Scorpius laughed to himself bitterly as thoughts of the winter holidays came back to him. He had been hoping for peace, but with these rich pureblood families, peace was never something that took place. Especially with the Malfoy’s, and while most of them maintained their appearances of looking prim and proper, underneath was insanity. His mother, unaware of the consequences, was rooting for his permanent residence to be her house, and his controlling grandfather and father’s dispute would last forever and only grow larger. Not to mention Scorpius’ father, your everyday pedophile, had been getting just as close to Isabella as he had been. He had begun to think that the only rational member of his family was, despite her utter insanity, was Bellatrix. Obviously Scorpius would never call on his family for this – that would be disrespectful and Lucius would make sure this never occurred – which was why he sat upon the couch chuckling resentfully at the situation.
Scorpius had always surrounded himself with the best people. However, he could only confide in a few of them. It could have something to do with the fact that Scorpius wasn’t very social besides him interacting with women, or it could be that not many Slytherins were to be trusted. He had known Nate since childhood and it made sense that he and Scorpius were friends; everyone was aware that the two shared many of the same tactics. And, despite Scorpius not being very close with Draco, Blaise Zabini had his father had been best friends.
It was rather late, and most were in bed by now. Nevertheless, Scorpius still sat upon the common room couch staring at the dancing flames in the fireplace. He was quite bored and wanted something interesting to do besides sitting in the Slytherin common room. He could hear silent steps beginning to grow louder in the dungeon corridor and finally he could feel the presence of someone entering the common room. He raised an eyebrow and question, turning around in hope that this person could save him from this jaded phase. [/color]
