Dougie was a lucky, lucky young man. Dougie was going to choose Peyton anyway but Aurora had already dumped him with no knowledge of the kiss he and Peyton had shared. Which was the way Dougie liked it, and if Blay opened his big gob to Aurora about that, he would go ballistic. He wanted to stay friends with Aurora as she was such a great girl. If any asshole ever hurt her, they would have Dougie to answer to. But the actual realationship was in the past. Done. Gone.

Dougie's heart was in his throat. What if Peyton decided she didn't want him? That he was just a motal who needed to be a vampire before she done anything with him? What if this resturant wasn't suited to her? Dougie felt he needed Peyton, he'd been missing something, a piece of him, ever since Alyssa died - and it was Peyton. He'd only met her two times, yet the connection was so deep between the two. He looked around nervously, seeing if he could spot the girl - but he couldn't. He wasn't even sure she would come. His letter was very hasty - Meet me @ the Blackout asap - important news on who I ... y'know, want.
He wished he hadn't wrote it now. It sounded as if he were picking a prize from the stall, only to be chucked away when he didn't need it. He hoped Peyton knew him well enough to know he wasn't like that. He really, really liked her, and the warmth that flowed through his body when they touched was unexplainable to him. He just felt as though he needed her.

Over the next few days it seemed that Peyton was having a hard time finding reasons to get out of her bed since the run-in in hogsmeade happened with Dougie. She was hurt yet she hadn't really known why that she could be so hurt when she had just met Dougie. Maybe it was just because she had shared her secret with him and he was the first one to known what she was. That was what she told herself every morning when she woke up; however in truth, somewhere deep inside of her she knew that was not true. She knew it was more. There was no denying the feeling that ran through her when the two touched. And when he kissed her, oh when he kissed her it was amazing.

Just thinking about the kiss the two had shared sent Peyton's stomach into flutters and made her feel dizzy. She tried to keep the thoughts from her mind but it was impossible. That face was still haunting her dreams and her mind. It seemed that Dougie preoccupied the majority of her mind day and night.

Sitting in her bed she heard a light tap on the window. It wasn owl and as she looked around the room she knew that the letter the owl had tied to it was for her. The room was empty, all the other girls were currently out doing whatever they did. Climbing out of her bed she walked on over and opened the window letting the owl in. Untying the letter she read it. If she had a beating heart it would have picked up. She read and re-read the letter several times before she finally got off the bed and dressed.

Why she was going anyway she wasn't sure. With her luck he was just wanting to tell her that he was sorry for what he had done but he didn't want anything do do with her. And if that was the case he could have just done it through a letter rather then dragging her outside in the cold. Yet, she still hoped it was something good. If not, well, he would hear it.

Finally as she made her way into Blackout where he had asked her to meet him she looked around. She knew she would be able to find him easy. All she had to do was use all her sense. And she did. Within seconds her eyes fell upon Dougie. Her head once more felt dizzy. Grabbing onto the nearest thing to her she steadied herself before she walked over to him. "Alright you got me here, now talk," she said to him. "And I swear to god if you asked me to come here for no reason Dougie you will regret it," she finished now adding a slight sarcastic smile.

Dougie stopped. He blinked and looked at Peyton, wondering whether him wanting her was a good reason for coming, then smiled in relief at her sarcastic smile.
"You had me worried for a second there!" Dougie said to her. "Come on, sit down. I didn't ask you here so you could just stand there. Sit down! I'll buy you something. My treat." He pulled out a chair for the girl.
He forced himself to look her in the eyes, but he couldn't blurt anything out.
"Peyton, I ... My girlfriend broke up with me. I ... I told her. About ... when we met up at Hogsmeade. The reason why I did was ... I wanted her to break up with me. Because ..." He looked away, then, suddenly, it got blurted out - "'Cause I wanted you Peyton!"
He slapped his head. "Wasn't supposed to come out like that. I really, really like you. I know we don't know each other well and you and I aren't .... y'know? If you don't want me, I .... I completely understand."

Peyton felt slightly irritated and she wasn't sure why. She kept trying to ignore that tugging thought in her brain telling her that she needed to calm down. In honesty Peyton didn't want to calm down. Although just the sight of him seemed send her dead heart beating once again she couldn't help but want to be upset with him. She wanted to just smack him, to make him feel pain. But she couldn't. If she even considered it she knew she would hate herself for it.

Looking upon the boy she simply took a deep breath and calmed herself down. Her mind was always trying to get her into some kind of trouble it seemed. But as she heard his voice it all disappeared. A small smile began to creep across her pale face; however, she stopped it in its tracks. She still wasn't sure what the meeting was suppose to about.

Letting him speak she went ahead and sat down, looking at him intently waiting for whatever it was he was wanting to say. She wasn't sure if she wanted to hear it, but that didn't matter, it was coming whether she wanted it to or not. So instead she braced herself for the news. When he told her to get something he he would buy she snickered. "Do they sell bottled blood here or something?" she asked slyly. She could of course eat and drink regular things for the flavor and heck of it; however, it didn't do much to fill up her stomach or quench the thirst.

Then she fell silent as he rambled on. The words came out rushed from his mouth. Then her smile broke her facade and spread across her face. There was no way for her to hold it back now. The words seemed to set her free, it felt as if she was flying. All her worries about everything seemed to have been for nothing. "I- uhm, I don't know what to say," she said falling all over her words, it seemed her mind had offically stopped working. She wasn't even aware of the fact that she had not fed for a week now and the thirst was beginning to build up in her throat. "I am a vampire, Dougie, you can't ignore that fact," she said quietly so no one else could pick up on what she was saying. "I want you to be mine, but you need to remember I am not a normal girl," she finally said.

Attempting to ignore the leaping joy that seemed to radiate from her whole body she squeezed her lips making them form a straight line as if she was trying to hold the excitement inside of her. She almost felt like jumping up and down like a little girl would when she found she was going to have a princess birthdy party. Peyton knew though that if she let herself do that then Dougie would most likely look upon her like she was weird, which she was, but she didn't want him to change his mind. So instead she kept her mouth zipped shut and her hands clenched to the chair she was sitting in so she didn't go bouncing out of it.

Peyton knew that such a relationship between the two would be hard. Let alone if she really fell in love him it would just make everything worse. The two couldn't always be together unless of course... well she wasn't going to let the thought even cross her mind. Letting him speak Peyton tried to keep herself calm enough so when it was her turn to speak again she didn't end up making an idiot out of herself.

Once it was her turn to speak she opened her mouth slightly awaiting her excitement to come out. When it didn't she gave a thankful sigh and went to respond. "Nothing in life is easy, I've learned that the hard way, I'm in this for as long as you are," she said knowing it was the truth. Then she laughed as she made his next comment. "Oh darn, you totally ruined my plan Dougie," she said winking at him so he knew it was a joke and not at all serious. "Dont' worry I'm not one for biting humans, though I will admit you smell delicious.

It felt very, very right, with Peyton, and he just wanted to kiss her all over again. Oh, he hoped she hadn't read his mind! That would be embarrising and besides, he was worried what Peyton would think.
"Oh darn, you totally ruined my plan Dougie,Dont' worry I'm not one for biting humans, though I will admit you smell delicious."
Dougie laughed again. "Good to know I smell very good .... I think ?" He smiled at her gently, his lips showing and explaining to her how happy he was she'd accepted him.

It was rather difficult to keep herself from smiling, but Peyton finally gave up trying not to see to excited and she let herself smile. It was something she hadn't really done for awhile. Sure she smiled but it was never a true smile, it was one she plastered on her face to make it seem like she was okay. Now was a different story. She didn't have to try to pretend to happy because she truly was.

Although Peyton was doing a good job at not hearing Dougies thoughts she couldn't help when she did catch something. It dealt with kissing her. Smirking slightly she tilted her head to look at him not saying anything. "Its a good thing that you do; though I don't know if you your self would agree. It just makes you more tempting," she said mysteriously as she leaned in closer to his face. "It makes it harder for me to control myself," she said now speaking slowly and quietly. Then without much warning she leaned in the rest of the way and let their lips touch. Immediatly the heat returned to her body and she could feel her stomach go all goofy. Then pulling away only a bit she used her hand to turn his head to the side and she kissed his jaw bone. "Oh, so tempting," she said letting her lips gently glaze his skin. And then she moved toward his neck, kissing gently letting her lips linger for a moment then she went back to her normal sitting position and just looked at him with a glow of amusement in her eyes.

Dougie smiled as Peyton kissed him lightly. He'd always known he'd made the right desicion but this comfirmed it. When she stopped, he said, "So mindreading has it's perks."He leaned back over and kissed her softly, not daring to go any farther. He leaned back, grinning. "You're too cute." he commented. "What can I get you? I'm hungry." He smiled a little, relaxed. "So what've you been up to?"

What had she been up to lately? Well that was an easy question to think of the answer, but not so easy for the girl to answer. Could she really tell him that she had been lounging around in the common rooms upset ever since the run-in. That his face haunted her day and night, and she the kiss they had shared in Hogsmeade was all sheh could think about? Usually there would have been no way she would admit such things to a guy, but already she had done things she never thought she would do with Dougie. She told him what she was, she even showed him her ugly red eyes. And now, she was allowing herself to kiss him. Yes, she could tell him all of that stuff, but she wouldn't. She wouldn't tell him for the fact that it might just make him feel worse and she didn't want that. "What I have been doing? Thats a good question," she said trying to buy herself time to come up with a good answer, "Just this and that, hunting down some animals in the forest, sucking them dry, you know the usual," she said in an almost completly serious voice. Then she laughed. Ruining it. "I've been laying in bed staring at my dorm room ceiling," she said with a sigh.

There for awhile the girl had forgotten completely that she was in a place full of people bustling around. She almost laughed. That had never happened to her. With all her senses now heightned and the whole mindreading buisness she was never able to forget the other people. "I can't believe it, I can't hear anyone's thoughts unless I actually concentrate, but they aren't just coming to me," she said quietly and very amused. When had this hapepned?

She didn't have time to figure it out because she suddenly remembered that he had asked what he could get her. Oops. She wasn't sure and it wasn't as if her body needed anything. "Hmm, I guess I'll just have a soda or something," she answered.

Peytons laugh truly was one of the things she was always told was catchy. It wasn’t a small dainty laugh like some girls had and yet it wasn’t a loud obnoxious one either. The best way to put it, it was just a laugh. At least she never saw anything special about but others did. She had gave up long ago trying to figure out why people loved her laugh. As Dougie’s arms snaked around her she just smiled. Did she think she would get up? Of course. “If I want to see you I guess I’ll have to now won’t I?” she asked with a slight humor in her voice.

The silence seemed to find her once again as the quiet took over her once more. She wasn’t sure on what to do now. Things had been settled between the two but now it Peyton’s mind seemed to have failed her on coming up with anything else to say or do. Like always. It wasn’t like there wasn’t anything running through her mind, her own thoughts were. But Peyton couldn’t understand how it so suddenly fixed itself and she wasn’t in pain trying to keep others thoughts out of her mind. Right now she was racking her brain trying to think of a possible reason for the sudden change. Just on her way over to Blackout she had heard thoughts, now it was diffferent, weird, she wasn’t sure at all what was going on. Shrugging it off though she attempted to pull herself out of her reverie and back into Blackout.

Looking at Dougie she seen the waitress put two drinks down in front of them and stalk off to the back. Apparently she was not at all happy about their order. Then again they were sitting at one of her tables doing nothing. But if she knew Peyton wasn’t one to actually eat human food she might have been a little nicer. Then a giggle escaped from Peytons rose colored lips. She couldn’t help it. Yet she wasn’t sure why she was even laughing. It just happened. “Do you want to get out of here before that waitress attacks us?” she asked him.

" S'pose you will," Dougie smiled to her.Silence filled the air, as Dougie and seemingly Peyton didn't know what to say. That, or Peyton was waiting for him to talk ... Damn he hoped not! He had never known what to say to a girl, date wise. He was going to have to find out about that, if he wanted to keep Peyton with him. He chewed his lip, thinking about what to do, when - “Do you want to get out of here before that waitress attacks us?”
He looked first at the girl in his arms, then at the moody waitress.
"I think we should," he laughed, getting up and dragging Peyton with him. He slammed a few coins on the table and, laughing, rushed Peyton out of the door.
