Emmalynn never thought she was beautiful. She actually thought she was the total opposite of beautiful. Sometimes she would wear her hair differently or put on different types of clothing just to see if anyone would notice her. No one ever did. She had gotten used to it over the years, scared about people paying attention to her. See, there was something that triggered Emmalynn's shyness and why she never did anything wrong. See, her father abused her since she was little. If she ever did anything wrong or even looked at her father the wrong way he would hit her. One time he hit her so much that she blacked out for a couple of hours. She was scared that someone would do that to her again.
"But I don't want to be the center of attention. Boys.. they don't like me. I rather just live in the shadows," Emma said in her quiet voice. She gazed at the snow covered ground, not daring to look at Lex. She really really hated expressing herself like this. She felt as though people could peer inside her and see what was going on in her brain. As though they could take one look at her and know she was an abuse victum by the one person who was suppose to protect her in the world.
"But I don't feel as good as everyone else," Emma managed to whisper and she lifted up her head to look at Lex finally. Then it happened. She saw him lean in and felt his lips touch hers. It was like fireworks were exploding in her brain. She never felt a feeling like this before in her life. This was her first kiss and it was amazing. It was all she ever pictured it to be and more. Emmalynn didn't know what to do but to kiss back, adding in every emotion and more that Lex was adding in.

Lex had to admit he hadn't noticed Emmalynn for a long time. That was because of his lifestyle and reputation more than the girl though. She was quiet and reserved, she kept herself out of the limelight, whereas Lex threw himself into it. He loved attention, she hated it. They were two very different people and yet, this night had shown Lex that Emmalynn was not the weirdo his friends often labelled her, and that she was genuinely quite a cool person. There was also the fact that for the first time ever, he thought he was finding out a little about the quiet girl.
He heard her tell him how people didn't like her, that boys were not interested in her and then he sighed. He was sure that was the case and yet he also knew that if she came out of her shell a little more then she would find more boys took an interest to her. The evidence of this was in front of her. He was taking an interest in her. He, Alexander London, man slut of the century was caring about a girl who was quietier than a mouse. That had to tell her something. She needed to just relax and let people get to know her.
Lex wasn't sure how she would react. She might have run again, but as he felt her lips touch his, he smiled knowing that she hadn't freaked out. She was actually kissing him back. The boy continued to kiss her, his hand resting on her pale cheek. He enjoyed the kiss, savouring the taste of her soft lips. Lex was sure this might have been her first ever kiss. He broke the kiss finally, and looked at her, his face still close to hers. "You're better than you let people think." With that, he kissed her again, this time a little more passionately.

Never had she been in a relationship on Valentine's Day, but hey, never had she really been in a serious relationship. It didn't really matter much though. Juliette was like some sort of lone wolf. She enjoyed to be by herself, she was the boss, she could decide what she wanted to do. But somewhow, today was a little different. Here she stood, at one of the loudest places to be at the moment, and everywhere se looked, people were hugging, holding hands, and making out. It kind of made Juliette a little nauseated, and as much as she hated to admit it, jealous.
She was standing quite alone, with her arms folded. There were a couple of younger first year boys. Of course they didn't think much of love. The nearest they got to a kiss was from their parents. And strangely, Juliette was enjoying herself, watching the kids entertain themselves with a pack of cards. They looked so serious, watching eachother's every move with skeptcal glares. Juliette even considered to sit herself down next to them and join in, but she wasn't that desperate.
Although it was a beautiful sunny day, Juliette was clothed for the evening. She wore a pair of old, battered sneakers on her feet, and a washed out red pair of jeans. And even though she looked very inappropriate, she was able to pull it off. She hid her torso underneath a black tank-top, and a leather jacket. She also had a cigarette that was in her hand, but hidden from any of the teacher's eyes. She stood just ouside the large okane doors of Hogwarts, and was getting a rather cool breeze in this shadow, so she strolled out into the bright, hot light, and made her way into the chaos of love.
She pushed aside anyone that would get in her way, and any remarks she would be given about her being single, she could have, and would have easily shut them up, but she wanted to see someone, a friend. It didn't mean anything that this friend was a boy, a close boy friend. Whatever. She wasn't going to spend the whole day by herself. And it took her a good few minutes before she saw him. He was far off from the noise of the carnival. She should have known. Alex wasn't much of a partying guy. But he would still join her on her late night outs into Hogsmeade. Just the two of them. Good times.
She walked along to him, and over her aviator sunglasses, she saw he wasn't alone. There was someone with him. What?! He was kissing a girl. Alex! He was making out with another girl. Juliette was almost convinced he was a little bent. But here he was, practically sucking the face off this poor girl. To be honest, Juliette didn't really like what she saw. Maybe it was that this girl was someone she'd never seen before. Alex would've told Juliette if he were seeing someone. Or maybe it was they way their bodies connected. Juliette frowned, but proceeded over to Alex, without a care in the world that he was still kissing this girl. Juliette pulled Alex away and shived her cigarette back between her lips, she stepped between him and the girl who Juliette couldn't name, and she leant her arm onto Alex's shoulder, winking to him. "Alex, you didn't tell me you were coming today. And I didn't know you were coming with someone ..." and Juliette turned around, and finally looked at the girl, but with very accusing eyes. It was instant that Juliette didn't like this girl, and she'd show it with no hesitation.
