The Ravenclaw dorm was as still as ever, almost deprived of all sound besides for the light breathing of the other four girls who had found sleep so easily. Lately the pleasantries of sleep have abandon Danielle Wood, leaving her to toss and turn until she fell into a forced slumber. Not once in her seven years at Hogwarts had it ever been hard for her to fall back into the routine of school but lately her thoughts have been caught up in her summer. She yearned to go back to those previous weeks, the time she spent was absolutely amazing and now…well, it was safe to say it was the complete opposite.
Instead of forcing herself to sleep, maybe seeking something peaceful and tranquil could help her find some salvation within herself and allow her to relax her mind enough to fall into that sweet dreamland that granted all her wishes in the hours her eyes fell close to the reality of her life. There was only one place she could bring to mind that could make her relax and clear her mind. The north tower.
Slowly, and quietly she made her way out of the empty common room, she was shocked to see that no one else was up. This was strange in the house of Ravenclaw, seeing as they all would pull late nights. Glad that she wouldn't be held up by someone wanting to talk with her, Danielle left the deserted common room and found herself on the hallway. The halls were empty, it was passed the time that the professors roamed the hallways to check to see if students were out of bed. After all they needed their slumber time just as everyone else did. So with wand in hand lighting her way ever so slightly, she breeched the tower and made her way out to the balcony. There was something about the night air that calmed her, made her feel a bit less restless but even more awake at the same time.
The North Tower was Danielle’s getaway. She loved everything about the place. She loved the night sky, how the stars scattered the sky like a huge broken mirror was shattered and its bits of broken glass was sprayed across the sky. When the sun went down, the darker things came out to play, but even in the dangers of the night, it never looked more appealing.
