mother or the nanny used to keep an eye on them when I returned back to work.” Ana informed her with a smile as she grabbed her handbag and both left the changing room.
Leaning against the entrance door to the manor, Anastasia hesitated, debating on whether she should enter the premises or not. What if he was home? If he was, would he be in a bad mood? Would he hit her again? So many questions flooded through her mind as she looked down at the gold key. Chewing on her glossy lower lip, Ana pushed the key through the keyhole and opened the door quietly. She’d rather not bring any attention to herself, the quieter she could be, the less chance of her husband hearing her. Closing the door behind her, she glided towards with kitchen, trying not to let the heel of her shoes come in contact with the lavish wooden floor, avoiding the echo of the heels.
Looking down at the house-elf, Mrs. Antonin Dolohov arched a perfectly shaped brow, “I’d like a strong coffee,” She finally decided before lifting an apple and beginning to eat it. Taking a seat, she watched the house-elf, who over the years had become a fond companion of Ana’s, get on with it’s daily chores. It amazed her how those poor little creatures could work such long hours without a single complaint. Anastasia had freed two of her previous house-elves in the past, earning a long beating from Antonin, but somehow, she believed that a few cuts and bruises, that would fade it time, was nothing compared to the freedom of those poor souls.
Once the cup of coffee was handed to her, a smile formed on her lips and she took a sip, “Perfect, as always.” She complimented the little creature, who seemed to be delighted with the friendly words. How could they possibly be so grateful for something so small, after years of abuse and violence? The thought only made Ana think of her situation. Here she was, married to an abusive man, father to her children and she was still hanging around. Was that the right choice, or should she have left when she could’ve, took her children with her and fled. It was a question that replayed on her mind constantly.
Moving to her feet Anastasia look down at her house-elf, “Let me help,” She insisted, taking the knife off the elf and beginning to chop the vegetables. “Has my husband been home?” Her tone was casual, as if trying to make conversation, but really, she had just been curious to know if Antonin lurked in the manor. “No mistress, master has not returned home today.” A sigh of relief left her lips as she continued to chop, wondering if her husband, or any of her family for that matter, would return home.
