Yumi had once again found herself in a tree, with her guitar, trying to play. She was higher up and the reason she was in the tree was from a different reason from last time; she was hiding. From who she did not know. It didn't occur to her she'd draw attention when she began playing and singing.
"I'm my own star, In my own world, Trying to explain it all, But it's so hard, When you feel you're on a rope 'bout to fall, Balencing everything on my shoulders, All my thoughts, all my hopes, all my fears, Balnceing, Balencing.
"Explains my life," Yumi murmered to herself. She looked down and got the shock of her life when she saw someone grinning cheekily up at her. It was ...

... Charlie who heard someone singing while strolling by the lake. He did not know whom the voice belonged to but he followed it and finally found the place it came from. He saw his house and year mate, Yumi sitting on a tree with a guitar in her hands. He found the playing really nice as well as his friend's voice while singing. The song seemed good too. He had never heard her singing even though she mentioned she sings sometimes. Now he had a chance to listen to her even though a short while. "Hey, girl. You told me you can sing and play the guitar but I did not know you're that good." he said still smiling.

Yumi blushed; she was finding it hard to physically balance on the tree. She just managed to stay put. She grinned at Charlie. "Stay there," she muttered, dropping her guitar in a special way, as so not to break it, and to land it perfectly. It was too high up for her herself to jump, so she had to clamber down the way she'd got up. When she reached the grounded, she whacked Charlies' arm lightly. "You weren't supposed to listen," She laughed. It was something she loved doing, playing the guitar, but she could never play it in front of someone. Not anyone, unless they listened without her realizing they were listening. She didn't know why, she couldn't put her finger on it, but it just didn't happen, unless she'd played for them many times before. She leaned against the tree she'd played on, asking, "What brings yah down here then? Was I singing so loudly you just had to rush down to see who it was?" She was teasing now, but gently. (she hoped!) Thee Outfiit ^^

What Charlie had told Yumi could be considered as a compliment. And of course it was. He always tried to be nice and his words were true because he thought that. Though he did not expect to see a blush on Yumi's face. He was the one who blushed everytime someone made him to, not the one who made others blush. It surpsise him but he could understand that. "Stay there," she muttered to him and there he stood.
Charlie watched Yumi dropping her guitar and then coming down to the ground. And then he was whacked by her. "Ouch! it was not that painful but he reached his arm immediately. Yumi laughed so he did the same. "I couldn't resist" Charlie said with a wink. Not that he did not mean it but it sounded funny.
Yumi leaned against the tree and asked Charlie what brought him there. He could not help but laughed hearing her other question. It sounded like she was teasing with him, joking a bit. So he thought he can go that way as well. "Haha, you know your singing brings the creatures of the night to the daylight. So here I am like a ghost from the past. BOOOO!" he made some funny faces as he put on a hood.

"That's exaggerating a lottle, isn't it?" blushed Yumi, giggling nervously. This was the kinda Charlie-ism that Yumi loved. Charlie could usually make Yumi feel happy when she was blue (i.e. all the time.) She never let on when she was upset, and she was sure no-one knew her well enough to dipher her quite yet. "How's life been treating yah?" she asked, shaking the thought out of her head, but she looked down in case the sadness showed in her eyes. She couldn't stop thinking about it,no day passed without it slithring into her thoughts. It hung clear in her mind as if it had happened the day before. It had been so deep she could poke her tongue through the side of her cheek. What am I on bout? Her scar of course.

Joking that way with Yumi was easy for him. He always felt comfortable around her. Normally he was shy, he hadn't a lot to say. But with her it was different. Charlie considered Yumi as a good friend, one who understood him and laughed with him not at him. It meant a lot to him. He did not have to feel embarrassed around her. She understood his clumsy attitude and did not make fun of him. They both were helping each other to get out of their shells. They helped each other with their little problems; no matter what it was. Charlie's parents were glad that he found that kind of friend at Hogwarts. They were afraid he won't do this since they had no idea about magical world. They did not belive in it before. But Charlie obviously had an ability to do magic. There's no other way to get to Hogwarts.
"No, I really mean it. What else would bring me here to you?" He said and chuckled. "But you played too short to bring other creatures than me." Yes, Charlie was in a good mood that day. But Yumi seemed to be not very happy. Maybe something bothered her. Charlie just had to ask her about that. Not that he wanted to ignore her question but it was more important for him. He did not want to see her upset. It always hurt him. "What's wrong, dear?" he asked putting his hand on her arm.

"What's wrong, dear?"Charlie asked her, putting his hand on her arm. The talk with Trevent all over again... "Nothing!" Yumi said brightly, knowing she sounded deeply unconvincing. Well, it might help to get something off her chest... "My life, that's what's wrong, Charlie." Yumi sighed sadly. Oof ... She'd not meant to be so dramatic ... "Look, leave it, 's nothing important!"That didn't sound good, like she was implying her life wasn't important. "I'm ... I'm ... forget it." she shook her head, squeezing her tear-ducts hard, trying not to cry. She turned away, knowing she'd made everything akward, as usual. She began to climb her 'climing tree', trying to escape her mind. Only it didn't work out like that. Not when she was brought back down to Charlie by falling out of the tree. "Ow... owww..."

Charles did not know what was going on. It happened quite often. Obviously Yumi wasn't the one who could face her problems easily. Shw would rather run away from them and close herself up from people. But if she did it to him, he would lose her. He did not want it to happen. He hadn't many friends and he thought Yumi hadn't either. But he was always there for her, no matter what. He was willing to help her with solving her problem. He wanted her to be cheery again. She could even whack him again if it made her feel better.
He listened to Yumi's words not daring to interrupt her. If she was in need to speak, he could hear her out. He could not believe his ears. Did she really think her life wasn't important? Of course it was important, every being is. And to him she was the most important one at Hogwarts. "Yumi, please. Don't say that." he pleaded. It was unbelievavble how fast she changed her mood. But Yumi turned away from. Again she tried to escape that by climbing on a tree. Unfortunately she probably slipped and started falling down. Not thinking too long Charlie moved himself closer to the tree just to catch his friend. He did not want her fall on a hard cold ground. Yes, he did catch her but he could not stood on his feet for too long and fell on his knees with Yumi in his arms. "Phew! It was close!" he said and let out a breath with relief. "Fortunately I was there." he smiled at Yumi and hugged her.

The landing was way softer than she'd expected. Wait ... Charlie had caught her. Stunned, she felt his arms pull her into a hug. She hugged him back, upset about the way she'd acted. "Do you really want me to tell you?" Yumi sighed. She pulled away from him, took a deep breath, and began.
"Charlie, your family... do they love you? I mean, well and truly love you. Well, mine don't. Just because I'm a Gryffindor and they were all Slytherins. They yell abuse at me when I'm here and at home, they gave me this." Her hand indicated to her scar. "It was so deep I could stick my tongue out of the side of my cheek. And When I pass people going into the Owlrey, I feel jealous 'cause they can write letters to home without theyre bird not returning. I'm nothing, Charlie, it's just the truth." She turned away again, putting her head between her knees and beginning to cry softly.

Yes, Charlie was a good friend. And since he knew Yumi was his best girl friend at Hogwarts he was open-up to her, really trustworthy and loyal. He would never harm her, he wanted always be there when she was in need, no matter what. And today Yumi was in need. She did need a friend, one who could hear her out, who could cry and then laugh with her. Though he was not sure if he wanted her to tell him things she did not want to. It would be like prying into her own world. But of course if she allows him to get in, he will do anything to support her.
Charles did not reply her letting her countinue. He did not want to interrupt her when she was getting it off of her chest. He appreciated she trusted him enough to tell him that all. Though, he felt really sorry for her. He did not understand the meaning of a blood status or house sorting. It did not matter for him. But maybe it was just because he came from muggle family.
"Oh, Yumi. I can't understand how anyone could harm such a great girl as you. I have no idea about those rules wizards and witches have. I'm the only one in my family who has an ability to do magic but for four years I learned one thing. It doesn't matter if you don't take to much to heart. Yumi, you still have friends who love you. Believe me you mean a lot to them. You mean a lot to..." he paused and kneeled down just inches from her. "...me." Charlie finished hoping she would stop crying and look at him.

Yumi was just a scared little girl who didn't know what to do about her hopes and fears. She wanted guidence, someone to help, and Charlie'd been excellent, but the one unanswerable question : What to do now.

Even though it seemed easy for him to tell everthing he did, it was hard for Charlie. But he found that courage somewhere inside him and brought it to life. He just did not want to see his friend upset. He did not want to see her crying. It was beyond him how anyone could harm her. Yes, he considered her a friend but she always was beautiful to him, despite that scar she hated so much. He did not mind it; it was even unnoticeable for him. Or maybe he just did not want to see it. It was a part of her and noone could change what happened. But it was a life. Life is brutal. But people have to face it. Face the world, face the enemies, face all fears.
Charles nodded to confirm he really meant what he said. It was a confession he wanted her to hear but was sort of afraid to speak out loud. But he did finally. He cared for her and wanted to be with her everytime she was in need. "I mean it, Yumi. I mean it and I'm not joking. Please, believe me. I would never joke with so serious thing."

Of course Charlie wouldn't joke about something as serious as this; Charlie wouldn't, she knew. So ... why was she asking him? Yumi sighed. She always done the wrong choice, always had done. She now had the chance to really talk and let it out, but she was not going to say too much, like treading on eggshells. She quit thinking and muttered, "T-thanks, Charlie. You're ... a real friend." She smiled lamely, then picked up her guitar. "See ya l-later. K?" She tried to leave without talking about it. But she'd never really escape.OOC: Gonna keep her there or let her go? ;D

Yes, Charlie wasn't the one who jokes about serious things. Yes, he was funny, he could laugh at himself, think of funny stuff. But when it came to confessing his feelings, his real thoughts he just couldn't make fun of it. She did mean a lot for him. She was the only one real friend he had. She helped him to get use to magic and wizarding world. She was there when he needed someone to explain him why it was so different to the world he lived in till his first apperance in that school. He could even say she was more than just a friend to him. More than just a guide. But he realized that recently.
"Yumi, don't go. Please." Charlie said. "Don't run away from your problems. I am sure it will be way better if you share them with me. You know I am a good listener. I won't judge you." he approached her and put a streak of hair behind her ear. "I want to see you smile again."

"My problem..." Yumi whispered, "my problem is I've made a life altering decision you certainly won't like." She looked down, her voice so quiet she could barely hear herself. "At the end of term..." A sob, a groan, a cough all followed. She spoke up. "At the end of term, well, Charlie ..." The whisper escaped her lips, but audible enough to be heard, "I'm running away." she studied his features to see how he'd react.
