It was dark outside, and not a single star could be seen in the sky as someone emerged from the castle. It was well past curfew, which would usually make anyone nervous about sneaking around in the dark. Not Michael Finnigan, however. He was as comfortable as a ghost, wandering over the dark grass towards the forest. He was completely comfortable breaking the rules...after all, he was a death eater. After he was a decent distance from the castle, Michael glanced back over his shoulder as he felt eyes on him. It wasn't every day a seemingly harmless ravenclaw boy was venturing around the grounds at 2 in the morning, making it plausible that someone was following or watching him.
After he was sure no one was behind him, Mike shook off the feeling and walked a bit farther before stopping. He glanced around once more, just to be sure, before hopping up onto the first branch of a tree, then climbing up higher and higher until he was halfway up. He wasn't planning on doing anything suspicious, Michael just liked to lay in this tree and think, staring at the branches above him. He was about to let himself get lost in his thoughts when he heard a twig snap, meaning someone or something was walking around in the area surrounding his tree. Michael pulled out his wand, ready for anything, and waited.

Petra toss and turn all night. She couldn’t stop thinking about her brother. She couldn’t let go that someone else abound her too. Her parents died and now Asher. It seem like everything in her world is falling apart. Trevent who was her love of her life was marring one of her friends and not to mention he hated her guts. She didn’t understand why Trevent would hate her for being a DE member when by blood he was a one. She couldn’t understand why he didn’t accept his true self, who he was supposed to be. He couldn’t hide from it and of course she tried to tell him that to but he was denial. How could he believe that he will never be one when his parent’s blood runs through his own vein? The same evil that they had, he had and he needed to accept that.
She couldn’t handle being in her bed any longer, she needed some fresh air. She put on a sweatshirt over her pj’s and left the common room. She just strolled outside not caring if she would get caught. Why should she care? If it was a boy perfect who caught her, she could just flirt her way out of it. If it was a girl she could just say she was going home (Jack’s house). She was just walk out of the doors when she spotted Michael Finnigan a ravenclaw (who she didn’t know that well) walking outside. What’s a ravvie during out here? She wonder to herself and started to follow him but staying a distance away from him.
“Climbing a tree? Really.” She thought dryly to herself but of course her curiosity got the better of her. She grabbed hold to a limb and started climbing and when she got close to were Michael was sitting. She broke her nail. “I just got them done today.” She looked down at her nails and sigh. She finally made it to where Michael was sitting. “What is a ravvie like you doing outside?” She ask with a smile and sat on a branch that was close to his.

As a voice came out of the darkness, Michael was proved correct in his theory that he had been followed. He glanced down, seeing the Riddle girl on a branch below him fretting over a broken nail. It was just like a girl to worry about that while climbing a tree. Mike rolled his eyes at the idiocy of it all before he returned to staring through the leaves of the tree.
Mike was getting lost in his thoughts once more when he felt a presence on the branch next to his. He tried his best to ignore it, but after minutes of being stared at he couldn't pretend it wasn't there any longer. He looked over at the girl, a blank look on his face as she asked him what he was doing out here. In Michael's opinion, it was none of her business, but he wasn't about to be an asshole and tell her that. He shrugged, meeting her eyes as he tried to think of a way to explain it. "Just thinking. This seems to be the only time and place I can do that anymore." He said.
The truth was a lot easier to speak that Mike had thought. He smiled slightly before turning back to the tree and his thoughts. He stared blankly for a few seconds, thinking about his life and his upcoming arranged marriage, before turning back to Petra with curiosity in his eyes. "What are you doing out here at this hour?" He asked, his tone curious.

“if I tell you I might have to kill you.” Petra joked. “well I couldn’t sleep and I decide to go outside and practice on spells.” That was a understatement what she really meant was that she wanted to practice the unforgivables but she couldn’t say that. He was a ravenclaw and they tend to be good students. “and then I saw you and my curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to see what a Ravenclaw like yourself was doing outside at this time.” She said with a smile.
“but it seem that you didn’t want the company.” She didn’t want to be a nuisance and especially to a guy she barely knew. “and it also seems like you’re lost in your on thoughts. I should leave you to them” She said stepping on the branch that was below her and took a glance down. She didn't notice she was so high in the air. Why did climbed this tree? She hated heights though she was the seeker for her quidditch team. How did that work? She grab to the branch. “Never mind… I guess I’ll stay with you for now.” She sat back down to her spot but closer to the tree trunk. It was so like her to forget things like being afraid of heights. She look back down and took a deep breathe. She needed to clam down.
