Resting a hand on her bulging stomach, Alexis Grindlewald allowed a soft sigh to escape her pale pink lips. What had her life came to? In the short period of a few months, she had found herself pregnant with Riddle’s child, she had been imprisoned in own home and been put under the watchful eyes of Cassandra Riddle, Jack’s long lost sister. What had happened to the good days? When she was out torturing helpless muggles and mudbloods. Where had that Alexis ran off to? However, the young witch had to repeatedly remind herself that she was to be a mother, in a matter of a few weeks.
How could she possibly remain locked up in this manor, it was merely impossible and she had Cassandra running everywhere for her, trying to help out as much as possible. She needed to get out, now.
Struggling to get onto her feet, Alexis cried out in frustration. This was becoming such a hard routine. With one last attempt and pushing herself onto her swollen feet, Alex managed to just get balance. Waddling her way over to where her cloak was placed, she picked it up and threw it over her shoulders. “Cassandra, I’m going out for a walk.” After calling out, Alex waited for a moment a when returning no response, she took it as an opportunity to run, or well, struggle her way out of the premises.
Taking the risk of getting herself splinched, Alexis took the floo system to get herself to Hogsmeade. What other option did she have? If only Jack knew, she’d be getting an earful of words reminding her that she was putting their child’s health at risk and whatever other wise words he was willing to share with her. One thing she knew about Jack was that he would not hesitate to lecture her.
Maybe out of luck; luck that had been missing in action for her, she might run into a decent fellow, one that wouldn’t look at her expanding stomach but at her face and actually get to know her. What was she thinking! The chances of that happening where at an all time low.
Trailing her fingers through her curly brown hair, Alexis made her way through the crowds of people that hurried down the cobbled street of Hogsmeade, all rushing to get their last Christmas presents. Frowning, the witch was careful not to run into any busy asses that could knock her to her feet in an instant. Having hormones that weren’t always exactly balanced considering she was so far into her pregnancy, Alexis’s was a loose canon, her temper could flare in the split of a second and the chances of her hexing someone was pretty high if they managed to piss her off,
Pushing the Three Broomstick’s entrance doors open, her steel greys eyes scanned the surroundings and almost every pair of eyes in the pub turned in her direction. Immediately feeling uncomfortable, Alexis snarled at all the lingering gazes and strided towards the bar. This was no place for a pregnant lady, she could tell that was exactly what they where thinking or, this was no place for a pregnant woman like Alexis Grindlewald. “Just a water.” The brunette snapped before tossing a few galleons at the bar tender. Now all she had to do was wait, wait for somebody to come a long and occupy her.

Jack sat in his office above the three broomsticks. There was a large pile of paper work in front of him. He had been at the bar since his morning class got out not having another class for the rest of the day. He had alot of work to do in all of his businesses this week. He had spent the previous day at the daily prophet, and had only gotten half of his work done there. He ran his hand through his hair sighing in frustration. He loved being a business owner, but he hated the paer work it drove him nuts. He looked at the pile of papers he had left to do for the bar, and he decided that he would take a break. He pushed himself up from his chair, and he stretched. His legs felt a bit numb from the amount of time he had spent siiting.
He walked around his desk, and out of his office. As he came down the stairs he heard a familiar voice asking for a water. His lips pulled up into a small smile. He had wondered how long it would take before Alexis would sneak out. It didn't bother him that she had he could fully understand where she was coming from. Very few people liked being cooped up in the house all the time. She would probably expect her to lecture her about going out, but she would be wrong about it. At least she had only asked for water so he had nothing to be upset about. He was sure that she cared about there child just as much as he did so he would trust her to make the right decisions. He reached the bottom of the stairs and he quickly noticed the customers giving her harsh stares.
He shot the customers a look that told them he didn't like their actions, and they turned away from her. Most of the people in the bar were regulars, and they knew that Jack did not like anyone eavesdropping on any one else. He walked up behind Alexis, and he put his hands on her sides. He leaned forward and he kissed her cheek. Then he turned and sat on the stool next to her. "Hey beautiful." A kind smile was on his face now happy to see her. "How lucky is it that when I desperately need a break from my work that I find you here to occupy my time." He leaned forward, and he touched his lips to hers. He parted her lips with his, and he ran his tongue along the edges of her lips, before letting it slip into her mouth. Then he pulled back a little just to smile at her.

Alexis could understand the reason for the unpleasant looks that had been thrown in her direction, she was ready to pop! And whether people knew the child was Jack’s or not was another thing. Throwing a small glance down at her rounded mid-section, Alexis couldn’t help but allow a small smile to creep onto her pale lips. For a woman who didn’t plan on reproducing, she had quickly adjusted to the thought. At the beginning of the pregnancy she was unsure of what to do, did she want to keep it? If so, how would she handle a child? After all, she had no experience in the matter whatsoever. That was why she turned to Jack, who accepted the fact rather warmly. Now, despite all the awful things that came with a pregnancy, she really believed she was ready now, after months of preparation.
Taking her glass of water from the bartender, the young brunette chewed on her lower plumped lip. Maybe it was a bad idea to come out of the Manor…Hell no, she wasn’t going to give a damn if people thought wrongly of her, she never has and never will. Lifting the glass of water to her lips, to took a small sip and tried to block out all the obvious stares. Where the hell was Jack when she needed him? Most likely off attending to more important matters, just like he always was. Turning her head slowly, her eyes scanned over many of the faces but none where no longer looking in her direction, much to her surprise. Shrugging she smirked to herself, thinking that her glares had scared them of. She wasn’t that interesting, was she?
Alexis could sense a presence behind her but she didn’t bother to turn and look, she kept herself to herself and continued to look at her glass of water. It was when a pair of hand secured themselves on her waist, her body tensed and her heart leaped. Then a pair of lips made contact with her cheek and everything seemed to ease again. Jack. Even the thought of his name caused the child to kick and turn. Alexis grinned and rested a hand on her stomach, “Hey love.” She spoke softly. Beautiful, she didn’t feel beautiful at all. The only thing she felt about her appearance was with each day that passed she continued getting bigger and her ankles began to swell because she couldn’t heck the extra weight. It was killing her! It wouldn’t be long until their child arrived though. Alexis laughed gently at his words, “Occupy your time? Well, I came here for you to occupy my time.” Just after she spoke, Jack’s lips collided with hers. Thankfully she was seated, or else her legs would have buckled and she’d most likely be on the floor. If there was anything she enjoyed about Jack, it was his kisses, they could melt any woman on the spot. Smiling against the kiss, Alex is wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss eagerly, allowing his tongue to enter her mouth. It was a shame the kiss couldn’t last longer than it had but she was willing to accept that. Looking at him through her steel grey eyes, Alexis returned his smile and gently ran her fingers down his cheek. “I take it you’ve had a rough day.” She whispered to him.

Jack couldn't help smiling at her. It was very amusing to him the way she saw herself when he saw her in a completely different way. He put his forehead to hers lightly looking into her eyes. "There is nothing more beautiful than the creation of life which is exactly what you are going through." He put his hands on either side of her face. "Also you are so stunningly beautiful that you could more than likely even pull off a beer gut." He gave her another quick kiss on the lips. He turned away from her for a minute to look over at some of the customers. Then he turned back to her with a smile. "Some of the guys in here are even thinking that you are rediculously good looking for someone who is so far along in pregnancy. Most of the guys in here are severely jealous of me." Jacks smile faltered a little as he thought about it himself. Here he add an amazing woman who would soon be the mother of his child, and he was often off messing around with other women. All because he was afraid of relationships. He knew that by getting close to people that he was putting them in danger, but wasn't Alexis already in danger by being the mother of his child. Would he ever be able to fing someone to equal her. The answer to that question was obviouse as soon as he thought it. No he wouldn't. Now the question was could he act on his feelings, and if so how. He looked into her eyes, and he knew that he could spend the rest of his life with her. This was exactly what he wanted, and he knew it. Her last question amused him. "Hard day, hard week same difference. I have to re file all of the paperwork for all of my business's and it's no small task. I was just coming down from the office to take a break when I found you here." Jack moved one hand to the back of Alexis's head, and put his other hand behind his back. He knew what he wanted to do, and he knew what he needed. He was just happy that he had recently acquired a very expensive ring for the large diamond it held. He summoned it from his vault in the bank, and it appeared in the hand that was behind his back. "Alexis I have a very important question to ask you, and I don't mind if you say no. Just don't get upset about the informality of it I'm not exactly a romantic." He brought his hand in front of him, and he held the ring out to her. "Will you marry me?"

Being so far along in her pregnancy, Alexis lost all interest in her appearance. Yes, she was gifted with the ‘glow’ that the majority of pregnant women had, but that really meant very little to her. She didn’t put as much effort into her appearance as she did before she became pregnant, she was just thankful she was naturally pretty. Alexis couldn’t hold back her smile at his compliments, “Really-” She was cut off once again with a small kiss that caused her to remain silent. Tilting her head at his next set of words, she laughed and allowed herself to look around the room once again, “You’ve really got to stop intruding on others thoughts. For some people it’s the only bit of privacy they have. And jealous of you?” Arching an eyebrow she smirked, “I doubt that.” She countered him playfully.
Alexis sensed something was wrong. His wavering smile confirmed it. Cupping his chin, she looked at him straight in the eyes, “What’s wrong?” She asked curiously, a frown forming on her lips. Examining him closely, Alexis was rather surprised by what she seen, was that guilt…or something else? Dropping her hand from his chin, she sighed and shook her head. It was times like these she would love to read minds. Lifting up the glass of water she had ordered previously, she took a small sip and waited for Jack to respond, wondering if he would be honest and admit to what was causing his sudden change in emotion.
It didn’t surprise her when Jack admitted to his hard week, for a man who was all about business what else was there to expect. “And aren’t you lucky to have me here.” She laughed in a light tone. It was only when Jack was around she could feel a lot more at ease, it was her whacked up hormones that drove her to want to kill anyone who got in her way, with Jack around it was different. What Jack did next had completely blown Alexis off track, she really had to learn to expect the unexpected. Listening to his words, confusion swept over her features but she waited for Jack to finish what he needed to say. Then he moved the hand that was hid behind his back in front of her, revealing a small box which held a gorgeous diamond ring.’Will you marry me?’ Did she hear that right? He wanted her to marry him. Opening her mouth to speak, nothing came out. She had lost her voice. Alexis smiled and nooded, “Yes, of course I will.” How could she say no? He was everything she wanted. All eyes where once again on the two but Alex didn’t give a damn, she was just overwhelmed with happiness.

Jack rolled his eyes at the way she thought so little of herself. He could see that it would be one hell of a challenge to get her to see herself as he saw her. He would do absolutely anything to maker her feel better about herself, but he wasn't sure how to go about it. He looked into her eyes waiting to speak until she was finished. When she asked him what was wrong he panicked on the inside, but his face did not betray his reaction. e really didn't want to lie to Alexis, but at the same time how could he make her more confident, and tell her the truth. Of course his actions would come back to bite him in the ass. He remained silent still waiting on the answer to his question. He reached over, and he brushed a strand of stray hair back behind her ear with only the gentlest touch.
He could tell that she was shocked, and he couldn't blame her. He hadn't really given her any warning of what he had been thinking. He had only just thought of it, but he would never let her know that. He wanted her to see how much he actually cared about her, and that would take alot of work. First he would need her to answer his question, and then they could figure out where they would go from there. He saw her open her mouth to speak, and his stomach began doing flips of nervousness. When nothing came out of her mouth it got worse. He swore if it were possible he would be sweating bullets by this point. He suddenly noticed all of the eyes on them, but this did not matter to him. All that mattered was the answer to his question.
He heard her words, and it was like everything else vanished, and it was just him, and her. He slid the ring onto her finger, and then he was kissing her. He kissed her with such passion that the other people began to turn away as if they had walked in on them in a hotel room. Jack pulled away after a while needing to catch his breath. "How could people not be jealous of me now? I will soon be a father, I have more monet than anyone else in the U.K., and I will soon be married to the most beautiful woman I have ever met. How could anything be wrong now? E.J. is going to be pissed though because I'm going to have to have her finish my work so that I can find us a house, and plan our wedding." Jack flashed her a smile, and he stood up, and looked out over all of his customers. "A round of drinks on the house cause I'm getting married to this lovely lady." He called out loudly, and the bar was suddenly full of cheers. He sat back down with a smile. "You can stick to water. If you want something harder you can get some cranberry juice."

How was it possible for one single person to help her regain confidence, to make her feel as if she didn’t need magic to be powerful? These last few months have been hectic and uncontrollable but with Jack there, he made everything possible, everything seemed easier when he was there, he had been her safeguard that she never wanted to lose. Moving her soft fingers from his cheek, she trailed them down to his lips and rested them there for moment. In the spilt second that his emotions got the best of him, Alexis could feel the baby kicking, her nerves causing the child to panic with her. But it was never a problem for Jack hiding his emotions, so whenever he fell silent, Alexis’s hand dropped and she tilted her head, now letting him push a strand of hair behind her ear.
This was the last thing on her mind. She could remember the day clearly when she wandered into knocturn alley just looking for some fun and instead she found Jack. Hell, she never imagined that she’d have his child, or even marry him. Up until now she was still confused about their relationship but, now they where getting married. Marriage, it was such a huge commitment for a woman like herself who always liked to enjoy herself and she was pretty sure that it would be hard for Jack to keep away from all those women, however he was willing to try and so was she. All eyes where on the couple, but right now Alexis was just thinking about the two of them, blocking out all the peering and curious eyes.
After the words escaped her pale pink lips, a pair of lips belonging to the male she was now engaged to, crashed upon hers. All her worries disappeared on the spot. Snaking her arms around his neck she returned the kiss with as much passion and hunger she was receiving. Nothing mattered, not even the people who stared in awe, shocked by Jack’s proposal. She was as surprised as they where, but overjoyed none the less. Once the kiss broke, Alexis smiled and rested a small hand on her bulging stomach as he spoke to her, “Would it not be better if we wait? Wait until after I give birth? I’m due any day now and once I have the baby, I can help?” Alexis suggested with an arched eyebrow. Looking down at her stomach, she chewed on her lower lip, to be honest, she didn’t want to engage in anything at the moment, she wanted to hold everything off until she had their baby. It was only when Jack made a public announcement of their engagement that she looked at him. Hearing it aloud caused her to smile. “I’ll think I’ll just stick with the water.” Alexis admitted with a small smile and lifted up the glass that she had been previously drinking from.
Once the glass was in her hand, a sharp pain shot through her mid section. Letting go of the glass, it hit the floor smashing into hundreds of tiny little crystals. But, that didn’t matter much. It was the cry of pain that escaped Alexis’s lips that caught everyone’s attention. Clutching her stomach with one hand, and with the other she held on to Jack’s arm. Looking down at the floor, Alexis’s couldn’t necessarily tell if her water had broke, but she was positive it had. Feeling her eyes sting, Alexis’s looked at Jack, “I’m having the baby,” The young witch told him before crying out in pain as another sharp pain crossed her mid-section.

Jack just sat there and smiled as he looked into the eyes of the woman he loved. How could anything be better for him. He had an adopted fifteen year old daughter who he cared alot about. He was now engaged to be married, and he would soon have another child. He hadn't a clue as to how soon that would be though. He saw the glass drop from her hand as she cried out in pain. His arms were quickly around her. Before he had the chance to ask what was wrong she had told him. He easily scooped her up in his arms. "The bar is now closed everyone out." No one argued surely they all understood as they left the bar quickly. The bar maid rushed to his side as He carried Alexis over to a table. He brushed Alexis's hair away from her face. "Don't worry love everything will be all right." He turned to the bar maid. "Get me some sheers, a basin of warm water, and lots of towels. At least one face cloth" The woman hurried away to get what she needed. He turned back to Alexis, and he kissed her on the top of her head. "I need to tell Petra she should be here." He said as he thought of their adopted daughter. He turned to another table, and with a wave of his hand parchment and quille appeared. He quickly began writing. Petra I need you to get down to the three broomsticks immediatly. Alexis has gone into labor, and you will soon be a big sister. I need your help. I know you are in class so give this letter to the teacher so that you can be desmissed. If he says no go anyways, and I will handle him later.
~Jack~ He whistled and an owl flew in the window. He tied the letter to the owls leg. "Articus take this to Petra, and fast she's in a history of magic class." The owl shot off. Jack used him because he was fast. He turned back just as the bar maid got back. He dipped it in the water, and began to mop Alexis's forehead. "Don't worry everything is going to be great." He chuckled a little. "Figures that our kid should be born in a bar."

Petra look out the window of her classroom. She was getting bored and tired. She already knew what the teacher was teaching about. She put her head on the table and started drawing random things. She just wanted this class to end quickly. Then something hit her on the head. It was letter from her adopted father, Jack. She open the letter and read it. She stood up quickly and dropped the letter on the teacher desk. She ran out the door went straight to Three Broomsticks not really caring if her teacher dismiss her.
She opened the door to the bar and went straight to where Jack and Alexis were. She saw Alexis on a table and Jack wiping her forehead. "I'm here." She said in a rugged breathe and went straight to Jack side. "Is there anything I need to do?" She asked while taking Alexis hand in a comforting way. She was excited that she was going to be a big sister. She always wanted a little sister or brother and now she was getting one.

Alexis released a small yelp in pain as Jack lifted her into his arms. How the hell did it look so easy for him? The witch had no idea what was going on, chaos broke out once Jack declared that the bar was currently closed and everyone fled quickly, getting the point immediately. Her fiancée cooed reassurance to her as he carried her to the nearest table. Pressing a hand on her mid section, Alexis applied a small amount of pressure onto her stomach, hoping that the pain would stop quickly, but she knew that this pain would be recurring for quite a while, simply depending if the kid wanted to come out or not. “Jack, do something.” She pleaded with him as the shooting pains continued, getting sharper and quicker. It was all happening to quickly, she could only assume that she had been dilated for some while before she went into labour.
Feeling his lips make contact with her forehead forced Alexis’s to look at her future husband, “Yes, contact Petra.” She struggled to say, quickly thinking of their recent addition to the family. Petra, the little Slytherin that Jack had happily taken under his wing, and a girl who Alexis’s was willing to treat as her own daughter. Wincing in pain, she breathed heavily, feeling the contractions still coming, only getting worse.
While having her forehead wiped with a cool flannel, Alexis chewed her lip and groaned, “Jack, look what you’ve done to me, you ass!” She snapped at him angrily, her eyes turning to slits. The young witch was in too much pain to even think of what she was saying, her hormones where temporally out of order. Staring at the ceiling with her steel grey eyes, she gasped for air and took deep breath, waiting for the next contraction. Jack’s next statement earned him another glare thrown in his direction, “This was not exactly where I planned the birth of my child Jack.” She snapped hot headedly.
Petra soon made an entrance and Alexis’s sighed in relief despite the pain rushing through her body, taking the young girl’s hand she listened to here speak, “Just you being here is enough Petra,” If only she could smile, the pain was unbearable however and it was practically impossible for her to smile.
The bar mind rushed back with all the needed essentials for a birth and moved to the bottom of the table, “Alexis’s it seems this baby doesn’t want to be cooped up any longer.” She announced and grabbed a towel, “After three, I need you to push.” The instructions where pretty straight forward and Alexis’s was willing to follow them accordingly to get this baby out of her. “One, two, three…” The brunette squealed in pain as she pushed, as hard as she could. She felt like giving up all together, but she was determined to get it over and done with, “Again Alexis’s.” Not wanting to damage Petra’s hand, Alexis’s grabbed Jack’s too and squeezed his hand tightly as she pushed once again. “A few more pushes…”
It wasn’t long after that a small cry broke the silence in the room. “It’s a son,” The bar maid exclaimed with a bright smile and wrapped with baby boy in a towel. Sighing, Alexis leaned her head down again, completely exhausted. She had been through so much in the last hour, too much for it to all sink in. The witch watched as the maid handed her son to Jack, “Congratulations.” She beamed and quickly began to clean up after her.

Jack watched as Petra ran in to join them he was so relieved to see her. Having her there made everything so much easier. He flashed her a warm smile to let her know how much it meant to him, before he turned back to Alexis. He paid no mind to her words he understood that she was not of her normal state of mind. He just stayed at her side doing his absolute best to make sure that she was comfortable.
He could hair the bar maid talking to Alexis telling her that it was nearly time. Though this was something very important to him he never took his eyes off of Alexis's face. He wanted her to be able to see him, and hopefully feel safe knowing that he was there for her. He continued to wipe her for head trying to keep her cool. He knew that he could spare her the pain, but he worried that it would effect the child so he didn't.
It was only when he heard the cry of the baby that he felt safe taking her pain away, and healing her. He would show off one of his powers that he had hoped to keep a secret, but he felt safe letting his family know some of his secrets. The nail of his index finger turned into the sharp claw of a large cat. He took Alexis's arm, and he cut it with the nail. Then he cut his own rist, and pressed the gash to the one on her arm letting his blood mix with hers.
He took his arm back and his wrist healed itself as did the gash on her arm. What would have taken her nearly a week to fully recover from would now only take a few moments. Just enough time for his blood to go through out her body. Only then did he turn away from her as his son was put into his arms the claw disapeared. He reached over, and pulled Petra to his side while cradeling the child in one arm easily.
"You're a big sister now kiddo." He said kindly, and he kissed the top of her head. Then he turned to his future wife with a smile. "Do you feel well enough to hold your baby boy yet?" He grinned at her knowing full well that she was already feeling fit as a fiddle. He Jack riddle had a family. Who'd of thought the merciless son of the dark lord a family man. As out of character as it was he couldn't have been happier.

Petra smiled at Alexis as she told her that’s being there was enough. She could that Alexis was in pain so all she could was let Alexis tighten her grip on her hand. She kept her eyes on Alexis since that was the only safe place to look at. She was still young and now being through this she didn’t know if she wanted a baby. Alexis was in so much pain it almost not worth having one. She wince a little when she heard her adopted mother squealed in pain. At that moment she really didn't think it was worth it. She look up when she heard a baby crying. “It’s a boy.” She heard the maid saying. She got a baby brother. She look up at Jack and saw his index finger turning into a claw. Her dad then cut Alexis arm and then his; using his nail. Then pressed both cuts together. At first she was shock and well confused at what he was doing. She wasn’t quite sure what he just did but she will ask him about it later but not right now.
She went to Jack side and smiled at the baby. He was so cute and tiny. “Hello, little brother.” She said softly to her little brother that was in her dad’s arms. She now knew how her big brother felt when he first saw her. He felt a closeness that only sibling can feel and protective over her little brother. She was now a big sister and she will do her best to be one. “I’m your big sister, Petra.” She said as she touched the baby’s cheek affectionately.
She look back at Alexis. She was looking better then she did a 15 minutes ago. Usually it takes hours before someone look as well as Alexis did.

Alexis’s continued to watch Jack, despite how tired and exhausted she was. Seeing his actions didn’t surprise her as much as it should have. The claw ripped right through her skin, causing the blood to quickly trickle down her arm and as it did, Jack repeated his actions only clawing his own arm. Alexis remembered the day they first slept together, they had both caused quite a mess which resulted in Alexis being hurt, and that only left Jack to heal her, revealing his powers. So, this was probably why she wasn’t that surprised by his actions. As their blood mixed, Alexis’s allowed a small sigh to escape her lips. She could feel herself getting better already, all her exhaustion had disappeared, as did the pain.
Pushing herself up off the table, she looked at Jack, her eyes scanned him wearily. Alexis’s held out her arms slowly, not really thinking of what she was doing. “Give me my son Jack.” The young brunette whispered softly, wanting to hold the baby that she had been carrying for the previous nine months. He was perfect, just how she imagined her son or daughter to be.
Moving over to Petra, she placed a small kiss on her adopted daughter’s forehead, “Thank you, for being here when I needed you the most.” Tilting her head at Jack, and then gazing at her son, Alexis’s mind worked silently, making sure to keep her fiancée out of her mind. “Jack, let me see my son.” She demanded looking at him.

Jack gave Alexis a weary look. Something was off, and he knew it. She knew something, and she was trying to keep it out of her mind. He couldn't be sure of what it was. All he knew was that things could go very wrong very fast. He had to know what she knew. He shot a warning glance to Petra. At the moment both Jack, and Alexis were her adoptive parents, but little did Alexis know that her name was not on the papers.
Petra was Jacks daughter no matter what, and no one could take her away from him. He knew that Petra loved him, and that she would stick by his side no matter what. He just hoped that things wouldn't go to badly. He didn't want her to see to much. He didn't know whether or not he could trust Petra with his secrets yet, and that wasn't only his decision to make. He would have to speak with Cassandra about it.
Suddenly Jacks eyes widened at the thought of his sisters name. He quickly brought his mind away from the subject. Even though he was skilled at occlumency there were other ways to hear a persons thoughts, and he did not like to think about his secrets unless he was absolutely positive it was safe. He handed his son to Alexis.
Immediatly after he did so he put his hand on Petra's shoulder. 'Somethings not right. Be prepared.' He sent the thought to his daughters mind as he stood up in front of Alexis. His eyes were suddenly hard, and with an audible click the door to the bar locked. His eyes were on his fiances face. "What are you hiding from me Alexis?"

Taking her son from Jack‘s grasp, she looked at him with a small smile, continuing to shield her mind from any unwanted intruders. Tracing her finger down his soft cheek, she looked up at Jack, attempting to remain calm and collective. But Jack was not that stupid, he had known her long enough to spot the difference, the difference between content and confusion.
Cradling her son in her arms, the baby remained silent, unlike many new born children. Things where turning bad, the tension in the air was now noticeable and Alexis’s reminded herself constantly that she had to go, just get out this place with her son. Her steel blue eyes scanned the area, looking for the nearest exit, thinking of a worthy excuse, “I think we should be heading home, I need the rest.” It was obvious that Alexis’s was not nearly as tired as she should be but it was worth a try.
Managing to smile once again at the small glance she gave her son. Pure perfection, she was sure of it, and he was all hers. Then, turning her head to look for her cloak, she spotted in hanging on the chair and approached it, “What time will you be home at?” Alexis’s asked, sounding casual.
Just as she made her way over to the chair, Jack stepped in front of her, blocking passageway and a faint click signalled the door being locked. Feeling Jack’s eyes on her, she looked down at her child, “Jack, you’re delusional. I’m hiding nothing, I’m just tired and need my rest. Now unlock the door and I’ll see you at home.” Alexis’s snapped confidently, panicking inside though.
