Her stomach twisted and knotted. What was going on? What had he done to her? Her insides where going crazy. The blood that ran through her very veins burned and scorched in pain. Who could help her? She could think of no one other than Ashford, the last man she truly felt for. But would he help her? Or could he? The young woman had a feeling the only one who could help her would be Jack…or Bellatrix, the very person who put her in this position.

Standing outside his apartment, Alexis Grindlewald took a sharp breath. Could she do it? Could she possibly burden him with her own trouble‘s and ask him for his help? Perhaps he would find it in his heart to help her, they where still on friends basis anyway. But this was much more that asking for a place to stay, this was her asking him for all the help he could give her while she fought to get her son back. The son that had been brutally taken away from her.

Wrapping the door of the apartment, Alexis‘s waited for a moment before shrugging her shoulders painfully and opening the door, which introduced her to his luxurious apartment. But how could she possibly stand there in pain and admire the lovely architecture of the room. “Ash?” She called out weakly while holding onto the nearest wall for support.

Ash was in his study wearing his aqure glass.He was typing up some work.He was very busy lately. He did not know why but his life seemed busy. He had no time to socialize with others. He had been stuck at work and at home. He just wanted to be done. He wanted to be in bed sleeping and going out to party. All he really wanted was some fun in his life.

He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He was done for the night and was heading off to bed. He was staring up a bit, so the room was not a mess when he got. Then he heard his name. The voice was so familiar. It could not be !Alexis? Ash hurried out the door of his study and to the front of his door. It was her."What the.."He said and paused. He saw the pain she was in. "Whats wrong?"He said walking up to her. He grab her to supported her up.

He guided her to the living room so she could lay down on the couch. He run to the bathroom and got a wash cloth. He put it under warm water and ringed it out. He rushed back to her and handed it too her. "What wrong?"He asked her again. He was worried about her. He never did truly lose his feelings for her and he did care even if she did not think the same.

For a moment, when Ashford came into sight, all the pain that shot through her body seemed to disappear. There he was, as handsome as ever. “Ash, I…” Alexis’s was cut off once again, and bent over allowing a soft cry escape her lips. How had this managed to happen? How could she have allowed it to? Alexis’s failed to watch as Ash came towards her and gave her the support she needed. He asked her what was wrong, and the young brunette was lost for words.

What was right? Only a few hours before hand she had accepted a proposal to a man she didn’t feel much for. The only reason she did accept his hand in marriage was because she was pregnant with his child. And only after accepting the proposal she went into labour, giving birth to her son, the son that was taken from her. The way she was left, was all Jack’s doings. She was in crucial pain.

Resting on his couch, Alexis’s stared up at the ceiling, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to barge in so unexpectedly.” She whispered to him, her gaze now resting on Ashford’s, “But you where the first person that came to mind. Ash, there is something wrong with me. It is as if poisons runs through my veins, but that is not it…I don’t know what is wrong with me. But I do know that no healer can help me.” She whispered to him and took the damp cloth from his hands, rubbing the cold sweat from her forehead. “I just need a place to stay for the night, I can’t go home…” She trailed off with a sigh.

Ash kneeled next to Alexis. He found it upsetting to see her in so much pain. He hated how she talked about not being able to be helped. He know there must be some way to cure her of her pain. The only problem what was causing it."No,no don't be sorry. I'm glad your here."He said to her smiling at her. "Some one got to help you Alexis .There has to be a way to stop the pain."He said determined to help. "I'm going to help you. You came to me to me for help.That's what I'm going to do."He said pushing her hair back.

"Your allowed to stay,well I'm forcing you to stay until you get better. I'm not letting you out of my site."He said to her. He wasn't just going to let her stay and send her off the next day. He was not going to lose her again,like last time. 'What happened Alexis?"He asked. He did not know what was going on in her life and wondered what took her all the way back to him.

His words brought a small smile to her lips. He was so sincere and loving, it was hard to think that there was a time when they used to be together. She frequently evoked those memories, probably the reason why she came to his door and not anyone else’s. She had lost him, only to come across a man like Jack Riddle, who was Ashford’s opposite really. Jack, who was cruel and didn’t give a damn about anyone, only if he benefited from it and she was a fool to believe that there was genuine feelings. Ash pushed her brunette hair out of her steel grey eyes, and she stared at him. “I was hoping that maybe the pain could possibly ease in a few hours time…” Taking his hand she laced her fingers through his, “I am genuinely grateful that you’re willing to help me.”

Then he asked what had happened. Over the last few months, many things had happened. She got knocked up by Jack, who at the time she wasn’t on good terms with. She then, moved in with Jack thinking that it was the right thing to do…and then he proposed to her. Oh how foolish she was to actually believe he wanted to marry her. And then she became a mother to her beautiful son who was taken from her. It was safe to say that her life was screwed right now.

Looking at Ash, she allowed a small sigh to escape her lips, “This would be the doings of Jack Riddle. He would be the father of my new born son. Long story short, I tried to take my son and leave and this is what I get. I don’t even know what the asshole did.” Alexis’s admitted, looking down at their laced fingers, How have you been keeping anyway?” She asked, wanting to keep the spotlight off her life for a moment.

Ash smiled when she said that she was happy that he was helping here. "It is really ok, I'm just glad to see you again."he smiled a bit. It was truly amazing to see her again. Not the greatest time but maybe that's what need to happen in order to bring them back together. Maybe it was fate for both of them. He did not know, all he cared about was being by her side again. He was going to help her no matter what got in the way.He truly did not want to fail her.

He had listen to what happened to her.His hand laced between her fingers made old memories came back.It had remind him of old times when they did go out. How much he loved her and how he lose her. She was his best friend and he wanted to be again. He was not going to let her go.

When he heard her story about Jack Riddle and her son. rage filled his body. How could a man do such a horrible thing to a woman like this. He want to bash his head in but he could not,he was his higher up as a death eater and could not do anything about it. Guilt washed over the young woman quickly. Over the past while, she had lost contact to Ashford. Why? Simply because Jack didn't wish for the mother of his son to be in any contact with a ministry worker, not even her best friend. Frowning, Alexis looked at Ash, "I'm sorry I haven't been around as much as i used to be..." She apologized softly. However even when all her contact was cut off, that never stopped her mind from wandering to her previous love.

Finally having the chance, Alexis's steel blue eyes scanned her surroundings. It had been a while since she had last visited his home. Somehow she could still remember the details, vaguely. It was late at night, and she had called over, just to crawl into his bed and have him wrap his arms protectively around her small frame. "I miss you..." The witch brought her eyes to meet his, wondering what he would have to say.

"About me?" Alexis's smiled, managing to hide her pain. "There is nothing to tell. I've really done nothing with my life, except fall pregnant and land myself in a bad relationship." She laughed, trying to avoid the awkwardness of the situation. "I suppose this is just a rough patch in my life...hopefully I'll fall back into a good pattern once again." The only good thing that had ever been in her life was Ashford, and she was stupid enough to let him go.

Ash simply smiled when she apologized to him. He thought it unnecessary."No don't apologize. I should have done something."He said to her running his fingers through her hair.He felt angry at himself. He should have never let this happened to her. If they had only stayed together it would have never happened. She would have never been with Jack and had a baby son and tossed to the side left for dead. He felt like it was all his fault . He felt liked he had failed Alexis,he had failed his best friend.



Ash looked into Alexis steel blue eyes. He remembered them well. Her eyes where probably his favorite thing about Alexis . He remembered the first time they meet. He never looked her up but looked into her eyes. You could have said it was truly love at first site. Even tho they did broke up,he did never stop loving her. When her his eyes meet hers his heart melted a bit. "I missed you too."He said softly. "I missed you ever since you left."He said giving a little smile.

"Yes about you."He said to her. When she had told him and she laughed,he laughed with her.Just to make her feel comfortable."Well I'm going to help you get over that patch."He said getting up. He went to go grab a blanket and some water for her. He went back into the living room put the water down and layed the blanket on her gently. "Here drink some water."He said giving her the water.

The day that Alexis’s left, truly shattered her. She had always found it hard to keep her distance from Ash, even when they argued, it wouldn’t last all that long, simply because she couldn’t keep her distance. Hell, she really thought they where happy and she finally believed that they both had settled down. They where best friends and in love, what could possibly have made her walk out on him? And still, even till this day, Ashford Bliss was the only man she had truly let in, truly loved.

What exactly had forced her out of his arms, of his life? A drunken night and its consequence. Despite, how Ashford claimed that he was drunk and Alexis’s believed him, he still managed to fall into bed with another, and not her. While he was out enjoying himself, she was at their home, waiting patiently for him to return, only to be given the bitter feeling of disappointment. Alexis’s didn’t take too long to come to her senses and she left, too heart broken to stay around any longer.

Alexis’s was thankful that she could still rely on Ash, could still turn to him when she was having a bad day, and could still love him through all the things they had went through. As he came with a blanket and water, she allowed him to lay the blanket over her and hand her the glass of water. And as Ashford did so, Alexis’s moved in, planting a small kiss on his lips, not wanting to break away.

Ash was caught of guard when she kissed him.He was not expecting a kiss from her. HE could help but kiss her back but then he pulled away quickly. For a moment, there was hope, for a moment Alexis’s truly believed that there still was lingering feelings, that Ash returned the feelings she felt for him. But, disappointment soon washed over her, like a sharp wave. Their lips no longer remained sealed, the small connection that was made, was quickly broken. Allowing a small sigh to escape her lips, and the hurt quickly became visible in her features, particularly when he got up to move away from her.

His apology meant very little to Alexis, she was determined to persuade him otherwise. Pushing herself slowly off the sofa, the young woman approached him, a small frown placed on her lips, “Ash, please, you must understand. Yes, you hurt me in the past, but that doesn’t mean that will reoccur in the future.” Alexis’s whispered, placing her hand on his cheek. She wanted, no needed him to understand how much she still cared. She had never stopped caring from him since she walked out that door, even more so today, this is what brought her to his door once again, her feelings where simply controlling her heart. “I still care greatly for you…”
