Roxy got up early in the morning. She wanted to make sure that she got up before any one else. True as it was that she spreffered to sleep in especially on a saturday she wanted to practice for quidditch. Gryffindor had already won all three matches so far, but not once did Roxy get to play. All because she had gone out drinking the night before try outs, and had slept through them.
Being an alternate after three years of being one of the top beaters in school was killing her. It made her furiouse to sit down on the ground, and watch her team mates play. As far as she was concerned her replacement wasn't worth a damn. Beryx was actually doing well though. Still she hated not being able to play in the games so she wanted to go out on her own for some practice time.
Surely her team mates would flip out on her for it. It was one thing for a chaser or a seeker to practice on thier own. Thier balls weren't trying to take their head off. Roxy was sure of herself though, and wasn't worried in the least, about what might happen. Her father had been raising her to be a beater all her life. Before she was even old enough for hogwarts she was able to handle a bludger.
She got her broom and bat out from under her bed, and she snuck out of the dormitory. That had been the easy part. As she walked down the flights of stairs she wondered how hard it would be to get to the balls. It didn't take her very long to get outside and walk out to the pitch. Then she found that the storage room was unlocked. It was all to easy. She dragged the heavy trunk out to the field.
She mounted her broom, and kicked the lid open. She easily unlatched one bludger with her foot. As she went to take off she decided to be a bit daring, and she released the second bluger. She shot off into the air loving the feeling of finaly being back on her broom. Immediatly both bludgers headed for her where as she was the onl y one in the air. She easily connected her bat to the first and then the second putting holes in two slytherin banners.
She kept at it for a while having little trouble hitting the balls, and keeping them from hitting her. Constantly she was hitting her targets. All of which had slyhterin markings on them. It was easy to tell how much she loathed the rival house. Then she thought she heard someone call from below, and in her moment of distraction a bludger nailed her arm. She heard the snap of her bones. She was barely able to get the broom to the ground where she just fell and lay there.

It had been some time since Peyton had really hopped on her broom outside of practices, though it seemed there weren't practices anyway. The team was relatively good, and finding time near the holidays was just difficult for everyone. It had been before the change since Peyton had even touched her broom. She was to afraid that with her new found strength and inability to really keep it under control that she would somehow manage to break the poor broom in half. It had been a gift from her family when she had discovered she had leukemia. But now that was in the past and she really didn't want to damage something so beautiful, and with her luck she would have if she hadn't waited a few weeks allowing herself some time to adjust to the strength she had been given. In a way she felt indestructable, which at Hogwarts, she pretty much was. There was nothing that could threaten her, not that anyone actually even knew that. She had thankfully managed to keep her change as a vampire a secret, even against her best friend Dom, who she hadn't even actually seen.
Now with her broom in her hand, a small smile on her face, and her breath being held so she could not smell all the humans in the hall she was passing, she made her way out toward the Quidditch pitch. She was slightly hoping that she would get get it to herself, though that wasn't bound to happen. As soon as she had cleared the doors to the school and was a good distance away from it she let out her breath and took in some fresh air. It was funny how much easier she could smell things. She could smell the Black Lake, despite the fact it was a good distance away, the wetness of the ground, the dirt. It was all so new to her still. She could hear something in the forest running around, no doubt hunting for some food whatever it was, the wind blowing gently through the trees. It was amazing. She was even getting use to the fact that she could hear people's thoughts and they didn't bother her as much. She simply just laughed when bad or interesting thoughts of her crossed their minds. She learned to play with it and make them even more curious by using their thoughts to act out or do something. It was oddly amusing. Who would have thought that Peyton would enjoy something so much.
Closing her eyes she allowed herself to simply concentrate on noise. She could hear someone zipping around in the air, on a broom, Sighing, she reopened her eyes and headed toward the pitch stopping at the edge. It was Roxy. Peyton and her knew each other because of quidditch though they really hadn't talked outside of the pitch or anything. Peyton was usually to into herself to notice or meet new people. But she wasn't now, no she was just having to keep a touching distance away from people. Looking up toward the girl, Peyton said, "Care for some competition?" she said with a small smirk on her delicate face. Roxy was a beater and Peyton a chaser, but Peyton was rather good at either one.
But just as the words left the blonde girls mouth she realized she hadn't spoke loud enough for human ears let alone the fact though the girl got distracted anyway. With that a bludger hit her and as the girl made it to the ground, Peyton rushed off toward her. Hadn't the girl known that practicing alone with two bludgers wasn't a great idea? Now, if it was Peyton she wouldn't have been harmed at all, rather it would have been the bludger that would have been harmed. Without even thinking, Peyton kneeled on the ground and touched the girls arm with icy cold hands. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have bugged you," she said suddenly realizing for the first time since she has been a vampire she had made contact with a humans skin. Quickly pulling her hands away she felt suddenly sick, what had she just done? [/font]

Roxy laid on the ground just staring up at the sky trying to keep an eye out for the bludgers. She kept a tight grip on her bat with her uninjured arm. She had completely forgotten about hearing someone below, and she was just thinking that the bludgers wouldn't be done, and catching them, and putting them away with a broken arm would be a very difficult task.
It was then that she heard someone coming towards her. She recognized Peyton. She was a chaser for Ravenclaw, and her older cousin Doms best friend. She sighed in relief that it had been her to come. She didn't need anyone from her team flipping out on her for her stupidity, and she could not have dealt with any Slytherins laughing at her She sat up cradling her arm still keeping an eye on the sky.
A crooked smile spread across her face at the girls words. "Don't be a fool Reno you have nothing to be sorry for. I've hit you with plenty of bludgers over the last three years. You just finaly got a little bit of payback thats all." She laughed lightly trying not to jostle her arm to much. She really wasn't upset at Peyton she was upset with herself for being so arragant. Two bludgers was a bad idea.
Beaters were the only players on the team that were not allowed to practice alone because of how dangerous a bludger could be especially when it only has one person to target. Her uncle Harry had had a bludger target just him before, and that was during a game. He had ended up with a broken arm as well. She had been two bludgers targeting just her if her team found out she hated to think what would happen.
She looked to Peyton with panic in her eyes, not even noticing how cold her skin had been because she was suddenly so worried. "Please say that you were practicing with me. If they find out I was alone they'll cut me from the team. I won't even be allowed to be an alternate any more. I can't take that I love quidditch to much." She begged of the girl. Not knowing if it would work or not.

It wasn't the fact that Peyton had anything against the Weasley girl, it was the mere fact that the two were technically rivals on the Quidditch Pitch. After all literally practicing in the open with someone from another team was almost as horrible as giving away team secrets. Or so thats how Peyton always felt. But that hadn't stopped her from asking anyway, and if it hadn't been for her, the girl may not have got hit by the bludgers. It was only proper for Peyton to actually agree to help the girl.
Then again, at the same time Peyton was taking a few seconds to figure out what to really do she allowed herself to open up and hear the thoughts of the girl anyway knowing full well that they may just make her feel bad for the girl. It was known by almost everyone that Roxy wasn't allowed to play most games, and it was true that her team would look upon her like she was idiot for trying to practice with two bludgers on her own. The only real choice that Peyton had was to do what was asked of her.
Apparently Peyton's nice side hadn't fully left her. Part of her would just love to let the girl have to deal with the the fall with her Quidditch team. The other part of her wouldn't like it to much if she was in the same position and no one would help her out. Anyway, Roxy hadn't ever done anything to Peyton anyway so she had no grounds to actually say no. Right? Right.
Making sure that Peyton didn't make contact with the girl again, afraid that she might actually catch it next time Peyton sat down on the cold hard ground. It wasn't like it was going to effect her temperature any or even make her slightest bit uncomfortable. "I'd much rather get my pay back on the Quidditch field in the air then this way Weasley," she said honestly.
Taking the gloves out of her pocket that she had brought just in case Peyton slipped them on her hands. Now she wouldn't have to worry about touching the girl again. Looking upon the girl as if she was going to say no to her request, she let a small smile form across her face. "Fine nothing better to get me in trouble then frantizing with the enemy," she said now with a small laugh at her own remark.
Standing up she pulled out her want, "Now either I can attempt to fix your arm or we can take you to the hospital wing, which do you prefer?" the blonde vampire asked Roxy.

Roxy smirked at Peytons words. She would havemuch rather it have been during a match as well. She would have loved to be playing in a match again as it were. She hated sitting on the side lines when she should be in the air. It would have been different if she had done worse in try outs and been fairly beaton. Missing tryouts, and having beater who were no where near as skilled as her playing was infuriating.
She smirked at Peyton. "Well I have hit you with far more than just one bludger so I still have some payback coming. Maybe if I am able to prove myself in practice the next match against Ravenclaw you'll get your chance." No one would deny that she wasn't your average person. Normally you wouldn't sit and chat with a player from your rival team, but she was far from normal.
Peytons next words made Roxy see the problems with her cover. Yeah it would keep her from being kicked off the team, but it would cause problems with her and her team mates. She sat silently for a few moments trying to think of a plan. What could they possibly say to make their team mates see there practice as a good thing rather than a betrayel. She quickly had it.
"We'll just have to tell our tems that we agreed to the practice only so that we could get to know the others tactics, and skill so as to do better against each other in a match." A wide grin spread accross her face as she marveled at her own geniousness. She knew that it would work she would have thought well of any of her team mates had they thought to do such a thing.
Then Peyton mentioned her arm. She tried to lift it, and it just fell as if it wer rubber, and had no bone in it. She felt multiple stabs, and cried out in pain as bone broke through the skin in five different places. She gritted her teeth as she cradeled her arm in her other arm. "I think it's safe to say that I have to go to the nurse. We have an acceptable story any ways so neither of us will get into any trouble."
