It was extremely wierd. All that planning Yumi had done, she had done in vain because the only problem was trying hard not to get spotted. Whether by adult or kid, they couldn't spot her. She'd have to thank Trevent when this was all over. When this was all over .... When would it be over? Would it ever be over? She'd heard a few people had been looking for her, but hopefully it hadn't hit the newspapers yet. If it had she would most likely kill Trevent. Who was he to tell her what to do? He had (luckily for her otherwise he'd be a Slytherin and EVIL!) no blood ties with her. She of course, had chose her beloved and trusty guitar to go with her. She loved it. It was a gateway to open up her soul. Everything else consisted of a few clothes and a lot of food nicked from the kitchen. Yumi allowed her slender fingers to feel their way over the strings. It made a brilliant sound. She continued playing, letting her eyes search her beautiful surroundings. If someone happened to walk by they may be able to hear her. As it was a deserted street, she was sure no one would walk down. She hoped not. Especially not Ashford ... not after kneeing him in a very special place the last time he saw her. She thought she had every right to! He threatened to get his wand out and that made her very very angry. It was like he was turning into them. Her abusers. Her tormenters. Her family.

It was not far from the school, but it was far enough out that Jeremy knew that he would be getting back way past the hour he was supposed to be in his dorm. But he did not care. There was rumor that Yumi had run away. They were decent friends and he couldn't understand if it was the school or the people there, but he knew one thing: it was a dangerous time to be out on her own. Especially in the Wizarding world. He sighed lightly as he zipped up his coat and tugged at his gloves to tighten them on. It was not freezing out, but he wanted to stay warm since he had no idea how long he would be out here. But he wanted to find Yumi and talk to her. If she really needed some time away from things, he would offer his apartment.
He looked around hard and listened for anything that would give him a hint and then a familiar chord rang in the air and he knew that guitar anywhere. He followed the song and then he saw her playing at the city center. He walked over to her and looked at her. "Yumi... What are you doing here?" It was hard to see her out here in the cold. Running away was never a really good idea, so he was going to try to convince her to come stay at his place above his shop. He would not tell anyone she was there and she could just chill there until things were resolved, but he was not going to let his long-time friend be out here in the cold and homeless.
He remembered the first time they had met. It was in her first year. He remembered just how lively she was and how unsure she was about the school. He had made friends with a lot of the first years that year, helping them around the school for the first few months, but she was the only one that he really kept in touch with after that first year passed. Maybe he saw her as a little sister that he had to look out for... yes. That's what it was. She was his little sister in his mind, and he couldn't let her run away... Well... as long as he knew where she was, he would be less worrisome with that.

What was it with that school? Would she have to go the the other side of the world to stop them following her? Luckily, it was someone she knew. Hopefully. She looked up, her eyes squinting in the sunlight. Then she gave a small, lame half smile. "Hey Jeremy. I'm ... um, I'm ... doing ... stuff. What are you doing here?" She said uncertainly. Did he know? Did he know what she was doing? If so, what were his intentions? "Oh you know why I'm here so why ask?" Yumi surprised herself by saying in a slightly snappy tone.Shebit her lip, looking down. "Sorry." she murmered. "I'm just not really in a good mood right now. ... Stuff's happening." She tapped her guitar with her wand, and it turned into a cube. She then huddled up into a ball, making her look small and very vunerable.

"Doing stuff". Nice, he thought. He knew that she had intended to run away, but there was something someone could never run away from, especially if it was still on good terms: and that was his friendship. He looked down at her and then crouched down to look at her at eye level. She snapped a little at him, but he could tell that she was just upset with something and she needed some help. He looked as she turned her guitar in to a cube and kind of curled up. He pulled out his wand and wove it in the air and then pulled a blanket out of the air. He knelt on one knee and wrapped it around her frail shoulders.
"Yeah. I know what's going on, but what the hell are you doing all the way out here? You know that my apartment above the parlor is always open for you to crash at, no questions asked. And it would definitely be warmer than the streets. So come on. Let me buy you some coffee and we'll talk--" he said. He was really serious about this. He wasn't going to let her freeze out here. Nor was he going to let her run away and not tell him where she was going. She could not just run away from his friendship with her. "--about "the stuff" that's going on." he air quoted 'the stuff'. He stood up and held out a hand to her.

"Thanks," muttered the young one, as she felt fabric being pulled over her shoulders. Then came the things she dreaded to hear from him. "Yeah. I know what's going on, but what the hell are you doing all the way out here? You know that my apartment above the parlor is always open for you to crash at, no questions asked. And it would definitely be warmer than the streets. So come on. Let me buy you some coffee and we'll talk about "the stuff" that's going on." Yumi snorted. She stood up, looking up at him, without the aid of his hand. "Who says I want to talk to you?" she asked him. "You wouldn't understand anything." She sighed, shaking her head. "You have no idea what I go through so don't you DARE come through here acting like you do. You see this?!" she asked furioiusly, pointing to the deep scar that ran down from her temple to her chin, "That's what I'm running away from. The people that gave me this, yeah? My family." she stared at him determindly. In a moment of anger her sleeves were up. Angular scars were large and bold on her skinny arms. "They gave me these as well. Tell me, do your family love you? Care for you? Yeah? No? Well mine don't. They hate me for being what I am, who I am, a Gryffindor and telling people of thier cons. God, I wish I was a Slytherin sometimes. Then life would be easier. And the scary thing is I hate myself as well, Jeremy! There's two people I trust - you and my boyfriend Albus. And he doesn't even know!" Her voice raised with each word. "You'll never understand. Please just leave me alone."

He could see that she was upset and he could now see why as her anger showed her scars and told him that her family was doing this to her. He stood there and took what she had to say to him and took the blow. He didn't know? He looked at her as she told him to leave her alone and that Albus and him were the only people she trusted. He sighed lightly and just waited. He thought for a moment as she stood there angry. Slowly, he began to speak,
"Yumi... I'm a Tattoo Artist. I run into all sorts of trouble. I've been at gun-point, knife-point, and even had to pay the media a few hundred thousand dollars to keep them quiet when a murder took place before my very eyes behind my shop in the Bronx. Look. It may not be the same as having your family doing this to you, but I know how much hate is out there, and I think its a crime and just unfathomable that it had to happen to you, my dear friend. And as far as your parents go, fuck it. I'm almost eighteen. You call the Child Protection Adgentcy and get the hell out of there. Come live with me. Albus can stay there too..."
He stopped and looked over at her. He sighed lightly and then set his hands gently on her shoulders. "I'm sorry. I really am sorry this happened to you, but running away is only going to do one thing: hurt. Let's take this back into proportion here and let me help you get out of that family."

Yumi stared at her friend in disbelief. Did he honestly think that even compared to getting kicked, punched, hexed and knifed by her own family, the people who were supposed to love, comfort and cherish her? It didn't have a patch on it. Nothing like that. The tales she'd heard from other people, how they stepped in and defended them. Yumi would give anything for a life like that. Sure, problems would come about but she'd have a family to defend her from them. To protect her. She was sure she'd never know what that felt like. Not unless they went under the Imperiuas curse. "It doesn't even compare, Jeremy! You think what you went through is the same as getting knifed, kicked, punched and hexed by your own flesh and blood?! The ones that are supposed to care for you!? No, it isn't." She stood up, collecting her guitar. "Tell me something. How far has it spread? Are there ... rumours? Oh please don't say the papers know ..." She groaned the last sentence out. She was going to leave as soon as he told her.
