FOR A PESSIMIST I’M - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PRETTY OPTIMISTIC. Shoving the heavy door to the North Tower up Rosie frowned at the weight of the door as it creaked slowly open, revealing the inside of the tall tower room. Of course the the heaviest damnest door in the entire castle would be right above the long walk of spiral stairs, that arched a steep incline from the seventh floor to the tower. Rolling her eyes Rose stepped into the room, not bothering to shut the door. She has just going to have to open the stubborn thing later, and besides which, the wood protested loudly whenever it moved, and Rosie didn't want to draw any unwanted attention. She wasn't supposed to be up, past curfew, but it was the only time she could finished her astronomy homework, and if someone did find up here she could always use her perfect duties as an excuse, claiming someone had told her about some mischief happening up here during her rounds.
It was just past midnight, the hour starting to encroach more towards the one, and Rosie would rather be in bed, covered comfortably with thick duvets, head buried in a pillow, but of course she had procrastinated on the one subject that required her to be out of bed at insane hours of the night. A strong student astronomy was the only subject that Rosie really stank at, mostly because of her zero interest in the entire subject, not to mention that it required her to give up sleep for her stupid assignments, and so Rosie always waited for the last second to finished her projects and assignments. Such as this one. It had actually been assigned two weeks ago, and due tomorrow the students had supposed to use those fourteen days to observe any astronomical things of their choice, and then finished a report of their sightings. Rosie had chosen the moon, only for the ease in which she could make up her 'observations' with the help of a lunar calender. Waxing, waning, it followed an easily traceable routine, which Rosie was relying on for her mark. However, she did plan to get in at least one actual observation, to help add some plausibility to her homework.
Unzipping her bag Rosie pulled out her folding telescope before letting her purse drop to the floor, following it quickly, long legs folding into a sitting position. Arranging her skirt around her Rosie rubbed a spot of dust from her shoes. Realizing that all she was doing was procrastinating more she sighed, starting to piece together the telescope. Finished she set it down, adjusting it so that it looked out of one of the large windows. The windows in the tower were huge, taking up most of the wall, allowing a clear view of the sky. There was no glass covering the gaping holes in the wall, to ensure that nothing blurred or distort the image from the telescope, but charms had been place to keep students in and the cold out, creating a surprisingly warm environment to work in.
Bending her head Rose tilted her face so that she could glance into the eyepiece, studying the moon for several seconds before pulling away. "What a waste, She grumbled as she adjusted the magnification and leaned in once more, It's just a damn chunk of rock."

THEY'RE JUST LETTERS IN UNALPHABETICAL ORDER ANYWAY ( - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ) Have you ever wondered who you really were? Well, Blay did, everyday of his life. He knew who he wanted to be and he figured he knew who he was but not fully. He didn't know much about his heirtage, about his parents, about anything. He didn't know where they went, where his brother went. The thoughts killed him everyday of his life. But after ten years of being without his real family Blay had come to terms with it and was able to live life. Sometimes though he put himself into his studies to much.
But today was different. He really honestly didn't feel like throwing himself into his homework and books. He felt the need to socialize and get out and about. He really didn't need to be sitting in the library at his usual table or in the common room like a log not moving. It was late, and past curfew but Blay wasn't the type to really care about that. He could walk quietly, and be sneaky so it wasn't as if he would ever get caught. No worries at all. Anyway the chances of him running into someone was pretty slim, then again he did have the worst luck in the world.
Before he really knew where he was going he was walking up the spiral steps to the North Tower. It was his favorite tower out of the whole school. You could say he was like a hopeless romantic, he enjoyed the stars and everything about the sky. It gave him hope that there was something more in the world. Something bigger then just Hogwarts. He loved his school but he needed something more in his boring life.
Creeping up the steps he anticipated to have to open the door. No matter how sneaky he was the dang thing made so much noise, almost always coming close to getting him in trouble. Surprisingly enough though the door was open. Walking quietly to the door frame Blay waited for his sight to adjust as he looked to see if anyone was there. Sure enough he seen a figure setting up a telescope. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness he realzied that it was a fellow Gryffindor, Rose Weasley. She was a year younger then him but he had talked to her a few times.
Watching as she peered through the lens he let out a small quiet snicker as she spoke. Apparently she wasn't to impressed by what she was seeing. Shaking his head he leaned against the door frame and said, "Even rocks can be beautiful, it's all in the eye of the beholder, you should try thinking differenty," he said just staring at the back of the girl.

FOR A PESSIMIST I’M - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PRETTY OPTIMISTIC. Rosie squinted into the eyepiece, trying to discern something, anything that would be marginally interesting for her report, but despite the silvery cast that promised magic Rosie couldn't find anything out of the ordinary from the satellite, her telescope only showing her craters and bumps.
"Oh, merlin!"Rose clamped her hands over her mouth, slender fingers pressing into her lips to hold in the scream that caught in her throat, just on the verge of following her loud exclamation. Whirling around Rosie spun to see whoever had snuck up behind her, rising unsteadily from her sitting position to stand, facing the intruder. She blinked rapidly, trying to adjust her eyes so she could make out the figure who stood in the doorway, who was seemingly unperturbed that he or she had startled her so badly. Once her eyes had settled from the change of focusing on bright moon to the dim starlight that spread unevenly through the tower room Rosie left out a breath of relief. It wasn't a teacher, or a fellow prefect, or really anyone who Rose would have loathed meeting alone in the middle of the night. In fact it was one of her housemates, Blay, though he was a year older then her, and a grade above.
Her heart still racing heavily, cheeks flushed from the scare Rosie thought back to what he had said, shaking her head in disagreement. "Well this beholder thinks that however pretty it may be, beauty isn't going to help her finish her homework in time for her class tomorrow." As soon as the words were out of her mouth Rosie frowned. After being frightened she had momentarily forgotten what had happened between the two of them, but now it came rushing back with a clarity that felt much too real for the past. She might not have a problem with seeing him again, but it was perfectly possible, and very, very likely that Blay would have problems seeing her, after what she did. It had been almost a year since then, since Rosie had rejected his offer of love for another boy, who in turn had taken had done the same, unintentionally spurning her. Karma, she supposed, but thinking back on it Rosie realized how stupid she had been. Four words, that she hadn't been able to say, because she had been holding herself back, wanting to say them to someone else. Someone else who had gotten her baby cousin pregnant, and was now dating and apparently in love with someone else. Pushing away thought of her maybe bestfriend Rosie bit her lip, glancing over to older boy, at a loss for words.

THEY'RE JUST LETTERS IN UNALPHABETICAL ORDER ANYWAY ( - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ) Blay tried to keep all thoughts out of his head of the girl who he had snuck up on. Usually he would have seen her and took off without a word or any hint that he had been there. He usually tried to keep his distance from Rose after what had happened, though he was to nice to really hold it against her. It was just to hard for him to look upon her with her beautiful red hair. Just with the thought he imagined himself running his fingers through it and pulling her face to his own...stop, he warned himself. He couldn't let that thought continue, not with her standing right in front of him. There was no way he could stand looking at her if he would have finished the thought.
The two Gryffindors had dated awhile back. He was the reason he was like he was with girls. He loved to protect them but he wouldn't allow himself to get close to any girls. He had a giant wall around his heart and he found that he couldn't trust any of the girls he knew enough to even think about taking down his wall. Rose hadn't met to hurt him, he knew that, but she had indeed used him and he fell in love with her. He could still remember that night clearly when he had told her. It was then that his world fell apart.
But now the Salvatore kid was better. He really was. He knew that because he stayed there in the tower and hadn't left. It was about time for him to test whether he truly was getting better or not by putting himself around the very person who had ripped out his heart and stomped on it. Which was probably why he was so amused as the girl let out a scream and covered her mouth. Laughing lightly now, a true laugh not a forced fake one he had been used to giving he shook his once more at the girl. "You should never keep your back to an opened door," he said in his same quiet tone of voice.
Taking a few steps into the tower room toward the girl he stopped a distance from her his feet were spread apart and he crossed his arms casually on his chest as he just studied her. Oh how he missed her in his life. This was really the first time the two had talked without no one else around. "Why don't you try distinquishing and finding the consellations of the stars," he suggested. "You could write your paper, which I assume thats what it is, on the different stories behind the ones you find," he finished as he glanced out toward the sky. For being winter it was a clear night, the stars were shining brightly, it was just the kind of night that Blay enjoyed looking at the stars. He enjoyed looking for the different consellations.
Letting his gaze slowly fall upon his red headed nightmare he shrugged. Apparently it seemed she needed some help, he had a feeling that she wouldn't have much luck finding any consellations, let alone know what they were. "I could help you if you like," he said. Blay knew he was being nicer then she deserved after everything but he was a nice guy and he did have a bad tendacy to let girls walk all over him.

FOR A PESSIMIST I’M - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PRETTY OPTIMISTIC. Why Blay wasn't making up an excuse and leaving as soon as humanly possible was confusing Rosie. Usually they both did their best to avoid each other, because Blay, Rosie assumed, most reasonably hated her, and Rosie just always did her best to avoid awkward situation. Not to mention that the bits of guilt that she had done her best to tuck away always resurfaced whenever she saw him. As Rosie tried to figure just what exactly was going on right now she turned back to her telescope to seem occupied, when all she really needed was something to do with her hands. The telescope had been bumped, but only stood off kilter, instead of falling, which Rosie was grateful for. Kneeling down Rosie set it back in place, Rosie glancing over her shoulder at the sound of a low chuckle.
He was still here, which surprised her. She would have thought he would have left, though a part of her had hope he have stayed. It was just nice to have someone to talk too, Rose tried to convince herself. Now he wasn't the only one surprising her, Rose was was having a hard time trying to sort through her own feelings. Still looking over her shoulder Rose shot Blay a glare, blue eyes narrowing playfully. "Well you shouldn't sneak up on people in the dark!" She replied indignantly.
He was a lot closer now then he had been moments before, only a few feet of space of separating now. He stood languidly in front of her, arms crossed over his chest as he looked up her. She hated him for being able to look so casual, especially when inside, Rosie was the exact opposite of casual. Feeling his eyes on her Rosie turned her face away for a moment before reconsidering, looking back at him. God, he was handsome. She hadn't really forgotten what he looked like, she just hadn't let herself remember, because as far as Rosie could tell remembering hurt too much to be worth anything. Listening to his suggestion Rosie nodded slowly, a red curtain of hair swinging with the motion as she considered it. It made so much more sense then tracking the movements and stages of the moon, not to mention that the mythology behind the constellations were eons more interesting then moon, and would make her report a lot easier to write. "Good suggestion," Rosie agreed, turning to face him once more. "Thanks." She added after a beat, smiling slightly.
It was a good idea, expect Rosie realized with disappointment that she had done all of her prep, and the little bit of research she had bothered with, on the moon, and therefore knew zero about the constellations. Sure, she could tell where the Big and Little Dipper were but after that Rose was lost. "Really?" Rosie was surprised by his offer and beamed at him, "You'd be my savior."

THEY'RE JUST LETTERS IN UNALPHABETICAL ORDER ANYWAY ( - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ) Blay had no idea why he had offered to help the very girl who had hurt him the worst in his life. If his sister even found about this she was bound to come up from that hell of hers in the dungeon and murder him. She was a little crazy and a Slytherin who hated Rose's guts. Not because she knew her or ever had problems with her but for the fact that she had broke her brothers heart. Blay would just have to make sure no one heard about it, not even Dougie or Asher. Definetly not Asher who's sister was also in Slytherin. If it got out, oh god he didn't even want to think about. He wouldn't know who's side to take, and if he just sat and watched it was bound to make it all even worse. No, this little private run-in between Rose and himself was going to remain a secret.
Still standing with his arms crossed over his chest he smirked at her. It was a little to hard not to when he was around her. Things seemed decently normal and he was thankful for that. He didn't want her to be awkward let alone cause her some kind of distress. With the small amount of light that shone into the tower from the stars he stared at her illuminated face. God, she was so beautiful. Trying to fight his urge to reach for her once more he shrugged. "But then it would have took all the fun out of this for me," he answered her casually.
The look on her face was priceless as she glared at him playfully. Now theres my girl," he thought, glad that she wasn't jumpy around him. The two had always been able to get along well and he couldn't help but want to know what had went wrong, other then the fact that Axel was in the picture. The thought made him want to punch the wall, but he knew that it would do more damage to him then actually do much to help. The thought of what he did to her just pissed him off. He scowled momentarily then realized he had been scowling at her and he quickly corrected it with a fake one. "After all the time we spent together Rose, and you still have not figured out I love watching people get all jumpy when I come up behind them," he said with a sigh. Of course this wasn't true, he actually tried not to do such a thing unless it dealt with some sort of prank, or her it seemed because he overly enjoyed it.
As see seemed to think over his suggestion he was glad when she had said it was a good idea. Of course it was, it was his suggestion. Laughing at himself for thinking like that he still didn't budge until she said that she would like him to help. Then he felt his heart leap as she said he would be her savior. "Thats what I'm going for babe," he said surprising himself with the words he had used, let alone he admitted what his plan was. Winking at her he finally moved and walked over to the telescope and sat down at the other side of it from where she was. "May I?" he asked as he touched the telescope. He wasn't really worried about her answering and he went ahead and looked through it as he studied the sky.
Moving the telescope a few inches he finally settled upon the constellation he had been looking for. It was Andromeda. As he focused the telescope he let his hands fall to his lap as he nodded toward it. "The constellations I zeroed in on is Andromeda. It means princess, the one right next to it is Cygnus which means swan," he said knowing he had picked these two for a reason. To him Rose was a princess, she deserved everything and after everything he still wanted to be the one to give it to her. Cygnus because swans were beautiful but they had nothing on her.

FOR A PESSIMIST I’M - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PRETTY OPTIMISTIC. Shaking her head Rosie arched an eyebrows at him, "Oh bull," She protested with a grin, "The only time you bothered to sneak up on someone was when you were playing on of your ridiculous pranks with Asher and Dougie." She remembered those practical jokes all too well, as she was usually a by stander to them, or on occasion the victim of such pranks. Based on the numerous stories she had heard from her family, the trio of Gryffindor boys rivaled her own uncle and his twin, when they had been attending Hogwarts. Smiling slightly at the memory of one particularly humorous prank Rosie was startled of out her reminiscing by his next comment.
His casual usage of the pet name had thrown her off, and she fought not to let it show. This whole thing was unnerving her, and yet she couldn't help but want more, eager to see what either of them would do next. She didn't comment though, and just watched him, curious as he walked over, crossing to room to sit next to her and the telescope. Shifting over slightly Rosie made space for him, so that he was able to look into the telescope properly. "Go ahead, you're the one who knows what they're doing." Rosie gestured to the telescope with a permissive wave, not that it mattered or was even necessary. Blay had already leaned forwards, looking into the eyepiece. Rolling her eyes Rosie studied him as he studied the stars.
Thanks to the dim lighting Rosie had a hard time making out anything but his strong profile, which, highlighted by the low light of the moon and stars, stood out against the heavy black of the night. Resting her elbows on her crossed knees Rosie cupped her face in her palms, subconsciously chewing lightly on her bottom lip as she thought. To what magnitude had she hurt him? I love you. So many people said it too her, her parents said it all the time, her family said it just as often. Her friends proclaimed their love to her randomly as they giggled over a private joke, sometimes strangers would express their thanks with a Ohmigosh, I love you, when Rosie had offered a hand or a favor. But Blay had been the first person to say it to her in that wholly romantic sense, and Rose had said no. She had never said it herself. She wasn't the type to say it without the actual feelings, and it had been too hard to find the courage to say it to Axel, and with Blay something had been in her way, blocking the words.
As she wondered how hard it had been for Blay Rosie found herself wishing for another chance. It was was completely mad, to even think that he might ever say those words to her again, and yet Rose felt a small tug of hope that she promptly pushed away. She couldn't, wouldn't, shouldn't be thinking like that. It was the setting, she decided, the absolute quiet, the twinkling stars, just the two of them along. No, there she went off again, into that whimsical word where she wasn't aloud to be.
Pushing her thoughts away Rosie tried to focus on what Blay was saying. He had moved away from the telescope, and speaking. Tuning into what he was saying Rose nodded her understanding, glancing into the telescope. At first she focused on Andromeda, burning it into her memory so that she'd be able to copy it down later, then nudging the telescope gently to the right, to see the second constellation. This one she knew, a fairly common and recognizable one, and as she backed away from the telescope she smiled. "My grandpa showed me that one once. He's fascinated with all things muggle, and that includes their mythology." Which was where Rosie had picked up her slight knowledge of it.

THEY'RE JUST LETTERS IN UNALPHABETICAL ORDER ANYWAY ( - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ) Something seemed to have been woken up deep inside of Blay whenever Rose was around. His heart seemed to swell up and beat rapidly against his chest. He could feel the heat rise from his feet all the way up to his cheeks. Words seemed to flow out of his mouth without thought. And with her around, it seemed like the sun was constantly shining on him taking away all the pain, the hurt, and the loneliness that he had felt since that very girl had broken his heart. The feelings he had that moment in the tower were unexplainable, he had hope. Hope that somehow, someday this beautiful red headed girl was going to be his told hold, to love and to be spend his days with.
Then just as fast as all those feelings hit him something knocked them down like a bulldozer hitting a building. His hope seemed to disappear though the sun still tried to shine upon him as he sat cross legged by the telescope and Rose. He knew that he was taking a big chance of getting hurt once more, and he wasn't sure if he could stand to be hurt again but in his eyes she was worth it. If there was any kind of hope shown from her he was going to allow himself the chance to get hurt. He would once more hand his heart to the girl and trust her to not break it.
When Blay first decided to go to the tower he had no idea how the night was going to go. He hadn't expected it to be so great, and it wasn't as if she had said she wanted him, it was the mere fact that fate had once more brought the two together.
Shrugging at what the girl had said about him sneaking up on people doing pranks he snickered. Of course he did that then, it was expected. "Thats a different scenerio though, I meant to do that then. But tonight I had no intentions on sneaking up behind you, let alone I had not even thought that I would find you actually doing your Astronomy homework," he said teasingly. He had been relatively surprised when he noticed who the girl was.
After pointing out the constellations that he had specifically chosen he looked at the girl. Well, more liked stared. The urge to just touch her was way to much. So before he knew what he was doing he had found himself speaking without much thought or knowing what he was saying. "I picked the two that most reminded me of you," he said in an absent-minded tone as he looked at the stars. "Andromeda, the princess, and Cygnus the beautiful swan," he said as he once more said the meanings of the constellations though this time he was referring them unto Rose herself. Then with that said he allowed his gaze to find her once more as he begged for her eyes to find his in the star light from above.

FOR A PESSIMIST I’M - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PRETTY OPTIMISTIC. She couldn't focus. Or more accurately, wouldn't let herself focus, because if she allowed herself to do so she knew that she was going to focus on the one thing that was completely off limits to her. And if that happened Rosie was sure that she'd lose all sane traces of thought and logic. Instead, Rosie busied herself, fidgeting as she kept one half of her attention on think what Blay was saying, and the other half trying not to think about Blay. Toying with the hem of her skirt Rosie rolled the fabric between her fingers. After what she had done Rosie knew she wasn't getting a second chance at what the two of them had had before, but she couldn't help feel like things were heading in the right direction. She wasn't going to get what she wanted, but right now things were okay. It wasn't nearly as strained as Rosie had assumed it would have been. It was actually nice, as their conversation slowly eased into familiarity. Yes, Rosie knew that it was impossible for her to get what she achingly wanted, but she'd settle for a friend.
Listening to him defend his pranks and his so called situation Rosie shook her head with a soft laugh. "Whatever Blay," Smiling at him Rosie tilted her head, curious. "So why were you coming up anyways? You don't have a telescope or anything with you." His hands were empty, and Rosie couldn't think of what he'd would have ended up doing up here by himself. True, it was gorgeous in the tower, with the stunning view of the sky, stars twinkling and the moon hanging low of the glistening dark waters of the lake, but despite the sights, Rosie had always thought that it was lonely in the tower, so high above the rest of the school.
"Awe, that's too sweet," Rosie felt her entire face flush lightly at his words, genuinely embarrassed by the compliment, especially one she felt she didn't deserve. "You're too sweet," she reiterated, sure there was a happily goofy smile on her lips.
Later she'd blame the rush of blood to her head for her actions but right now Rosie had stopped think all together. Leaning forward she drew close enough to Blay to touch her lips to his. It was the brief moment, just the slightest contact before the sudden warmth of his lips slammed Rose painfully back to reality. Jarring her out of her hazy, dreamlike thought process the shock of what she had done scared Rosie. Not so much that her action had scared her, but she was terrified what Blay would think about her now. She had ruined everything that had just been slowly building up, one messy action knocking everything over.
Pulling back quickly, Rosie clamped a hand over her mouth, as if that could reverse what had just happened. "I'm so sorry Blay, I wasn't thinking at all." Those few sentences didn't feel like enough and Rose bit her lip in worry, watching warily for a reaction. Though Rosie was horrified by her uncensored actions there was a smirking part of her, that she tried to push away, that didn't regret anything. As brief as the kiss had been she had still enjoyed it.

THEY'RE JUST LETTERS IN UNALPHABETICAL ORDER ANYWAY ( - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ) At that moment in time Blay had no sense of what he was doing or saying. It was as if his implicit cognition was taking over and his brain was no longer in charge of what was going on between the two. He was acting purely on impulses that his body and heart seemed to want; and yes he was fully aware of this yet he did nothing to stop it from happening, because in truth it was what all of him wanted, was to be near Rose. The worst thing about it was the fact that if Blay let all the old feelings take over him once again he was bound to get hurt once more by this girl and he wasn’t sure that his heart could take it anymore.
Blay wasn’t one to have much luck when it came to girls. Sure girls always flaunted themselves all over him, they were pretty but they weren’t her. No one could ever be her. There wasn’t anything wrong with Blay either. He was gorgeous, nice, polite, and funny. He was everything a girl could want; at least that’s what he had been told several times when he got dumped by different girls. Maybe it was the mere fact of who and what he was. He was too nice.
Sighing out loud without hesitation he looked back at the red headed girl. Wriggling his eyebrows at her playfully he said, “Oh you know me, when a pretty girl takes off up into the dark towers I can’t help but follow her,” he said then he looked out toward the sky. The truth was on the tip of his tongue. He usually wouldn’t admit it out right that he went up there to enjoy the beauty of the night sky but for some reason he found the words flowing from his lips. “Can’t a guy actually just want to admire the beauty of the night?” he said as his gaze stayed locked on the sky.
Then once more the implicit cognition actions took over and his eyes fell upon her once more. The beauty in front of him at that moment was so much better than the night sky anyway. For a moment he was transfixed just on watching her speak. Her lips parted ever so slowly it seemed. It was like art to him. Not able to take his gaze off of her he allowed himself to freely study her movements. Then he found her face right in front of his. His breathe caught…and then her lips touched his. He felt his heart beat pick up, he could feel all the emotions and feelings come flowing out and then she pulled away and left him sitting there dazed. He was vaguely aware of her apologizing to him, but at that moment all he wanted to do was hold on to the ounce of happiness that was flowing all through his body. Looking at her he went to speak in reply, “I- uh, I don’t know what I was going to say,” he said weakly.
It took Blay a moment to realize that it was his moment. He could take it or leave it. If he ever wanted to try things again with Rose; despite the fact that he could get hurt, the time was now when he had her right there. Reaching out for her he placed his hands on her cheeks and pulled her face back to his and let his lips fall gently upon hers and without waiting for a reaction he began to kiss her slowly.

FOR A PESSIMIST I’M - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PRETTY OPTIMISTIC.
Rosie couldn't help but laugh as he spoke, teasing her. "I'll remember to stop going into dark towers then," Rose grinned, playing along, even though there was no way Rose could ever see Blay doing anything remotely sinister. It was just too out of character for him. The good guy. That was the reputation he had. He had dated other girls, of course, and word got around. Pulling up her knees up to her chest, hugging her arms around them, Rosie tried to remember what she had heard about Blay. Nothing bad, Rosie mused with a smile. In fact, from what Rose could tell, from the bits and pieces she had gathered, along with personal experience, he was the perfect guy. But everyone wanted their bad boy, Rosie recalled, biting down on her bottom lip. Blay was safe, at least to everyone else. To her, Blay was like trying to navigate around a landmine, when you didn't know where it was. You didn't know where to step, but at the same time there was a rush of anticipation and adrenaline. Rosie was still testing the waters, unsure what she could say, or what lines she could cross and right now it felt anything but safe, as Rosie tried to comprehend what was happening.
Catching the second part of his comment Rose glanced up at him through her lashes. He was turned away from her, staring intently out the window. "The beauty's out there for everyone," The was a pause, as Rosie struggled, trying to decided whether to go on or not. "I'm sorry...for last year." The words left her lips in a whispher, said so softly that Rose wasn't even sure the Blay could here her. If it was possible to turn back time, right now, to go to that exact instant Rose knew that if she had known what she knew now, and had gone through the whirlwind that had been this year, she would have been able to say the words with complete ease, with complete sincerity. But there was no device, magical or otherwise, that could erase that mistake, as much as Rosie wished there was.
Normally if someone told her that they were left speechless after a kiss Rose would have been tickled pink with pleasure, but now his broken up statement didn't affect her, since she was speechless with horror. She knew she was horrified with that she had done, and she gave a nervous laugh, uncertain as to what she should do next. A seconds passed, stretching into awkward moments made a move to stand up, figuring the best thing to do right now was to leave. Just as she moved she felt a soft caress on her face, a gentle tugging and before she knew it her lips were touching Blay's all over again. She could feel his kisses, soft against her own lips but for a moment Rosie froze, unnerved. Trying to keep her head Rosie fought for control weakly, until she found her hands moving on their on accord, wrapping themselves around Blay's neck. At that moment Rose gave up, giving into the absolute bliss on the moment. Kissing him back Rose felt her eyes flutter close.

THEY'RE JUST LETTERS IN UNALPHABETICAL ORDER ANYWAY ( - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ) Blay was sort of like a country gentleman when it came to his personality and how he treated girls. Of course he wasn't from the country or anything but he had grown up by himself knowing that if he ever found a girl that he believed to be truly perfect he would do everything to make her happy. He had tried that with Rose at one time but got turned down. One would think that by now he would have gave up already, but for some reason he had never gave up on her like he should have months ago. Rose was his June Carter. Funny he was now referring to muggle music but it was true. She really was exactly what he wanted, but for the longest time he believed her to be unattainable but at this moment in the tower he was starting to think other wise. Maybe just maybe now was their time. Of course he knew that he might kill himself later if he let himself build up his hopes then she crushed them once again.
With a small sigh inside of his mind he directed his attention back to her. It was hard to not keep his attention on her. She was perfect. Her lips. Her eyes. Her beautiful hair. God it made his heart ache for her. Snickering at her comment his eyes seemed to light up. How he missed actually talking to her. "Well you can come into dark towers just don't be surprised when I appear to. It's against my will, really. Your like a fishing pole and I'm the fish. I can't help but follow the bait," he said casually though it was seriously the truth.
As she spoke he only shrugged now. Sure the beauty was out there for everyone but sometimes he wondered. Blay was really a good guy but it seemed because he was he got walked on by everyone, including his friends. He was dragged along on double dates, used to get a girls attention, and was use to getting his heart crushed now; however, in his mind Rose was the only girl he wanted. Their was no lie about it. He wanted Rose to be his own, he wanted everyone to see just how happy. He wanted to spoil her and hold her in his arms. He had dreamed about such a thing a long time. And now that his moment had come to take it he wasn't about to be an idiot and let it slip throw his fingers. He was going to take what belonged to him. "Don't worry about it, it happens," he replied blowing off what she had said because right now it didn't matter at all.
Molding into their kiss Blay became suddenly breathless. She really did take his breath away. He moved his hands from her face to the back of her head and tangled them in her beautiful hair. He wanted to hold her their for ever. Kissing her felt like heaven. Had he died? Maybe he had in his sleep and just didn't realize it. With his strong arms around her he didn't want to let go, ever. He wanted to keep them entertwined for as long as he could.
