It was around 12'o'clock in the morning, at it was almost pitch black. Wade was casually walking down the sidewalk with his wand in hand, with a simple spell it was lit at the top so he could see where he was walking. Usually he wasn't scared or nervous to walk alone at night, but he was now because of all the talk and activity of the Death Eaters and dark magic. To try to make him a bit less paranoid he decided to start whistling. He put his free hand inside his jacket pocket and strutted on his way.
He tried to just keep his mind blank so he could head home; or if he was to think he'd think of his sister or his new term as the Astronomy Professor. It started to work, until he heard someone tick a stone behind him. Panicking he whipped around- held out his wand so he could see better, and asked, "Who's there?"

Midnight. Not exactly the best time to be dragging your feet home slightly tipsy. Great! She should’ve listen to her father when he said ‘Don’t walk home intoxicated, it’s dangerous.' He was possibly right, she had heard many tales about women walking home and disappearing or simply walking home, drunk and alone and injuring themselves while they did so. “I shouldn’t have went…I shouldn’t have even lifted those bottles of fire whiskey.” Mumbling to herself under her breath she tried to keep herself occupied despite the fact that a man was walking slightly ahead of her whistling, obviously not noticing her.
Drunk. Stumbling slightly, for a moment she thought she had broken her heels but after pausing for a single second to check, a smile crept onto her lips once she realized her heel was still secure. Continuing to walk rather hurriedly, she kicked a small stone and it rolled across the pavement finally grabbing the man’s attention. With a swift movement, the man was facing her with his wand directed towards her. Holding her breath, Brooke’s eyes widened ever so slightly as she took small steps approaching the man but she didn’t speak yet. She had wanted to see if she could identify him before answering.
Who? Squinting her chocolate brown eyes slightly, she smiled. “Hello?” At least he was a wizard, she always found muggles a lot more dodgier that wizards. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. The name’s Brooklyn, Brooklyn Zabini.” Smiling softly, she hoped the man would accept her apology. Maybe then she could have a harmless conversation while making her way home.

Shit! Pulling your wand out at some random person wasn't the smartest thing to do, (nor was having it out in the first place) for all Wade knew, she could have been a muggle. But by the looks of her she had to be at least a tad bit tipsy, which could work good on his part- perhaps she didn't notice that he was holding a wand, or whatever. Well she apologized, so she couldn't be all that bad, plus she didn't seem freaked out by his wand- but he still didn't drop his guard.
'The name's Brooklyn, Brooklyn Zabini,' Wait, Zabini? He recognized that name, he swore he saw some shop with that name at Hogsmade. He stood there puzzled for a moment until he remembered the shop's name. "Oh! Do you happen to work at Zabini's Designs, do you?" He hoped she'd say yes, he really hoped she wasn't some random muggle. Then he might have some explaining to do. But then again, if she had magic blood, she could be a Death Eater. Wow there I go again, being all paranoid. I really need to calm down.

Work. Still remaining to smile, she tilted her head to the side. “I would be the owner.” Her career always seemed to be brought into conversation but she didn’t seem to mind all that much. Trailing a hand through her brown curly hair, Brooklyn began to walk slowly but then came to an immediate halt. “So, are you going to tell me your name or are you the mysterious type of guy who doesn’t share much?” He didn’t seem like that kind of guy in Brooke’s opinion but she shouldn’t be judging people by appearances.
Chill. Leaning against the brick wall, the witch stared at the male curiously. Should she try to at least start a conversation or should she remain quiet? It was never in Brooklyn’s nature to remain quiet especially when she had been drinking. “Do you live around here?” Okay, that was an usual way to start up a conversation but maybe if they started talking, they could start walking and then by luck she’d have someone to accompany on her way home and that meant there was less of a chance of her falling on her face and breaking a bone or two.

Wade flashed a smile, "Ah, I see, well I work at Hogwarts as an Astrology Professor," He could never help himself with telling people where he worked, as it seemed to come up in just about every conversation with new people. Augh, how rude of him, he never told her his name. He lowed his wand, politely so it wasn't shining in their faces anymore. "Oh, my name's Wade Corner, nice to meet you." He held out his hand, waiting for her to take it.
'Do you live around here?' Wade smirked as she asked that question. "Sure do, I live over that way ." He told her while pointing south. "It's about a fifteen minute walk, or so...Why do you ask?" Wade had definitely recovered from his scare earlier on and became his normal curious, innocent looking self.

Wade. So he was a professor? An Astrology professor, something she was absolutely crap at when she attended Hogwarts. Although, she was sure it would have been pretty good if she had any interest in it. It must be an interesting profession. Once he lowered his wand and finally introduced himself, Brooke grinned. “Nice to meet you too.” Accepting his hand, she shook it lightly and then slowly dropped her hand to her side. He seemed like a pretty nice person but she was only judging by first impressions.
Home. Watching his actions while he confirmed that he lived around here, she watched as he pointed south. Great! “Well I don’t live too far away, about a ten minute walk in the same direction. Maybe I could be some sort of company?” Brooke asked raising an eyebrow at her suggestion. Well what was the point in trailing behind him in silence when they could be conversing with each other.

Wade nodded as she took his hand and shook it, "Likewise." Maybe she wasn't as tipsy as he first had thought. He listened as she told him that she lived quite close to him. He cocked his head as he studied her face, just to make sure that he hadn't ever seen her around before. Nope, never. It was strange because Wade always takes walks around the neighborhoods around his house, to get exercise. He was sure that he would have seen her around before now. "Are...Have you just moved here or something?" He asked, since that was the only thing he could think of. He failed to think that maybe she just was never out when he was, but Wade always jumped to conclusions. Well, maybe he was right, maybe not.
He felt more comfortable around her when she asked if they could walk home together. It would also be less...frightening to walk home alone after dark. Note to self: never walk home alone while it's pitch black. "Sure, that would be great." He grinned at her again before starting up another conversation. "So what's got you out so late?"
