Standing in front of the full length mirror, Brody ran his fingers threw his hair as he examined the long scar on his side from when he was younger. The scar that constantly reminded him of how his little sister died, and he survived. The worst memory that the man held within him. Shaking his head he buttoned up his shirt and turned away from the long, silver rimmed mirror, letting his heels hit the ground as he walked out of his dorm, and downstairs to the what seemed empty common room.
The fire was blazing, the bright colors flowing up wards, as ashes flew up threw the chimney, and some onto the floor around the fireplace, as the grey eyed boy went and took his seat on the maroon couch placed directly in front of the warm fire. Numerous things running threw his crowded mind as he starred blankly to the fire across the room.
His thoughts were consumed on his music, his family, but mainly a girl. One girl who had always seemed to make his creativity flourish, but a girl who he had broken apart with numerous times, and was actually doubting that she would ever come back to him. But one thing in the back of his mind told him to keep trying, because lately Brody started to realize every since he broke apart from that girl, from Rachel, that his music hasn't been as good as it was in the past...That even his mood wasn't as bubbly as it had been in the past.
Sighing he just closed his eyes, moving his hand in front of his face rubbing both of his eyes carefully as he just at there thinking about all of the things he has done wrong in the past, starting off with Rachel.

Rachel glided into the common room, yawning slightly since she had slept in. The girl had no classes today and decided she'd just hang around for awhile, but her thoughts always drifted towards one person in particular. That person had constantly broken and fixed her heart over the years they had been at Hogwarts, and she couldn't help but still care for him. Did she love him? Maybe, she wasn't so sure. Her brother had told her to move on, but she found she couldn't. No matter what she did, her thoughts always focused on Brody.
Rachel sighed as she blew her bangs out of her face, not noticing the said boy on the couch. Her nose had been buried in a book for nearly an hour now, it was captivating, but sad all at the same time. Dear John was the title. It was one of the Muggle books she had been reading lately and it was so sad. She felt some tears start to form in her eyes and she closed the book, placing it in her lap. Rachel rubbed her temples, sniffling as she tried to keep back the tears, but sadly feeling some fall from her eyes. The book was just as sad as her relationship with Brody.

Brody, sitting there so involved in thinking of his new song he was workign on didn't even notice the girl his song was about sitting next to him on this couch. Not until he heard sniffling and his head shot up looking up at the girl. His head tilted sideways as he noticed tears on the girl he had cared so much about cheek. Just winging it he scooted closer wiping the tears from under her eyes. "Whats wrong Raych." Yeah it had been probably about a month since they had a real conversation, but hey he cared, so was there somethign wrong with him worrying about her???
But just as soon as he noticed her tears his eyes went down to her lap where he spotted the book she had been reading. Now everything was clear why she was crying. Brody wasn't a stupid lad, he read, a lot actually, and Dear John was one of those books he has read. Just frowning slightly he moved his hand away from her and frowned slightly. "Was the book that sad Raych?"

Rachel stiffened at the contact and shot a look at the boy instinctively. She knew his touch from anywhere, and she always tried to act mad at him when she could. The girl turned away from him, standing up and tossing the book onto the table beside the couch. The hardback book easily opened to the title page where the inscription was placed. Yes, she had been reading a book from her on-and-off boyfriend. The one beside her who made her so crazy, but she was curious at the time as to what it was about and she couldn't put it down.
"Maybe..." she murmured, keeping her distance from the boy. Did he have to call her Rach? Just as it had been before? That always got to her. Nobody called her that but Leon, but he was her twin so it didn't matter. The fact that the girl in the book found someone else and left John hanging was seemingly almost the same to her as the relationship she had with Brody, except she was the one left in the cold. The other Gryffindor girls told her they had seen him with countless girls right after they broke up, and that just made the pain worse. She loved him, she still did, but hearing that just tore her heart apart.
Rachel whirled on her heel and glared at the boy, her eyes flashing dangerously as she focused on him. "And why the bloody hell do you care? Don't you have some new girlfriend to go off to and 'care' about?" she snapped. She didn't want to be mad at him, she didn't, but she hated feeling this way. She wanted him back, but she didn't want to be constantly worried he was going to leave.
