14th of February, Valentines' day, or more precisely St. Valentines' day was marked as the day of the lovers. But if you ask Shakti, she'd just say one word, 'Nonsense'. Shakti believed that every day was special if you loved someone, and one especially didn't need 14th of February to celebrate that. Why, she had seen such prime example of love in her parents, itself! So much in love, they were, that at times they completely forgot they had a daughter who was in her teens. Shakti giggled at the thought. Even though she didn't think Valentine's day was really that special, but her parents don't necessarily agree with her viewpoint (even if they did express their undying love for each other in varied forms almost every day!); No doubt her father would have thought of something special for her mother today, so that she wouldn't be very much worried about her sister's weakening health.
When Shakti thought about her aunt, she was filled with worries instantly. Her mother's recent owl stated that her aunt's health was just declining day by day. Shakti, on one hand, was in denial, and was very much of the opinion that her aunt would be better within no time, and would be teaching her something delightful the next time she went to visit her; however, deep down she knew that perhaps, her aunt's days on this earth were limited. On another hand, Shakti felt guilty that she was here, at Hogwarts, rather than being at her aunt's side. But she reckoned her aunt would be much happier if she remained at Hogwarts.. yet, Shakti .. actually she was just confused as to how she felt, or what she thought of; which wasn't highly uncharacteristic of her. She was usually indecisive, and a highly confused being.
Shaking her head from these thoughts, she glanced at the tents, the fun and frolic in front of her. Hogwarts was hosting some sort of carnival for celebrating this 'special day' with one's special someone. Shakti wrinkled her nose, for she didn't have any special someone, although, she didn't want to have one either. She was very much content in having an arranged marriage, possibly like that of her parents. Smiling, she just sat on one of the benches, staring into space, oblivious of the fact that she was no longer alone, but joined by one of her newest friends, Rose Weasley.
