There was no pain that could equal the pain Isabella Swan was feeling as she stood in the middle of the owlery looking at the letter sent to her by God only knew who. Her father was hardly ever around for her but that didn’t mean she wished death to him. That was the last thing she wanted. He was the only close family she had left. Her sister and her weren’t that close, she hadn’t seen her uncle from her mother’s side in years, and her father was an only child.
The letter wrapped in black silk was still resting in her hand. It was from the butler at her father’s estate. He hired him to take care of her most of the time while it was really the house elves that did all of the work. He had sent her the letter dated two days earlier, and she had only just received it. That brought up the suspicion of whether or not someone had interfered with her mail. She sat next to her owl and lightly stroked it’s smooth feathers, tears on the brim of her eyes, yet not heavy enough to fall over.
She stood up, and walked down the icy stairs of the owlery, sniffling the whole time. She walked into the Common Room and, after grabbing her coat and a handful of flu powder, brought herself to the Ministry of Magic. She ignored the looks she was receiving from all of the other people and nodded at the receptionist who knew her to be her father’s daughter.
She caught the elevator right as it was about to close and stood in the far corner. She knew exactly who she needed to see…the only person in the world who could make her feel better in the situation she was in. The love of her life got another girl pregnant and now her father was dead. Wasn’t she having a lovely week? The aurors were looking at her strangely as she played with the silk on the envelope, avoiding eye contact with everyone.
Bella was practically off the elevator before it opened and her exposed legs took off running down the hallway to get to the room at the very end. Her muscles were pumping so quickly, she almost slammed into the wall, but as she stopped herself she took a deep breath and covered her eyes with her hand as she turned the knob of the door and peeked her head in. “Ash…? Mr. Bliss…?” she asked softly, her voice ready to break.

SITUATIONS ARE IRRELVANT NOW ,THE FRUSTRATION, IT'S A REGULAR THING ! Ashford was at work on this very gloomy, cold day. He was a bit upset. His best friend had died. It was very sading. He felt sorry for the girl left behind. He know she must have been very upset probably even more than that. He had never last a parent before so he could never truly understand the feeling of a loss so close. He wondered how she was holding up. He really could not worry about it.He had to get this work done and nothing was allowed to stop him or so he thought. As he was typing with his glasses on,he heard the door open. He stopped and looked up. It was Isabella."Oh His Bella."He said giving off a smiling. He could see the sadness in her. He could see her breaking down at any moment. "Please take a seat."He said giving a hand movement for her to came all the way in. He really did not know what to say. He really did not want to see her cry."So umm are you ok?"He asked and then noticed the silk letter. "Whats that?"he pointed at it wondering what was going on. He had no idea what was going on and wanted to help her as much as he could at this time. Isabella forced a smile onto her face as she saw that her father’s best friend was in his office. It would have made her feel pretty stupid to be calling out for nobody to answer. She couldn’t remember a time in her life where Mr. Ashford Bliss wasn’t there for you or her family. She took a step in his office as he greeted her by the name he knew she preferred and smiled at him softly. “Good morning Mr. Bliss.” She said unsure of whether or not to call him by his first name. She took a step inside and looked around the office. It reminded her of her father’s.
She took a seat in front of his desk and moved a strand of loose hair behind her ears. Biting her lower lip, she played with the letter in her lap. What if he didn’t hear the news yet? She asked herself as the letter was turned in her lap. His voice made her look up at him. It was kind of funny the way whenever she thought of her father’s voice, she heard his instead. Her father was hardly ever around and whenever she needed to know where he was, she would go to Ashford. He was the closest thing to family she had outside of the estate.
Placing the paper on his desk, Bella wiped away some tears that had reformed on her eyes. There was no point in crying in front of this man. He didn’t want to deal with her or her leaking eyes nor did she expect him too. She only came to tell him the news. He didn’t know that her father was barley ever around for her and that was the way she wanted to keep it. She didn’t want his sympathy. No. That was the last thing she wanted from the man in front of her.
She already had the letter memorized. The ‘butler’ had written it in his elegant script and it was short and to the point. The butler was more of a caretaker for her, the closet thing to a father figure than Ashford. “My dear Isabella, it is my displeasure to have to be to one to tell you about this horrid news. You’re father had passed away this morning. We will discuss his will upon your return home and I am deeply sorry. With all the love I have from you over the years, James.”
He was the one to love her all the years. And she was the one who looked to him like a father figure. He wasn’t old like most butlers were. He was actually only ten years older than she was. He was the one to care for her over the years although he should’ve only had to care for himself. She felt bad leaving him alone in the estate while she went to school but it made her feel better knowing that he had permission to get as many pets as he liked.
