Why is it you always have to make a scene?....What’s wrong?”
Robert frowned and looked at the mess he made. This was just frickin' fantastic. He had to give himself some credit though - he broke his favorite thing, his alcohol table. His hands went to his sides, and he shook his head. Robert didn't particularly want to talk about it - not with Anton and Dominique in the room. He opened his mouth to say something, but his words were cut off when a hand grabbed his arm. His head spun and Anton spoke to him. "What the hell is the matter with you?You can't even keep it together for five fucking minutes without exploding. For Christ's sake, at least wait until your child is out of the room." Robert's face hardened, like he was angry. Then, he realized something he already knew. By the death grip Anton had on him, he truly knew his son really disliked him - hated him even. For a second, he was slightly scared. Robert knew that if Anton really wanted to, he could take him out. He didn't stand a chance. He wouldn't even put up a fight, he had vowed a very long time ago that he would never physically harm his family. It was the one thing his own father did, that he refused to do. Robert glanced at Mandy. He wondered just how much of what happened the night before she told Anton, or if she even told him anything yet. It wasn't a night he was proud of himself about but, he had made a revelation. He made promises, and ones he intended on keeping. So, standing here remaining silent like this little tantrum was nothing would be untrue. He wouldn't be telling Mandy the truth. He'd only be lying to them again in his mind. He sighed again. Robert glanced at Anton again. Why was he holding onto him so hard? It was sort of hurting him actually. Then, Robert glanced at Dominique as she spoke and things made sense. On the inside, he was actually proud of Anton. It was possible that maybe Dominique wasn't such a bad person. He instantly wondered if she had told Anton about when he had threatened her. Maybe that's what this death grip thing was about, and he was just protecting her. Miss Weasley was right about one thing, this was a shocker. What shocked him more was the fact that she said they wanted them - both of them - to help and be apart of the wedding. Really? If she was speaking for both of them, why was Anton breaking his arm. Robert then decided to just do the same to his son - shock him. He had promised his wife and daughter he was going to change, and he really had meant it. Robert was going to try really hard. There maybe slips ups, it was a long road but, he was going to go down it or die trying. Robert put his hand, attached to his free arm and wasn't turning blue, on Anton's shoulder. He cleared his throat, so they all could hear him. "I'm sorry about that," he said sincerely. "I quit drinking...and well, wanting a drink pissed me off. I went a little overboard, but that wouldn't be the first time," he explained, glancing between the three of them. words: 632 tags: Mandy, Anton, Dominique notes: robert wouldn't try to hurt anton - he knows he doesn't have a chance. >.< this was like a so-so post. It was truly amazing how the course of things can run smoothly and in the spilt of a second, mayhem break loose. It’s the way the Leblanc’s rolled, they gave the meaning to ‘the calm before the storm’ They all held the same trait, they where a bunch of loose canons, no one ever really knew when they would explode. Mandy was sure that if they where all placed in the same room together, none of them would last that long. They where a family, yes. A functional one? No. Nobody was perfect though.
Mandy looked at Robert as he glanced at her, she could tell what he was thinking. What the hell has she said? Nothing, Mandy had kept her lips closed, she was unprepared to speak to any of her children about the previous nights events, for Robert’s sake. If it had dawned on Anton, she was positive her son would do more than threaten his father. It was the beauty of Mandy and Anton’s relationship, it was always the one child who was devoted to her no matter what, and the one she was sure would do exceedingly well.
Shock rushed through her as Anton stood beside her, Mandy hadn’t even suspected him to be approaching them. Furrowing her eyebrow’s as Anton’s hand clenched around Robert’s arm, Mandy turned to Anton, “Let your father go Anton.” She demanded. Mandy could handle the arguing but when physical contact came into it, she refused to let any of that shit go down. Placing her hand on Anton’s shoulder, she quickly glanced at Robert and then back to Anton, “Let him go.” Mandy repeated herself.
Anton’s growl caused Mandy to move her hand to her son’s chest, “Listen to me, let go of your father and go over to your fiancée.” She stated sharply, her stare warned him to just back off. Sighing, her cheeks still heated with embarrassment. What a way to announce an engagement. Mandy didn’t want to believe that Dominique had just witnessed one of their ‘family moments’ but she then realized, there was going to be many more family moments she was going to witness or be involved in.
Mandy chewed on her lower lip and looked towards the ground, the engagement had came a bit of a shocker. She had only just called in to see her son and then to find out he had a girlfriend who he had proposed to. She didn’t even know he had any interest in settling down early. Apparently so. “We’d love to help.” Mandy said, now taking the chance to look up and speak for Robert and herself.

There was always a time for violence. Some people said violence wasn’t the answer but there was always a place for it. Dominique used to be a pacifist like that but moments in her life have changed her. And she did learn that there were times to use her voice and not just her wand. All of this has helped her but now she really just liked working things through with her voice. She learned that for some people all they needed was reassurance. Like how she felt safe in Anton’s arms she knew that her voice did so much for him. It kept him sane in a way and plus Dom knew he didn’t want to become a monster. Just has to reinforce it and make sure he knew that she was still here. That she was here for him.
Rob’s whole little tantrum didn’t bother Dominique that much. As long as the anger was directed toward her and she saw that he wasn’t trying to harm her she was fine. Everyone had those days when they wanted to break something. Her especially. But some were just stronger than others. Well she wasn’t saying he was strong, probably was going through hell at the moment with Kelsey and then finding out his son was engaged. She knew her parents might through a few things. Well at least hopefully her mother would be hugging her and trying to get everything ready. Her father, well Dom just hoped Anton was in one piece. But since she knew she was her daddy’s little girl she was pretty sure she could save her fiancé. What she didn’t expect to do was saving her fiancé’s father.
It wasn’t that much of a shocker to her how fast Anton got to his dad. Dom was really just thankful he didn’t grab his father by the throat. She could try and help the relationship but maybe the planning of the wedding would do that. They could do all those manly things like try and find a tuxedo, which Anton was going to wear. She wanted so badly for each family to be involved in this wedding and have everyone getting along. Sure the Headmaster wouldn’t like her family that much but he could deal with it and then after the wedding he wouldn’t have to deal with them that often. Hearing Anton’s words she knew she had to calm him down. And Dominique knew she was the only one able to do that. His parents’ words would do nothing. Only hers would work.
“Anton, don’t make this a bigger scene. You are better than this.” She made sure her voice was soothing but also loud enough for Anton to hear. She knew that she could whisper it but she wanted to show his parents that she was right for him. That she knew what to do in order to calm him down. She didn’t even move from where she stood. Dom heard his mother telling him to come back to her but she knew too well that Anton was just zoned in on his father. That he wanted to do something to his father for what his father had said to her earlier. When his mother answered her, hopefully talking about Mr. LeBlanc also a bright smile went onto her face, “That’s wonderful! I can’t wait for you two to both help us out for this wedding. I want it to go just right so it would work best if everyone got along.” Her voice was sweet but the last statement was a warning. This was her wedding. If anyone decided to mess it up they would have to deal with her.
The arm was definitely going to be bruised and it almost made her smile knowing that. But Dominique would still have to keep on her little sweet act in order to get out of here alive. She knew Robert already thought she was a whore, well knew she used to get around she really didn’t want Mandy to know that also. By now she thought Anton would have let go of his father’s arm and seeing that wasn’t going to happen she walked over to him placing a soft hand on his upper arm. “He is trying to get better Anton. Drinking is something that is hard to stop and going cold turkey is even harder.” Wow, something she could relate to the Headmaster with. Anton wanted her to stop drinking so that was what she did. “Let go of your father.” She repeated to him softer this time. Dominique didn’t know why she wanted the headmaster to keep his arm after what he threatened her with but maybe it was she could tell he was indeed sorry.

Anton shrugged his father's hand off the moment it made contact with his shoulder. He wasn't going to be able to talk his way out of this one. Anton was pissed and there was no way it was going away soon. He just wanted to know why exactly his father was such an asshole towards his children. Why his father, after so many years, had come to be so hard, silent, closed off from everyone. The thing he wanted before the marriage to Dom was to patch his relationship with Robert. But he wasn't going to put out anymore effort, he had already attempted and just got shut down. Robert was going to have to fix it all himself, he was tired of trying.
Anton's grip was still very tight, and until his father explained what that outburst was about, he wasn't going to let go. He was just damn lucky that anton wasn't tackling him to the ground and beating the shit out of him. Maybe that's what he would do. Then again, Dom was in the room and she wanted nothing more to patch the relationship between Robert and Anton. He seriously doubted that she would allow him to pummel his father. And then his father let it out that he had quit drinking. That was the saddest excuse Anton had ever heard. It sounded so stupid that he had actually quit drinking, and that was what caused the outburst. If that's how he was going to be from now on, maybe he should just start drinking again.
Then he felt another hand on his other shoulder. It was his mother's, which he also shrugged off. Why was she defending Robert? He was the reason for all of the problems in the family, all of the problems stemmed from robert being a death eater, or an alcoholic. And now that Anton knew his parents were getting a divorce, there was no need for her to come to his rescue. He didn't let go, and had no plan to. "That's your fucking excuse? You quit drinking? You're the saddest excuse for a father I've ever seen. You might not think so, but you are worse than grandfather." He hoped that it struck a nerve, just so that his mother could see that Robert really wasn't worth salvaging.
Then dom moved over to him, saying for Anton to take his hand off of his father. He really didn't want to, but her touch and words were so soothing to him and his grip loosened. It was already too late for him to take his words back, and he didn't plan on it. He meant it all until his father proved him otherwise. No matter how upset, or angry anton got, Dom was the only one after his change that could prevent him from exploding, and even calm him down. He knew his parents would see that Dom was the perfect match for him, but he only really cared that his mother see it. Even though he had loosened his grip, he was still raging on the inside and he couldn't even focus on the rest of the conversation going on.

Robert's eyes saddened slightly as Anton just shrugged off his hand. He knew that he couldn't blame Anton for feeling the way he did towards him. There were so many times before that Anton had made the effort to fix things and Robert bascially blew him off. Robert knew that it wasn't going to come easy. His relationship with Anton would probably be the hardest of all to fix. His relationship with Mandy didn't even compare to this. She didn't hate him.
He winced at Anton's still tight grip. It really was beginning to hurt. Robert fought the voice that told him to hit Anton in the face or something. No, that wasn't him. That was his father in his head. Robert might not have completley avoided being like his father but, hitting his children and wife was the one thing he could never, ever, ever do. Even if Anton was going to beat the living daylights out of him, Robert would not raise his hand an inch against his son.
Robert glanced at Mandy, as she tried to convince Anton to let go. Anton, however, wouldn't even listen to her. Shit, he must really be pissed if he wasn't listening to Mandy. Robert closed his eyes as yet again, Anton compared him with his own father. He shook his head lightly. Anton had no clue just what his grandfather was like. The bastard died before Anton was old enough to really know him. Yes, Anton had struck a nerve and he tensed up because of it but, Robert wasn't going to get angry about it. Instead, he stared at his son, sad that their relationship had come to this.
Robert never thought he'd think this but, he was thankful Dominique was in the room. Antons gipped loosened, and Robert stole the opportunity to sneak his arm back while Anton was distract. Robert rubbed the spot, and winces. He could already feel a bruise forming. This was going to hurt like no other tomorrow. He glanced at Dom, giving her an appreciative look. She saved his arm. He need this arm.
"You hate me, I get that," Robert said, returning his gaze to Anton. "I really did quit drinking. I'm doing it for you, your brother, your sister, your mother - " he paused and looked at Mandy. He looked at her for support. Robert then looked back at Anton. "I am sorry, Anton. I really am. You don't have to believe me, I don't expect you to." Robert let out a silent sigh. He was going to yet again declare his intentions, feeling it was important to do so with Dominique there to. "I've fucked up so many times it's not even funny," he said, "But, I am trying and I can't change without your help. All of you."
