Rachel raised an eyebrow as she noticed someone come into the library, her eyes wandering upwards from the pages of Hogwarts, A History to inspect the newcomer. When she had decided the person was not one of interest to her, her gaze focused back on the old, worn text before her. Rachel was never one to socialize, it wasted time in her opinion. At least, that's what she told people when she was confronted about it. Her real reason was that she was horribly shy.
When it came to new people, many things run through her mind. What were they like? Would they want to be friends? How long will the friendship last? Will they get bored of her and just leave? What if they died? All these fears and more would run through her mind, she couldn't help it. It was part of her thought process, and something Will she said she needed to work on. Rachel envied her brother's outgoing nature. He could make friends with anyone. It was odd he got placed into Slytherin and she into Gryffindor.
"Oh well, que sera sera," she murmured, turning away from the door on the couch and burying her nose back into the book, not noticing the door open yet again. "Chapter 12..."

Lena sighed as she stared at the book in front of her in the Gryffindor common room. “Why do you not hold any useful information within you!” she muttered angrily to it with a sigh while running a hand through her hair. She took another glance at the book before glaring at it then slammed the book shut with a little more than necessary, ignoring the snicker from one of the other students in the common room. “Off to the land of books…” she groaned as she stood up and shoved her parchment and books into her shoulder bag, heaved it over her shoulder and headed towards the library.
She walked down the few flights of stairs from the Gryffindor tower towards the library with a slight frown in place. It’s not that she didn’t enjoy going the library, in fact she enjoyed reading and loved spending time in the library. She every so often wondered why she wasn’t placed in Ravenclaw. Maybe it was the fact that she just hated doing long essays especially ones about useless information about the founders of Hogwarts, that or there were numerous other reasons her rushing into things without thinking being one of them.
Lena opened the door to the library and looked around scanning the room for open tables. She saw a group of Ravenclaws in one corner and various students scattered about at others. She spotted an empty table right next to a couch where another girl sat. She walked over towards the girl and heard her say which chapter she was on out loud. “Good book?” she asked setting down her bag on the table taking out some parchment along with her quill and ink.

"For the most part, twelfth time reading it," she answered, looking up at the newcomer before her. Rachel knew she was a Gryffindor by the looks of her uniform robes, but she hadn't seen her before... Wait, she had seen her before. At least, maybe it was this girl.
Being a seer, Rachel got frequent visions of something coming up. Whether it was someone she knew or if it was clear enough to see depended on the situation. If it was something she had to figure out, it comes out blurry, over time it will become clearer in her mind's eye. Earlier, she had had a vision of herself meeting a new person. Friend or foe was not disclosed to her, but she recognized the familiar outline of the girl before her.
"You'rein Gryffindor right? I think we're in the same year..." she sat up on the couch and eyed the other female. Today was a day to take her brother's advice. Let's start a conversation with the girl, see what she's like. "I'm Rachel..."

Lena smiled at the girl and took a seat nearest the table and turned in her seat to continue talking to the girl before her. A slightly amused look appeared on Lena’s face as the girl said it was her twelfth time reading it. She turned her head to the side to read the title, ‘Hogwarts, A History’ a smile appeared on her face. “Very nice choice I’ve only read it once but now that I think about it that book will defiantely help on this dreaded essay. I’ll have to find a copy of it here in a bit.” She said.
Lena took a moment to look at the girl she had seen her in passing and as she thought about it she thought she might even have a few classes with her. ‘You're in Gryffindor right? I think we're in the same year...’ the girl said. Lena smiled and nodded. “Yea I’m in Gryffindor and a sixth year. I think we have a few classes together actually…” trailed off wondering if she should have mentioned because she had no excuse for not talking to the girl before her, she was in the same year and house.
She gave the girl whos name she just found out was Rachel, “Hi Rachel, I’m Lena Clark. Sorry I didn’t introduce myself 6 years ago.” She said with a smile and a slight wave of her hand deciding not to shake Rachel’s hand since she always felt like dork when she did.

“Very nice choice I’ve only read it once but now that I think about it that book will defiantely help on this dreaded essay. I’ll have to find a copy of it here in a bit.”
"You can use mine if you'd like" she shrugged, offering the book to the other girl, smiling slightly. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all...
“Yea I’m in Gryffindor and a sixth year. I think we have a few classes together actually…”
"Oh yeah, sorry I haven't been very social... I'm not a people person..." she smiled sheepishly. It was the truth, she didn't enjoy people in general, she was too afraid of being hurt.
"I’m Lena Clark. Sorry I didn’t introduce myself 6 years ago.”
"No problem, as I said before I'm not good with people.." she chuckled, waving back slightly, glad she didn't have to shake hands. She always found it very awkward. Rachel placed her book on the table and moved from the couch to the chair beside Lena.

A look of surprise passed across her face momentarily before it was gone as Rachel offered her the copy of the book she was reading. “Really thanks.” She said with a smile and took the book then stopped. “You sure you don’t mind I mean you were reading it I don’t want to interupt you.” She said and started to hand the book back then stopped and repeated the motion twice more before stopping and setting the book on the table. “Thanks.” She said with a smile.
‘Oh yeah, sorry I haven't been very social... I'm not a people person...’ Rachel said to her with a sheepish grin. “Don’t worry I don’t tend to put myself out there all that much. I am usually perfectly content with reading a book then gabbing on about the latest gossip at lunch.” She said.
She was glad that Rachel didn’t seem to hold anything against her for not introducing herself sooner. Rachel seemed like a nice enough person, some who was obviously shy but nice none the less. “So Rachel what brings you to the library? Anything particular or just to read?” she asked.

"Just getting cabin fever in the common room... Kinda unfamiliar territory when you don't know anyone well" she shrugged, leaning back into the chair slightly. Rachel kept herself focused on the girl before her, she seemed more familiar every moment she spent with her.
Soon enough, Rachel allowed herself to relax. It was a rare thing to do in her case, she never relaxed with new people unless she had known them for years. Will was the only person in her family she could open up to for all her life, maybe she'd take his advice and finally loosen up. "What's your paper about anyway?"

Lena nodded in understanding. “Yea the common room can become quite constricting at times… and you don’t know someone so you can no longer say you know no one.” She said to Rachel with a smile. She flipped open the book and looked at the index until she found which chapter the founders where in and started to flip to it. “I really should have started this earlier it’s due the day after tomorrow but I dread History of Magic it’s just so blah, well for the most part it is especially when it comes to the numerous goblin wars.”
Lena sighed and made a face at the book as Rachel asked what the essay was about. “Ugh Professor Marchelic assigned an essay about the founders of Hogwarts. Sadly writing their names, qualities they admire most and the rivalry between Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin doesn’t fill up a whole 2 feet of parchment. Besides I have to cite my sources so Hogwarts, A History will definitely help. Thanks so much for letting me borrow it, searching for a book I here takes ages half the time.” She ranted to Rachel. “Sorry I tend to rant a lot.” she added with a sheepish smile.

"No, I guess I can't" Rachel laughed, thinking that this could be fun, having a new friend. Well, needless to say the common room and the dorms will feel less lonely with Lena around. Will was gonna be so proud.
"It's not a problem" she chuckled, watching her new friend with a smile. "I don't talk much at all usually, so you can just balance me out"

"I don't talk much at all usually, so you can just balance me out" Rachel told her with a smile. “Well I’d be happy to balance out the silence and the talking. Although silence and being quite isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Well as long as it isn’t an awkward silence, those are really well awkward.” She said with a light chuckle.
Lena gave new friend a smile she hoped she’d be able to help Rachel break out of her shell and if not she was just happy to have a new friend. “So Rachel what do you like to usually do? Quidditch or flying interest you at all?” she asked as she found the page in Hogwarts, A History that she needed and quickly scanned the page for any useful information. “Don’t worry I’m an excellent multi-tasker can talk and read at the same time as well as read and walk.” She said with a grin.

"I enjoy flying" she smiled in response, watching the girl collect the information out of her book. "Haven't tried Quidditch though, my mother said she used to play."
Rachel laughed at her comment about multi-tasking, being an epic multi-tasker herself she could relate. "Of course! All girls are required to have the epic ability to multi-task. It's in our DNA so we can keep the boys in line.

“I love flying of course I like anything that goes fast. Back home during the summer I street race cars with my brother it’s a complete and total rush. Really fun it’s like everything else slips away and you’re just in that moment of total freedom.” She said with a slightly far off look on her face for a moment thinking of racing before she shook her head clear and open the ink well dipped her quill in and began to write her essay.
“That’s cool that your mum use to play. I would have probably tried out for the house team but it’s full. But I’m fine with just flying around for fun. We should go together sometime if you want.” She said as continued to write. “My whole family is muggles so I’m the first to come to Hogwarts, otherwise I’m sure my brother would have tried for the team.”
She chuckled and nodded at Rachel’s comment about multi-tasking being in their DNA. “Yes multi-tasking is a definite advantage we have over them. So what do you usually do for fun besides flying that is?” Lena asked curiously wanting to know more about new found friend.

"Interesting" Rachel grinned, she and her own brother used to go to those races when they were young, they grew up in the muggle world for awhile, until their Hogwarts letters came and they found out their parents were not really their parents. The twins had been kidnapped as babies and thankfully, their mother had found them.
"Yeah! Sounds like a plan. My mom gave me her old Firebolt my first year. Never got to use it that year, and its old, but it's pretty sturdy" she grinned, smiling slightly when she noticed Lena spacing off and then snapping back into getting her paper done.
"Well, I'm kinda boring. I don't do much. Mostly read, I write, sometimes I either play or sing some kind of music... Not much"
