--Alice was, once again, breaking the dress code. But eventually, people learn to expect this from you, and when the staff can not get you to change, no matter how many detentions you get, they eventually give up. The Ravenclaw Prefect was wearing a skyblue tanktop and black skinny jeans under her Ravenclaw school cloak.
--Alice, at five past eight, strolled into the Library. She was a little late, but she hoped that boy wouldn't mind. What was his name again? Jay..son! Yes, that was it. A smile spread across Alice's lips as she rounded the bookshelf. Instead of searching the area for the boy, she turned to search for an Encyclopedia on Herbology. Once she had found it, Alice smirked and turned around.

Jayson was what you called the lovable guy. No matter what he did or said, everyone just seemed to gather around him. He had this aura around him that made people feel amazing around him. To top it all off, Jayson was not one of those cocky guys who recieved attention. No, he made sure to treat everyone equally. Jayson was most definatly the part animal also. He spent every weekend at parties around the castle, getting drunk and having a good time. Jayson did love to have a good time.
Despite all these lovable qualities about Jayson, he was sadly not the smartest child around. Hell, he was almost failing every class. The only class he was passing with flying colours was indeed Care of Magical Creatures. He had a way with animals like he did with people. That is why he was spending his friday night studying. See, he was failing Herbology like many other classes, and needed to pass or his parents would have his head. Luckily, the girl who sat next to him in that class, a Ravenclaw name Alice, agreed to help him. That is where he was headed now.
Jayson walked into the Library with the usual lovable smile on his face. On his way to this Library, he had recieved many greetings from students going back to their common rooms. Jayson knew he was late and was very angry at this. He was never one for time managment. He often arrived at classes late. Jayson looked around the Library, looking for that one Ravenclaw girl that would save his butt from being grounded for enternity. His eyes scanned the room until he found her, a smile washing over his face yet again. He advanced towards her, his friendly atmosphere radiating off of him.
"Hey Alice! Sorry I am late, I hope I didn't keep you waiting," Jayson said in his friendly voice, making sure that he came across as a loving person. After all, he didn't want to seem like a jerk. His reputation meant everything to him. Yes, cazring about a reputation was indeed shallow, but he just couldn't help it. He never ever wanted anyone to this poorly off him.

--Just as Alice turned, Jayson came into sight. "Hey Alice! Sorry I am late, I hope I didn't keep you waiting." Shaking her head, the girl replyed, "Of course not. We said eight, right? I only just got here." Smiling, the girl thought what she thought almost everytime she saw him; Oh my GOSH he is SO cute!
--Alice then walked over to a table, glancing back at him and smiling the whole time. She just couldn't help it. He was such a nice guy, it was hard not to glue your eyes to the boy! Sitting down, Alice opened the book, and bit her lip. "What exactly did you want to start on first?" she asked, not really thinking straight. She couldn't remember what they had learned in class the other day, and she knew that was going to be a problem.

To be honest, Jayson began to think of something very sad. This was, in fact, his first time he has ever step foot in this Library since he came to Hogwarts. Lets just say the Library scene was not his thing. Knowledge just didn't seem to be able to stick into his head. It was in one ear and out the other. He really did try to learn, but it was just so hard for him. He was more of the partying type and the social scene was his calling, not the Library.
The first thing Jayson ever noticed about Alice was her smile. She had an amazing smile. It was so perfect. He really was a boy for smiles. Her smile always stood out in a crowd though, that was for sure. Jayson always made sure to find at least one good quality in a person. It wasn't hard to find one in Alice, that was for sure.
Jayson sat down at one of the round tables located around the Library and took out his books. He knew this was going to be a challenge for him. He was never that good at Herbology. Alice was so smart. He never quite understood how one person could have so much knowledge in their head.
"Well, the last thing I remember learning from that class was. 'Welcome first years to Herbology. In this class we will be working with plants!' After that it is kind of a blank," Jayson said, laughing afterwards. Sad thing was, that was kind of the only thing he did remember from that class. It was just one huge blur to him, a blur that could not become in focus.

--Well, the last thing I remember learning from that class was. 'Welcome first years to Herbology. In this class we will be working with plants!' After that it is kind of a blank. Halfway through, Alice began to giggle. She could see where that one was heading, and it was kinda funny. Sad, but funny. "Well then. We may have to meet up here more often, I doubt I can teach you five years of info in one hour." Alice began to laugh again.
--"Okay. Let's start basic basic. Do you remember the Devil's Snare?"
Alice rested her head on her hand, and propped her elbow up on the table. Waiting for an answer, Alice stared intently at Jayson, taking in his appearence yet again. What a sucker for guys she was. [/blockquote]

Jayson laughed along with Alice, his humor radiating off of his being. Jay loved his humor with all of his being. He would die if he wasn't funny. He wanted everyone to have the time of their lives when they were with him. Though he treasured his humor immensely, he at times wished to be smarter. He knew that knowledge would get you further in this world than what humor would. Maybe it was time for him to grow up and take the world more seriously. When Jayson began to think of this, it made him laugh. He knew he would never ever be a serious person. It would be too weird for him to be serious.
"I wouldn't mind meeting up more often. Just not in the Library because after all, I do have a reputation to protect. If people see me in here, they might actual start thinking that I am trying to be serious for once in my life. Look, I get goosebumps just thinking about me being serious," Jayson said pointing to his arm, a huge smile on his face as laughter escaped his lips. There he was, yet again, making a joke out of a situation. Jayson kept eye contact with Alice, not daring to look away. She was intoxicating to him, that was a fact. There was just something about a girl who knew all the answers that made him want to know more.
" Oh was that the ray gun that the evil Dr. Forester used in issue # 778 of The Adventures of Merlin the Wizard, fight for the Devil Snare?" Jayson said with a huge grin, knowing that wasn't the right answer. What could he say, he knew nothing of Herbology. He knew that the only reason why he was passing was because his father went to school with the teacher.

--Alice starting laughing again. Not just because of his words, but because being around this boy made her happy. It made her feel like she'd never felt before. Light. Free. It was just fun to be around him. "Haha. Well. I don't think there is anything wrong with not being serious." Sticking out her tongue, Alice continued. "If everyone was serious, it would be a BOOORRINNNG world we have here."
Smiling Alice then listened to Jayson's guess to the Devil's Snare. --"OH! Close!" From somewhere in the Library, a librarian shushed the girl. Giggling, Alice lowered her voice and said, "But no." Flipping to the Devil's Snare in the Herbology book, Alice read a paragraph and then looked back up to Jayson. --'Devil's Snare is composed of a mass of soft, springy tendrils and vines that possess some sense of touch. Devil's Snare uses its creepers and tendrils to ensnare anyone who touches it, binding their arms and legs and eventually choking them. The harder a person struggles against Devil's Snare, the more faster and more tightly it binds them; if they relax, it will not kill them as quickly. Devil's Snare prefers a dark, damp environment and shrinks away from fire, so a well-placed flame spell such as bluebell flames will drive it away from its victims.'--Puckering her lips, Alice stared intently at Jayson. Then her face lit up and she began to speak. "Well. Basically, Devil's Snare are soft vines that will kill you if you move in them. So, um. They don't like the light, so if you light up the place, they should back off. Or die." Alice was once again having trouble thinking straight. His eyes were on her's, and her mind was going blank. She didn't want to think, she wanted to just stare at him, and stop talking. Shaking her head, Alice smiled. [/blockquote]

Jayson couldn't help but smile at this girl. Her views on life were very similar to his. He knew people thought he was a goofball and that he would never take things seriously. It was just nice to know that not the whole world thought that being serious was the way to go. Why hadn't he notice this girl before? Sure he seen her around in classes and stuff, but he never really really noticed this girl. It surprised him as to how much they were a like, even if they were in different houses.
"I totally agree with you. I hate how people take this world so seriously. I am the live in the moment kind of guy. Who cares about the consequences of tomorrow or what my actions may do. As long as I am happy, that is all that matters to me," Jayson said with a bright smile as always. His smile was like his signature move. He never left a room without it. There was hardly ever a frown on his face. He hated frowns with a passion. They were so evil and boring.
"Seriously, when would I ever need to know this? Like its not like I am going to wake up some morning in a huge pile of Devil's snare. That stuff just doesn't grow wildly in the woods. I will never understand this class. I would much rather use that period to go party or something," Jayson said, joking yet again. Though he was a party animal, he knew he needed herbology in life. He has never used it yet, but he knows that the day will come when he will need it.

--Alice smiled. Personally, Alice did what she wanted, when she felt like doing it. Then she worried about consequences later. It seems this boy was the same, and this made Alice happy.
--When the beautiful boy started talking about not understanding the class and it's meaning, Alice tried to shed some light as to what she thought. "Well. Wouldn't it make sense that a good number of us are going to become Order Members or Aurors? If that is so, then this information benefits those people. For others, it is just standard learning." Alice giggled and stared up at the endless-seeming ceiling. But quickly her gaze flitted back to the boy; his eyes and smile making her stomach do numb flips.
--Turning in the book again, Alice said, "Do you remember the Abyssinian shrivelfig? I barely do, but do you remember what we use them for?"
Alice cupped her chin into her hand, and stabled herself with an elbow on the table. Then she continued staring at the boy, barely being about to think straight. [/blockquote]

To Jayson, school was a waste of time. Half of the things he was learning here he would not use when he got out of school. He knew what he wanted to do with his life, and none of that involved knowing different types of plants and what they do.
"I know what I want to do and it doesn't involve herbology! I am going to be a professional quidditch keeper for the Puddlemere United team! I shall lead them to victory! And on the days where I do not have a match, I will be partying in my huge mansion! It will be amazing," Jayson said with a huge smile, following it off with a laugh. Jayson knew how to dream big. He was never a huge fan on thinking realistically. However, he knew the odds of him achieveing this goal were very slim but he had to have hope. Jayson knew he would be happy just partying for the rest of his life. Life is too short for work! Jayson believed a person should have fun everyday of their lives.
"Aby- what?! I have a hard time say it let alone knowing what it is! I swear I go to every single one of these stupid classes but yet I know nothing nor remember learning any of it! The teacher must be having extra classes when I am not there or something! This is ridiculus!" Jayson said, his head beginning to spin at all of this learning. Jayson was really not good at remembering things. Hell, he would forget what he did two days ago. It was a huge downfall of his. He did not know why he could not remember things. It was like there was a hole in the information section of his brain, causing everything he knew to fly out. The only things he seemed to be able to remember were quidditch plays and where the latest party was going to be.

--Alice's smile grew warm and wanting. Like a little child wishing for something that they expect the parent to know. Alice leaned forward over the table, indecision crossed her face, and instead she whispered the answer. "It's used in Shrinking Solutions." And with that she began to draw back her face to her side of the table.
--That was weird, she thought. I.. Alice bit her lip and closed her eyes. She had wanted to kiss him. But, kiss? Really? She barely knew the boy! God, what a mess she was. "I know what I want to do and it doesn't involve herbology! I am going to be a professional quidditch keeper for the Puddlemere United team! I shall lead them to victory! And on the days where I do not have a match, I will be partying in my huge mansion! It will be amazing."
--Alice's smile widened and she opened her eyes. "That's pretty cool. I'll have to come catch one of yo- you are on the Hufflepuff Qudditch team, aren't you?" Alice's question mirrored her face. "Aby- what?! I have a hard time say it let alone knowing what it is! I swear I go to every single one of these stupid classes but yet I know nothing nor remember learning any of it! The teacher must be having extra classes when I am not there or something! This is ridiculus!"
--"Hmm. Extra class? I don't think so. Maybe she just makes it too complicated. I mean, they're plants. What is there to say? This one does this, that would does that. Not that hard. Shesh."
Alice shook her head playfully. [/blockquote]
