Failure was something that Anton didn't take well. It was something that he was sooner or later going to have to accept. The only thing was, this was the most important part of his life, something that he could not fail. Jack Riddle was still walking the Earth, free to attack whomever he pleased. Kelsey was gone, in his clutches again, Dom was sure to be following. Jack had succeeded in taking Anton out of the picture like he planned, and now all Anton could do was dream. Dream about the love of his life and protecting her, since he could no longer do it in living form.
Anton lay in his hospital bed, not breathing, not moving. Just still. He was in a coma, no one really knowing when he would wake up. Anton had failed to accomplish his task; killing Jack Riddle. The only place it had gotten him was in this hospital bed, not breathing, not moving, just still. His injuries were too extensive for him to be conscious, and the last thing he had seen before he drifted off into his sleep was Fleur, Dom's mother, walking into the Green Dragon Pub after Anton was attacked. He had broken his arm, his shoulder, almost every rib, he had deep gashes across his broad back that refused to heal. He had hit his head several times, his face was hardly recognizable, and cuts could be seen everywhere else. His injuries weren't healing, and the people at St. Mungo's couldn't figure it out. If Anton was awake, he could tell them why. Injuries inflicted by Jack Riddle healed extremely slowly.
Anton hadn't woken up in nearly a week. His bedside constantly had someone next to it, and the longer he lay there, the worse his dreams got.
He could see only a blinding light as he drifted off. The only thing he saw amidst the broken glass and debris were his fiancee's mother's shoes, and then her hands as she got down next to him, trying desperately to keep him awake. Then he was gone. He was with Dom, sitting by the Lake in the blazing sun, laughing and having a great time. And then, Jack appeared on the shore. His wand was drawn and when he showed up, the clouds rolled in and a thunderstorm was shortly behind. Wind whipped through everything and a sudden burst of green light lit up the shore. Anton had no time to react and when he looked in the direction of Dom, he found her lying on the ground, eyes wide open, but not moving. All he could do was stand there, looking at her in complete disbelief. She was gone. And then Jack disappeared.
Despite his dreams, Anton's body continued to be in its current state. The worst part was, he didn't realize that they were dreams, they were so life-like that he believed them and his body was perfectly happy keeping him in the illusion. He was doomed to continue on in his nightmares until his lifeless body was ready to house his mind once more.

Plagued. That's what Robert LeBlanc was. He was plagued with guilt, anger, sadness, and some bittersweet happiness somewhere. Just a short week ago, aside from a small tantrum, Robert was actually happy with the direction most things were going. It had been safe to say he was on the road to recovery. He had accepted the fact that Anton was marrying Dominique Weasley, he offered to give Kelsey the real wedding she deserved, he promised to quit drinking, and was working on fixing his severed marriage, and patching the relationship with his children. Oh yes, let's not forget - he was no longer a loyal Death Eater. That's a lot of changes for one man to do. It wasn't something that was going to happen over night. With enough time, things would fall into place - or so he thought.
Robert sat in the corner of his eldest son's room, slumped in a chair. His eyes were fixed to the floor, with his thumb and forefinger pressed to his temple, and his hand shielding his weary eyes. It had been nearly a week since he actually slept last. For the past seven days, he'd gone back and forth between St. Mungo's and Hogwarts over a million times. The silence of the room killed him. The fact that he couldn't hear Anton breathing - killed him. Robert knew that Anton wasn't dead. He couldn't be, he was a vampire. They don't just die this easily, could they? The Healers claimed it would be a miracle if Anton pulled through this. Of course, it had been shared with them that Anton was a vampire - otherwise he could have been pronounced dead. All they could do was wait.
Robert dozed off in his chair. The only sleep he'd get was from dozing off. He kept thinking about everything, which led to nasty dreams, which led to waking him up rather quickly. This particular time was when he first got the news that Anton was in the state he was in.
Robert was sitting at his desk, actually working. To be honest, he was budgeting money around. After all, he now had a wedding to contribute to, and one he was planning on paying for entirely. He knew, with Mandy's help, neither were going to be cheap. For once, he didn't care about that either. Robert just wanted both Anton and Kelsey to be happy...just as long as he didn't go into debt. He believed, if he used his safe account - that secret account he had kept in case of divorce - he could comfortably afford both, without going into such debt. Thank Merlin for that.
A small, fast flying owl flew into the window, dropped a letter on his desk, and flew away just as quickly. It almost appeared to Robert that this letter appeared from thin air, as he hadn't seen the owl until the last second, as it left a feather behind. Puzzled, Robert opened the letter, wondering what it could possibly be about. He hoped it wasn't another fretting parent. Robert had to read the letter four times before believing it. At first, he thought it was just some sick joke. After the fourth time, he realized it wasn't.
Mrs. Fleur Weasley had sent Robert the most urgent letter. It quickly stated that something terrible had happened to Anton - some sort of duel - and he was in St. Mungos, unresponsive to anything. There were no other details, other than he was needed right away.
Robert's world literally stopped spinning. His mind was blank for several moments full of denial. It took him several more moments to scrap his mind together, alert the Deputy Headmistress that a family emergency came up, and he was needed at St. Mungo's. He gave her the reins and wasn't sure when he would return.
Anton and missed his father actually cry a second time. Once the story of what happened was directed to Robert, something in him really snapped. Although, many details were left out, as no one really knows what happened. This had Jack Lestrange written all over it. That's what made this LeBlanc snap. For reasons still unknown, Lestrange was hurting his family - the family he desperately wanted to keep together. Robert now wanted Lestrange's head on a platter. Easier said than done.
Robert had been here, in this exact chair, for a straight forty-eight hours. He had barely moved a muscle since he sat down. He hadn't eaten or drank anything. Robert felt numb from head to toe and was pretty sure he was. Anton had many visitors - though Robert was only allowing family to see him. Just him, his wife, Kelsey, Vince, Dominique, and her parents really. Others had heard, the story that Anton was in St. Mungo's flew through Hogwarts like a wild fire. He, however, refused to let any student leave Hogwarts, other than his other two children and Dominique.
He felt his head nod, which snapped him awake immediately. Robert looked up at Anton's lifeless body, thinking he might have missed something. No, he was the same. He sighed, both relieved but unrelieved, and sat back in his chair. Robert's hands went to been limp noodles in his lap, his mind retracted to deep, angry, thoughts of just what he was going to do to Jack Lestrange when he got his hands on him.

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) Why was it that when things where finally piecing themselves together again, something happened and everything shattered back into small pieces? Why was it when Mandy finally found a reason to smile, to be happy, it was torn from her? These days, Mandy found it hard to believe in happiness. Every time a single ounce of happiness filled her, it didn’t remain that way for too long. There was always something that knocked her off the edge, that something kept her from being as happy as she possibly could be. That something was Jack Lestrange.
Upon hearing the news of her sons critical condition, Mandy had broke down four times. She had finally cracked. The first three days had be the toughest. Mandy had sank into a kind of depression that she couldn’t pull herself out of, even if she wanted to. She was stuck in a massive black hole with no way out. But then it hit her, if she couldn’t pull herself together, be strong, who would? She needed to be strong, for her family’s sake. Anton wouldn’t want it like this, he wouldn’t want to see his family distraught over the happenings. However, it wasn’t all that easy. Although Mandy was trying her hardest to keep herself together, she still cried every night and every morning, sometimes wishing that she would just fall asleep and not wake up…
Last night, Mandy had drifted off to sleep on a damp pillow, due to the tears that could no longer be contained. She didn’t want to go home, but they all had their turns staying with Anton. She needed the rest, the more hours that passed, the more weaker she felt, all the live had been completely drained out of her.
Mandy had been forced to take time off from her job, there had been too much family crisis for her to continue working, especially while she was in such a vulnerable condition. To her, nothing mattered anymore. Everytime she wasn’t with Anton, she wanted to be. She struggled to leave him, but what mother wouldn’t? Her son lay in a hospital bed, not breathing, not responding to anything. It killed her to even think that he might not possibly pull through it all. But Anton was strong, she had to believe he’d fight it.
Slipping on a casual outfit, not giving much care to what she wore, Mandy wanted to get out of her home as quick as possible. She hadn’t even been eating properly, not having a proper meal in a week, and already she could see herself losing the weight, nor was she feeling all that healthy. But it wasn’t her she was worrying about, it was her son, her daughter, her family.
Feeling much better now that she was out of the house, Mandy wondered who would be with Anton now. Robert. Her husband had been reluctant to leave Anton’s side, the life had been drained from him also. This was a big hit on everyone, that was obvious.
Holding the daily prophet in her hands as she walked towards the ward her son was, Mandy’s eyes scanned the title carefully. A small frown crossed her lips as she read over the short mention that involved the situation at the Green Dragon. No longer feeling the need to read it, Mandy tossed it into the bin before entering the room.
As expected, Robert was there, sitting on the chair beside Anton’s bed. He looked exhausted, he didn’t look like himself at all, neither did she though. Walking towards him, she carefully dropped her handbag onto the floor. Moving behind the chair on which Robert sat, Mandy slipped her hands over his shoulders and sighed before bringing her lips to his ears, “Don’t you want to go home and get some sleep, something to eat maybe?” She asked softly, already knowing the answer.

Robert felt himself nodding off again, and he forced his eyes to stay open. He didn't want to fall asleep, in case something happened. Robert wanted to be there and awake when Anton woke up. Most importantly, he had to know what happened. He was pretty sure Lestrange was invovled but, he needed to hear it from Anton. He needed confirmation before he went and did something super stupid. Right now, stupid looked better than waiting. Oh, what a time to quit drinking.
He sighed. Closing his eyes for a little while wouldn't hurt. It wasn't sleeping, only resting his mind, if that was even possible. In about thirty seconds, Robert was out like a light. The sleep only lasted a whole thirty minutes. Voices in the hall awoke him from his fitful slumber. Robert rubbed his eyes and frowned.
Robert was trying to figure out with the limited details he had what had happened. Had Lestrange attacked Anton? Had Anton gone after Lestrange? Did it have something to do with himself? Was there something else he didn't know going on? Robert knew one thing - Lestrange had hurt a second child of his. It hit him straight in the heart like a rusty spear. Robert had thought this over a million times over the past week. He couldn't make sense of it, which was beginning to agravate him. Robert couldn't understand what he had done to Jack Lestrange to make him to this, twice.
For the millionth time, Robert let out sigh full of angry steam. His dark, tired, eyes flicked to Anton once more. No visible change. He wondered what was going through his son's head. Robert sure hoped there was something going on in there. If Anton was trapped in his body, Robert could only hope his mind was at a peaceful place, and not this hell. Robert desperately wanted to change places with Anton. He'd do it in a heartbeat if he could. He knew he couldn't. Robert's family needed him for once. He had to be here for them above everything else.
Robert really wanted to drown himself in a sea of vodka - his favorite drink. Hell, maybe something strong, like scotch, firewhiksey, pure alcohol itself. Robert was pulling through withdrawls the best he could. It was just hard when everything felt to be your fault. Like everything else, Robert was taking the blame for his son's current state. Robert felt had he done something or said something, Anton wouldn't be lying there. Had he said something different, maybe to Lestrange, ages of go, none of this would have happened. If he'd been a better father, husband, a better man - maybe none of them would be here right now. Robert knew blaming himself would do any good but, he did it anyway. He always did.
He was drawn from his thoughts, feeling a familiar hand touch his shoulders. He blinked out of his blank stares and his dark eyes focused on his wive, Mandy. Robert closed his eyes as she talked in a soft whisper in his ear. "No," he said, more darkly than he meant to. "I'm fine." Why did she bother asking? Robert knew that she would know the answer before she even said anything. "He's still the same," he muttered, reach up his shoulder and taking one of Mandy's hands into both of his. Robert opened his sad eyes to see her's. He could tell she had been crying all night, and even this morning. He knew this was hard on her as well. This was her baby, her favorite child (even if she wouldn't admit it, Robert knew). Robert knew she was taking this about just as well as he was. That put them on the same page about something.

Some people would believe that what Dominique was experiencing was something between anger, sadness and some heartbreak. Not heartbreak because someone dumped her. No, the other kind of heartbreak. The one when the love of your life was on the edge of leaving you forever with no hope of returning of any kind. Dom was certain their wasn’t a word for what she was feeling at the moment. No one could possibly know what was going through her mind or how her body felt. She was pretty sure she couldn’t even think of words to describe it. Dom knew what it was feeling like but knew those werweren'the right words. She did have one constant word that was going through her mind and warping every thought she had: revenge.
The moment she found out Dominique could slightly remember it felt suddenly like claustrophobia. Like the world was closing in around her and there was no escaping it. There was one way she knew how to escape that feeling and it meant being with Anton. However the moment her mother found her and told her even her family couldn’t help her. She knew that she should be stronger than this by now. But hearing that Anton has been attacked. She didn’t know what to do about that. Her mother informed her that she didn’t know who attacked her fiance but Anton had been found in one of the bars in Knockturn Alley. At that first moment it didn’t register but a day later it finally did. He was looking for Jack. And then Jack attacked him. That was one reason why revenge was in her mind.
Revenge actually didn’t come into her mind until a few days ago. The last few days really have been a haze to her. She went through them like it was nothing and nothing else really did matter to her. When she wasn’t at the hospital she was home. Sitting in her room starring out the window playing with her engagement ring. It was an almost trance like state. Nothing else bothered her and no matter who tried talking to her it didn’t work. Anton was hurt because of her. Because she had to open her mouth and make Jack hate her. Had to get him angry. The first day she spent most of the time in tears and calmed down before she went to the hospital to see him for the first time. Dom knew she had to look somewhat put together in front of Anton’s family. However the moment she saw him the tears came like a heavy rain and she was crying into his shoulder. She had ran over to his bed and for the first night didn’t leave his side. Everything about him she was used to. The coldness of his body and him not breathing. Everything that would usually show he was dead when she knew he was very much alive.
Today’s trip to the hospital was a different one. There were no tears to her eyes and even though she was still in the trance like state she was on a mission. Dominique knew Anton’s parents weren't doing any better than she was but somehow maybe this brought them to like her a bit more. To know she was beside their son no matter what? Hopefully it did but she knew that the information she was about to give them would probably make them hate her. To know that it was her fault that he was in this state. And even though food and well her own well being werent even on her mind anymore she had to make this right. She was going to go after Jack. Didn’t know when it was going to be. Couldn’t let Jack know that little bit of information. Any time she saw him or something that reminded her of Jack she was going to finally break.
Walking into Anton’s hospital room she saw that Mandy and Robert were still there. She walked over to Anton and kissed his forehead, which has been her routine for the past week. Dom could just tell he knew she was still there. He had to be there. She was carrying their child. That was something his parent’s werent finding out until she couldn’t hide it anymore. She couldn’t see Robert loving that he would soon be a grandfather. She looked over at his parents and possibly they looked worse than her. Mandy has been crying that much was obvious and Robert looked like he hasn’t slept the whole week. Dom could relate with that. Every time she tried to sleep she was haunted by Jack. By what he might do to her and the rest of the people she cared for. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath. They had to know.
“I know how Anton got his injuries.” Dom said finally speaking, something she hasn’t done in a few days. Well at least to the LeBlanc side of the family. “Jack gave them to him. That’s why his wounds arent healing. I have the same five scars on my back and they are from Jack. Jack went after him because of me.” When she organized this in her head she had planned on not crying and keeping eye contact with the LeBlanc’s. Yet she couldn’t do that. Immediately she let her head fall and saw a tear roll off the tip of her nose. They had every right to hate her now. And she would never hold it against them.

THREE WEEKS LATER Things had been pitch black in Anton's mind for a good amount of time. It was just him sitting in the dark, unable to break out and come back to his loved ones. Before he knew it, his eyes opened and he was looking at the ceiling of one of the many rooms in the house he had just bought for Dom. The house that he bought with his money left to him by his parents. He knew that his father would be furious, but Anton needed a place for his family, and if Robert couldn't understand that, oh well. He blinked a couple of times, coming to, and then sat up. His chest was bare, and he was wearing his pajama bottoms. The bed still looked like it hadn't been slept in, like someone just crawled into it. He got extremely excited that he was finally awake, that he jumped out of the bed and called for Dom. Anton walked out of the bedroom and down the hall. The sun was out, but the curtains were drawn slightly, so only little rays were seen. From what he could tell, it was a beautiful day.
And then Dom stepped from around the corner. A look of surprise was on her face. And not the good kind of surprise. With a wave of her wand, and a smirk, all of the curtains opened up as wide as they could and sunlight flowed into the hall. The moment it touched Anton, he began to heat up. And then the heat kept building, it was getting so hot. His body couldn't take it anymore, he collapsed to the ground. He continued staring at Dom in disbelief, utter disbelief that she would do something like that to her fiancee. His vision blurred and before he knew it, he was gone. A pile of ashes on the floor in front of the girl that he thought loved him.
Back in the hospital, Anton's body continued on in the state it was in. His father was still sitting there like he had since Anton was admitted into St. Mungo's. He was completely unaware of anyone and nothing about him changed. And then Dom came in. The moment she kissed his forehead was the same time that he turned to ash in his head. Whether it be from her lips touching his forehead, or his nightmare, his nerve endings fired and for the first time in a week, his hand moved. The movement was minute, but definitely noticeable for anyone who had been hoping for any sign of life still inside the young man that lay in the hospital bed.

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) Why couldn’t they just have a break? They never have time to revel in the complete contentment of their lives, before lightening struck them. They could never have the good without the bad, and when they did have the good, it was never for a long period of time. What was so wrong about being happy? Was her family immune to any sort of happiness? Apparently so…
Mandy wasn’t surprised with Robert’s answer, it was the same response she had received all week. No one had the time to eat or sleep, even when Mandy was persuaded to go home and rest, she never really did. Instead she spent have the night crying and the other few hours lost in restless sleep with dreams that haunted her.
Hearing that Anton had no mad any progress, Mandy’s heart dropped once again. It was almost a feeling she had gotten used to, the emotion of disappointment had filled her every day for the past week, every time the nurse had announced that Anton wasn’t improving in any way.
What would happen if Anton continued showing no progress? How long would it be until they announced her son to be dead? How long would it be until her heart broke in two? This was hard on all of them, effecting them all in individual ways. Anton was Mandy’s first born, he was the young boy who used to follow her around the house, who she used to show off with pride and happiness. Even today, at the age of seventeen, Anton was still her baby boy, and he always would be. She had no idea the effect it would have on her if they let him go.
Mandy’s hope and faith faded each day, only to be replaced with sadness and despair. Anger was also among the many emotions that hit her. Although no one was able to identify the bastard who had brought this upon her son, in her heart Mandy knew who it was. His name screamed through her mind each day. Jack Lestrange. What had they done to deserve this? What could have possibly led the sick bastard to rape her daughter and then attack her son? Mandy needed to know.
Kelsey then slipped into Mandy’s mind. Her little girl. Where the hell was she? Robert hadn’t been at Hogwarts all week, so she was practically unprotected. Wasn’t that an advantage for Lestrange? Wasn’t that enough of an invitation for Jack to attack her daughter again. And just as Mandy’s feeling began to well up again, she had no idea if she wanted to cry, yell or throw things about. She did none of that, instead she remained silent, tracing her thumb over Robert’s fingers and just looked at him through tired eyes. Too much thoughts where distracting her, one minute her mind was on Anton, the next Kelsey, then Robert, and back to Anton again. Everything was a huge fiasco.
Placing a small kiss on the side of Robert’s head, she then closed her eyes for a moment. Only a moment, seeing as Dom had came back to visit Anton. Even Mandy found herself worrying over the young girl. She then listened to what Dom had to say. However, they had no real affect on Mandy. The girl had only confirmed something that Mandy had already suspected. Squeezing Robert’s hand before she let it go, Mandy walked over to Dom who quickly became upset again. Embracing her in a small hug, Mandy sighed, “Look, you pulled through everything Jack did to you, who’s to say that Anton wont either?” She asked in a soft tone, but just before she could even try to continue attempting to comfort Dom, she found the greatest comfort of all.
The small movement of Anton’s hand had caused Mandy’s heart to leap to her throat. Maybe she was imagining it? No, her son had moved his hand. “Oh my…” She whispered under her breath, not being able to say much. It had been a week, of no progress or improvement, and now the small movement of her son’s hand meant everything to her. Everything was going to be okay.

If this world Robert was living was suppose to be in between heaven and hell, he was seriously questioning how much more worse hell was than this. He constantly felt over the past months that he was in hell. Robert felt with every bridge he tried to cross, it collapsed underneath him, and the raging river below swept him up and carried him away. Robert hoped that where ever Anton was in that head of his, that it was a better place. Somewhere happy, bright and not dark and dull as this life. For all Robert knew, his son had a pretty nice life - aside from having him as a father. Again, Robert drew blame to himself.
Robert glanced to Mandy, feeling her kiss on his head. It was a small token of affection, or maybe sympathy. He hoped it was the first. There was one thing he took from this, crisis's tended to bring two people together. While Robert hadn't been with Mandy much this past week, any time they were together it was in this very room. In fact, they had yet to get into an argument this week. That was an improvement, despite the circumstances.
The steady silence of the room was broken as some else walked in. His eyes reluctantly looked at the visitor. Despite the fact that Robert wasn't all that fond of his future daughter-in-law, he wished she wouldn't have to go through all this. He knew she must be going through the same thing he was, except her's might not be as bad. Robert had years worth of stuff to bank up on his emotions, somehow tying into what was happening now. Dominique didn't have anything close. Even if she was to blame for this, which he had yet to find out.
"Jack went after him because of me." Robert clenched his fist at the mere mention of that asswipe. It was an involuntary reaction, something he could no longer control. Lestrange had targeted his family twice. That was two times too many. Ugh, crap. Now she was crying. Robert already felt awkward about it. Still, he was perplexed. What did she do to make Jack Lestrange to this to her? This whole time, Robert thought it solely rested on his shoulders. Was it possible that there was something else? Did Jack kill two birds with one stone? He sighed and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Why?" Robert asked, his voice uncharacteristically soft and gentle. So much so, he surprised himself. Robert didn't dare look at Dominique - the crying irked him. Instead, he fixed his gaze once more to the floor. There was a specific tile his eyes seemed to rest on this past week. If Robert could have lasers shoot out of his eyes, that tile would have been blasted into oblivion by now. “Look, you pulled through everything Jack did to you, who’s to say that Anton wont either?” Robert was exponentially glad that Mandy was there, comforting Dominique. Had Mandy not been there, things would most likely be twice as awkward. A small frown crossed his face. So, something had happened between Dominique and Jack? Yet, he was kept in the dark which sort of pissed him off. Robert quickly shoved that thought off. Now, wasn't the place or time for him to get angry. We all know how that goes. "He'll make it," Robert stated. "LeBlancs don't quit without fighting," he added, avoiding the term death. His head snapped up, catching the quiet whisper made by his wife. Robert glanced between Mandy, Dominique, and his son. "What?" he said immediately. A surge of hope soared through him, and he really hoped it wouldn't be dashed. Robert stood up quickly, and little too quickly after just sitting for two days in the same spot. His back cracked due to the sudden movements. He winced, suddenly feeling like he was extremely old. There were times in her life when she had wanted to change her past. Times when she was younger and just ended up saying the wrong words or something like that. But nothing really was ever this bad. She has heard the stories her Uncle have told her about the time turner but he never wanted her to even try it. Back then they had to do it. It mattered greatly. It saved a man’s life. And well Dominique has been wishing ever since she heard Anton was in the hospital that she could change it. Find something and go all the way back to when Jack brought her to that weird cottage in the states. Make her words clearer and make sure they both didn’t drink. Use her words better since she now knew what pissed him off. But even though she wanted to do that Dom knew that what she said then was true.
It was a little bit of a shock to her that her family was taking this better than expected. This wasn’t the way she planned for them to meet her fiancé. Wasn’t anything like what she had planned in her head. Didn’t expect her mother to find him in Knockturn Alley. How her mother knew to find her she really didn’t know. It could have been anything. But she knew her mother now knew how much Dominique was in love with Anton. Everything was obvious on her face how she felt toward him. Dom knew it would be even more obvious once Anton woke up, since once that happened she wouldn’t stop talking about him or being near him. She only left his side now because her mother and father made her. They thought it wouldn’t be too healthy if she was in the hospital the whole time. But home wasn’t much better. The idea of Anton still being out haunted her.
The tears didn’t come for long. She was hoping those were going to be the last tears she ended up crying. Couldn’t keep on crying. At least in front of anyone. Dom knew it made people feel awkward and the LeBlanc’s just found out she was engaged to their son. Probably didn’t like her a whole lot yet. Even though the Headmaster and she started on bad terms they were at least civil toward each other now. When she told him it was her fault he didn’t seem that angry toward her. Towards Jack’s name definitely but it wasn’t toward her. She had forgotten that Jack has also went after Kelsey. The other LeBlanc child. Did Jack have something against the family? Was she going to marry into a family that was even more hated than hers was? Honestly, Dominique didn’t think that was possible. Everyone had something against her family.
A hug from Mrs. LeBlanc wasn’t something she expected. The whole week her mother and father both tried holding her but she could only push them away. Really the only thing that made her feel safe was being in Anton’s arms. But when Mandy did give her a small hug she had to hug the woman back. This was probably the closest person who knew what she was going through. Mandy had raised Anton into the man he was today. Dom had her to thank for that. And then Mr. LeBlanc’s word came and it shocked her a bit. One word but it wasn’t harsh. This was a new side that she has never seen. “Because he trusted me. Each time Lily tried to kill me at school he did something about. He told me his plans the last time I saw him and I couldn’t let him do it. It was going to put my mum and dad in danger. He didn’t like that I didn’t agree. He attacked me then told me he was going to go after everyone I cared about and kill them. He went after my sister. And I guess Anton was next.” While she told the Headmaster this she wiped the tears away with the back of her hand. Dom couldn’t help but wonder if the Headmaster even knew that she had been wanted dead by the death eaters.
The rest of the words did comfort Dominique greatly. She knew LeBlanc’s must be fighters. Anton had to be the strongest guy both physically and mentally she has ever met. He was so much stronger than his father and knew that Anton would make a great father one day. Another reason why she knew Anton would never leave her. He wouldn’t leave her to raise a child alone. Dom could already tell he was excited for the baby after they talked. They had a family to raise. She turned back to Anton and saw the movement of his hand. Her own hand rose to her face to cover her mouth, which has dropped. He moved. He was alive. There was hope. “H-His hand. It moved.” Dominique said feeling a new hope inside of her. A smile almost came over her lips but it was like she didn’t remember how to smile.

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) Life had been an utter fiasco for the Leblanc’s, if it wasn’t one thing, it was the other. Mandy had forgotten how long it had been since she had experienced happiness, since she had smiled, a smile full of warmth and love. It had been too long, and right now, she couldn’t think she’d ever experience that again. Here she was, a mother of a rape victim, a vampire who lay in critical condition, a failed wife and merlin only knows what else! Her life was spiralling down hill faster than she thought it ever could. Was it really that long ago that she was content with the life she led, that no problem in the world could affect her?
Mandy understood that life got hard at times, it’s what people called midlife crisis, but what she was living in, experiencing was a living hell. It was tormenting, a torture that any person should be go through what her family was experiencing, the weight of blame on her shoulders. There was times when Mandy didn’t want to wake up, she wanted to just go to sleep and finish with all this bullshit. But as much as she wanted that, it wouldn’t happen, unless she got into the room that held the drugs and managed to steal all the morphine.
Although there was a few things that she could take out of this situation. People where drawn closer to each other, revelling in one another’s comfort. Even though the only time spent together between Mandy and Robert had been in this room, they had been civil towards each other, avoiding any chance of an argument, neither had the energy nor effort to fire up something. If anything, they had been brought closer. And with Dominique, Mandy had softened up towards the girl, seeing her feeling where legitimate for her son.
Rubbing Dom’s back in a comforting manner, she sighed softly. When would things start looking up for them? Didn’t the bad ever come with the good? It certainly didn’t look like it. Mandy was sick of all her shitty luck, she was sick of that bastard Lestrange harming her babies. Mandy wanted to put the blame on Robert, she wanted to hit him, shove him, take her anger out on him, but she didn’t believe he deserved her fury, she didn’t believe that whatever he did was as bad as what Jack had done to her family.
Mandy turned to look at her husband, prepared to explain what she had just witnessed. Maybe she was just going crazy…no, Dom had confirmed what she had seen. She listened to the crack of Robert’s back and winced slightly. She told him not to sit there all day. “Anton…his hand, he moved.” She whispered slowly moving towards her son, looking down at him. Pushing her fingers through his blonde hair, she allowed a sigh to escape her lips, “He looks so peaceful…” she mumbled, more to herself than anyone else.

“Because he trusted me."
Robert snorted. He found it hard to believe that the soulless Lestrange would actually trust a person. The 'I'm gonna go after all who you love' bit sounded a bit more like him. Robert creased his face into a deep frown. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he had something in common with Dominique Weasley. Jack Lestrange was attacking their families - which were intertwined in two ways. Life just kept getting better and better, didn't it? He was going to have to talk to Dominique alone. Behind closed doors. He needed to know exactly what happened between her and Jack. He needed the details, not just the brief explanation. Now, was not the time. Something had happened, taking both girls by surprise, and Robert had missed it. After rising quickly, he stared intently at his family - which would now included Dominique. Whether he liked it or not, the LeBlancs, Weasleys, and Potters were all family. They all shared one problem - Jack Lestrange. Hell, the world shared that problem with them. Robert stared slightly baffled at what they both told him. His hand moved? Looking at Anton now, he wouldn't believe it. He hadn't been looking at him at the time, so maybe he did. Robert had to wonder if maybe it was just something they thought they say. After all, they were desperate for him to get better, and the mind likes to play tricks on a person. Robert didn't want to believe that but, he didn't want to raise his hopes any higher. "Are you sure?" he asked them, slowly approaching the bed. Robert's muscles and bones ached. Now, he knew he should have listened to Mandy. She had to expect he wasn't going to listen to her. It was just a sign that age was catching up with him. Then again, after sitting in the spot and practically the same position for two days will have an effect on the human body. Robert stared rather hopeful at his son. He hoped that he was peaceful, where ever he may be. He cracked a slight smile, one that would be barely noticeable unless you really knew his face. It was possible to know that all wasn't lost. It couldn't be, otherwise, why was he working so hard to change? In order to be a better father, he needed live children to be a father to. Robert watched, mentally egging Anton on to move again for him to see. [/blockquote]

The Third Week Anton lay in the hospital bed, now going on three weeks. His entire body had barely healed and the longer he was in his state, the worse the mood in the room got. The people who visited him were beginning to lose hope, and so was he. His dreams were now centered over his dead body, him leaving Dom for good. And then she had to raise their child on her own. It made anton feel terrible and more determined to get out of this psycho dream world. A few of these also were about Jack. Kelsey had obviously been kidnapped the same day he was attacked, but anton had no clue where she was and no way to get her back to safety. He could see brief images that showed a large, ornate room in which kelsey and Jack wore elegant robes and sat on a huge, hand-carved bed.
In the hospital room, his body sat empty, and it slowly gained back pieces of Anton. His hand had only moved once the entire time that he was in the coma, but that one movement instilled hope in everyone that loved the young man. If he knew that his father hadn't moved through the three weeks, he would appreciate it and it would heal some of the relationship. Anton just wished that things could be back to the way they were, and maybe that's why his body wasn't responding to his mind's will. It knew that even if he were to come back to everyone, things would still be the same and there was no sense in coming back to psycho murderers and pissed off fathers. The only thing he wanted to see, feel again, was Dom. He couldn't leave her, not like this.
And then the miracle happened. Anton's body didn't move, but a slow, raspy breath entered and exited his lips. It was his body's natural movement that it was used to for 17 years and it meant he was back. Anton had pulled through. His eyes stayed closed, but his lips moved slowly, trying to form words. The pain was excruciating, and that's when he knew that he was back. He was so glad to be back, so relieved. The mixture of the two made a tear form and fall out of the corner of his eye. All he wanted to do was be next to dom, for her to curl up next to him and never leave. He wanted so desperately to wipe the tear away, it was embarrassing for him, but maybe everyone would understand. His lips were finally able to move the way he wanted and the one name that came out was "Dom." It was so low, but he knew that Dom would be able to hear it. And then he started to really hope his dad was there. He never wanted to patch things up with his father more than at that moment. "Is my dad here." His lips barely moved, but he could make the words just fine. He just wanted his father to be there.

Robert's no longer felt as heavy as it did. It was lighter, beating better than ever. Still, it carried some weight. Since that small movement of Anton' hand, Roobert absolutely refused to leave this room. He didn't care how much Anton proclaimed to hate him. Robert was going to be here, every second, or every day until Anton either died or woke up. He hoped for the latter, he knew it would happen. It was more of a matter of time. No one really knew how long it would take for Anton's wounds to heal. Even the Healers didn't know, stupid idiots.
For another two weeks, Robert stayed in this very room. He sat in the very chair, which was now like his second home. Well, third home really. Robert only left a few times, to give Dominique time alone with Anton. He didn't need to be there for all her sad, mushy, stuff. Instead he either went home, or to Hogwarts to check on things there. At Hogwarts, he was informed that Kelsey hadn't been to any classes since Anton's incident. He wondered if she just went off and hid somewhere. Lestrange was responsible for this so, maybe she was just scared, angry...heck, they were all feeling that. Robert just hoped she didn't go an run away.
The only time he was ever really pryed away from his son's room was by Mandy. She insisted that he go home, sleep, eat something. Telling her no was pointless, and to avoid a stupid argument, Robert was obliged to go home with her several times and eat. He couldn't tell you what he ate, or what it tasted like. He couldn't remember. Food was the last thing on his mind. The first and onldy thing on his mind was his family, all of them.
Currently, Robert was sitting in his chair. The same chair he'd been occupying for the past three weeks. It was dreadfully uncomfortable but, by now he'd gotten used to it and didn't really care. The only actually sleep Robert had gotten were the hour or two here or there that he dozed off. It really showed on his face. He looked like shit. He hadn't shaved, although he had showered. He looked pale, tired, almost dead. He was alone. Robert sent the girls to get him coffee and get themselves something. Oh, since Robert hadn't had a drink in about a month, he'd been drinking a lot of coffee - and had secretly picked up the habit of smoking. That was bad but, he figured not as bad as drinking so, he'd trade one evil for another for now. It was really just until he got through all of this, hopefully he could do it without losing his mind.
Robert's head nodded as he dozed off again. His arms were folded across his chest, his legs stretched out in front of him, as he slumped down into the chair. He dreamed as he dozed. Robert dreamed about better days, the times before his children went off to Hogwarts, before everything went to hell. He wished they could stay that age forever. Things were so much easier then. His dreams never stayed happy for long, as Lestrange weaseled himself in there - that bloody bastard. Robert liked to dream about all the ways he wanted to torture Lestrange. Have something or person give it to him up ass, so he knew what rape felt like....then just cause him as physical pain as was possible, and then some how just ride the world of the bastard forever. There was one catch to that, it was hard to kill someone who was already kind of dead.
His body jerked his head up as he heard something. Robert's eyes flew open and he slowly sat up. His body groaned with him when he did. Much to his dislike, his body just had to remind him he was getting old. Heck, he wasn't that old - not even forty yet. Still, he felt like he was a hundred. His tired eyes wandered up to Anton. Robert had to blink and rub his eyes to make sure he was seeing this right. Did he just breath? He wanted to leap for joy but, maybe it was his mind playing some sick trick on him. Standing up, Robert took the six quick paces it took for him to get to Anton's side.
His heart leaped. Anton really was breathing. Tears washed over his eyes and frankly, Robert didn't care. He was happy, more happy than he thought he could feel, that Anton was okay. Since no one else was around, and not knowing how much closer Mandy and Dom were to returning, Robert wheeled up a stool next to Anton's bed. He sat on it before the thing even stopped. Robert peered at his son's face. His heart did flips when he saw and heard Anton ask if he was there. Robert had heard him say something before that. He hadn't caught it but, honestly that didn't matter. Anton, the son Robert thought hated his guts, asked if he was here.
Robert put one hand at the top of Anton's head, and the other gently touched his arm. "I am..h-here," he choked out. Robert's voice was so thick with emotion he didn't recognize it himself. He was just so damn happy it made him sick to think about it. Not only that, he was relieved. Robert didn't have to bury his eldest son. It was a fear that was instilled in the back of his mind, unsure how he would handle that. In the back of his mind is where it stayed because he knew that somehow, Anton wouldn't let go that easily and make it back. Even if, Anton would refuse to talk to Robert again, that would be fine - just as long as he was alive.

There was never a time when Dominique has ever felt this helpless. Literally her world was falling to pieces around her while a new one was starting in her stomach. She couldn’t believe that she was pregnant and each time she looked in a mirror she swears her stomach got bigger. It never did since a baby didn’t grow that fast, took about nine months, but it was all mental for her. This was hers and Anton’s baby and she didn’t want to go through any of this without him. Even if by the end of the nine months her abdomen would be huge she wanted Anton to see her get that big. To be with her every step of the way. That was the only way she could possibly get through this.
When his hand moved there was this whole new hope inside Dom. Something that she hasn’t felt for a while. But then when he didn’t move again a little more hope was lost. She saw how his parents stayed hoping but what if he didn’t wake? It was a constant thought on her mind and one she tried to stay away from. He is the love of her life. She knew she would only find it once since he was the only guy for her. It only made sense to her to be with Anton. However at a time like this those morbid thoughts couldn’t help themselves. It haunted Dom everywhere she went and was thankful when she was able to wake up every morning knowing what she dreamt about were just dreams. But life wasn’t much better for her.
Those moments when Robert would leave the room and let Dominique be alone with Anton she was thankful for. She was happy he understood somewhat of she was going through and that she did love his son more than anything in this world. But in those moments she was alone with him she would climb up right into his bed and curl up right next to him; would move his arm so it draped over her shoulder. While there at the beginning she just cried into his side. Dom couldn’t help it. And part of her hoped that the scent from her tears and her being this close to him would wake him. Yet as the weeks went on most days she was silent. Other days she said a few words to him. It all depended on how she was feeling.
The first week the only thing she thought about was revenge. Revenge for what happened to Victorie and now for Anton. Maybe she was still angry about what Jack put her younger cousin through. The emotions that went her last week were chaotic but revenge stuck out the most. Thinking back she probably would have done something stupid like go after Jack herself. Probably ending her own life along with the child’s. That wouldn’t have been good. And now when she thinks about Jack sure hatred comes up but he will pay soon enough. It wouldn’t come from her. She was done with him. And Dominique would make sure Anton understood this once he woke. She wouldn’t even want to hear his name. She was done with him and hopefully by doing this he would stay away from her.
Dominique has always hated coffee. Was never a coffee drinker and always preferred tea instead. That was the kind of person she was. However in the past week she has probably drunk more coffee that a regular coffee person has in a year. The caffeine in the tea didn’t keep her awake but the coffee sure did. And it first it was more of a high to her since she wasn’t used to that amount of caffeine. Then it became more of an addiction. Between her and Robert they probably drank all the coffee in London. It was that bad. Hopefully once they got out the addiction would slow down. Or maybe she would just be a coffee drinker with some cream and like four packets of sugar forever. It was hard to tell. And for she was fine with it.
Coffee runs weren’t something she necessarily had to do but knew that Robert wanted time alone with his son. And since he gave her time alone with Anton she gave him his own time. Mandy also got her time too. Somehow this has brought her close with his parents but knew there would probably be a bit of tension whenever she was around the Headmaster. Some things could just never be fixed. And while on these runs with Mandy they walked slowly there but one the way back walked rather quickly. Hoping not to miss if Anton did indeed wake.
Walking back into the room from the latest coffee run she just heard the end of what the Headmaster said. Anton had spoken? As Dominique looked at her fiancée again she noticed his chest was moving? The coffee cup she was holding fell out of her hands as her whole body seemed to freeze. He was all right? And just by the look on Robert’s face and how close he was to Anton she knew something happened. “Did he speak?” were the first words she could register to come out of her mouth. “Anton.” She said quietly at her first but as her legs moved her quickly over to the side of his bed the Headmaster wasn’t occupying her voice seemed to gain some strength, “Anton?” she asked again hoping he would just open up his eye to look at her. Automatically she held his hand that was closest to her. It was the only way for her to feel safe.

Despite the fact that Anton was now awake, he still was afraid to move. He knew that he was in pain, and it was bad enough when he was just lying there, with each breath came a sharp pain in his chest and he remembered breaking his ribs. Or rather Jack breaking his ribs. What he had forgotten about that day came flooding back into his mind and Anton couldn’t help but get worried. Jack was completely ruthless and took no mercy on him, so he didn’t want to imagine what he would do to Dom if he got the chance. And then there was Kelsey, a small part of his memory that didn’t come back. Jack had mentioned right after a high pitched squealing that Kelsey was in his grasp, but there was no help for her, since Anton could remember that part. If something happened to her and they were too late, Anton would never forgive himself. The only hope for her was if someone mentioned her whereabouts and then he remembered that she was taken.
Then he heard his father’s voice, pulling him out of his thoughts. Anton’s eyes stayed closed, but the breathing continued. In all honesty, he didn’t want to stop breathing, out of fear that he would drift off again and be subject to the nightmares he faced with in the coma. And, if he stopped, his parents might think he had gone back into his death-like state. It was the only thing proving to himself and them that he was alive. He was so relieved to hear his father’s voice for once. It meant that he actually cared and he forced some words out in a raspy voice. “Dad…I’m so sorr…” That’s all that he could get out before he winced and his words were interrupted by a cup hitting the floor and another familiar voice.
Dom. The thought of her made Anton smile on the inside. His fiancée was there, waiting for him to wake up. The love swelled up inside of him, but he had used his words on his father. And then she put her hand in his. The most he could manage was a light flex in his hand, signifying he knew she was there, and loved her more than anything in the world. And he could hear the baby’s heartbeat. The strong little heart of their child inside Dom meant more than you could imagine. He had pulled through everything and was going to live long enough to see his child grow up, live a long life and hopefully be a picture perfect family. Anton just hoped that he could patch things up with his father so that his child could have a grandfather. Air filled his lungs in a steady rhythm, and soon he was able to speak a few words. “I’m so glad you’re here.” By the end, he was breathless and needed a few seconds before more words would be available.
Another image interrupted his mind. It was of one of his dreams, nightmares, when Dom lured him down the hall and then opened all of the curtains. He felt like he was in the dream again and his heart broke. And then he felt her hand in his and remembered that he was back, in the world where things were the way they were supposed to be between them. He noticed his grip was tight and he released it with an apology. “Sorry.” The dreams would no doubt haunt him for the next few days, no doubt weeks and would be recurrent in his sleep, but Anton knew he could endure it, so long as Dom was by his side. His family would also be comfort. He planned on patching things up with his father, especially now, after his near death experience. And Mandy, he wanted to stay close with her and he felt bad that he put her through all of this, her own son. Mandy, he had yet to hear her comforting voice. What if she wasn’t there at all? It was possible she had just left, or was on her way back, or even had excused herself from the room for a few moments. But he was somewhat disappointed she wasn’t there. Stress was something that he didn’t need right now, and he was trying his hardest to give her the benefit of the doubt, but something in the back of his mind told him that Mandy was out shopping. That’s what she used to solve her problems and having her own son in a coma might push her back into the habit.
Bad habits. His entire family had them. The most important and prominent was his father’s. Robert had clearly become a raging alcoholic and had claimed that he stopped drinking, but Anton had trouble trusting his father’s words. He had let him down before and he wasn’t expecting more out of him. However, knowing his father was there when he woke up meant a lot to him and he was willing to forgive and forget all of the wrong-doings that had gone on between both parties throughout the years. And, if Robert had refrained from drinking the entire time Anton was out, he had gained some respect, because if there was anything that would force a recovering alcoholic back into substance abuse, it would be having his son in a coma. He wasn’t quite sure how long he was out, but he wouldn’t doubt that whoever was in the room could tell him down to the minute. He forced his eyes open, wanting to see some familiar faces. They were pitch black, after not feeding in so long. It would have been bizarre to anyone who didn’t know he was a vampire, which was most. Once his eyes adjusted to the light, he recognized his father’s face, although it looked like he had aged fifteen years since the last time he had seen him. And then there was Dom. He was most happy to see her once more. Her warm, gorgeous face was what made his entire fight worth it and he smiled slightly. One of his eyes was partially swollen still and he could tell, since it didn’t open as far as the other. Being awake was the best feeling in the world at that moment.
