Candy was something that Dom never got at home. Her mother never liked her eating those sweets. Or chocolate because chocolate was just messy. And her mother wouldn't have that. But Dominique got to eat it whenever she went over to families' houses. There was always candy there and since her family knew she never got candy at home they sort of spoiled her. And now before she went to Hogwarts she had to stock up on candy. Hide it from her mother at home and eat some of it without her mother seeing it. Now in Hogsmeade she had to get some candy. And opening up the shop door Dominique smelled the sweetness right away.
The shop was filled with people. All different ages from first year students to young adults who Dom knew for a fact were out of school. Surprisingly she saw none of her family. Which would be a first. And the shop was small so she knew for a fact that none of her family was here. She pushed her way thought the crowd and emerged near the every flavored jelly beans. Something that she liked since she was tricked with them so many when she was little. And by now she knew how to pick out the good flavors.

You'll be on my mind
Cynthia was enamoured with a boy, a boy she just met. She didn't know much about him, but she did know he was just about the worst singer south of anywhere, that he was blonde, attractive and his name was Scorpius. Her cheeks tinged as she thought about their rather different meeting. She had been swept off her feet in a way she hadn't expected to, in a way that was so forgien to this Prefect.
However, Cynthia couldn't help but wonder if this was an act of drunkeness because she could smell the Firewhiskey on his person. She shook these thoughts out of her mind as best as she possibly could as she changed into a rather plain outfit and tucked a daisy behind her ear, letting it rest between her honey hued brown curls. Cynthia Eleanor Hay walked out of the shared condo, as she hummed a song to herself. Her doe eyes were joyful and affectionate, and she didn't even realise it.
Cynthia bit down on her bottom lip as she caught sight of Honeydukes, contemplating whether or not she should purchase something for herself. She rolled her eyes. She had always had high metabolism and she did run after all, so it wouldn't be hard to work off a Fizzing Whizbee or two. She walked in and immediately wished she hadn't. The crowded place was all a little too overwhelming for the Hufflepuff. She looked around her, with a lost expression, before beginning to fight through the crowd to find something she liked. Perhaps a scoop of Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans.

The jelly beans were always fun to play games with. Her whole family loved them and it made for some great laughs. One time James got a vomit flavored one and he managed to hold it down for almost a whole minute! Over the years Dom has become a pro at picking at the good flavored ones. And she plans on passing down this wisdom to no one! The grass ones weren’t actually that bad anymore. Sure it didn’t taste great but it was much better than ear wax or worms. Some kids were taking ones just to see what it tastes like. One kid made the most outrageous face when it got one that was probably something like red hot chili peppers or something hot. His tongue was hanging out of his mouth and everything.
Sure there were also a lot of other things that Dom had to get also. Like Chocolate Cover Frogs and some licorice snaps. The chocolate frogs she would eat at home. They would probably not survive long there. While looking at the jelly beans Dom happened to notice a familiar face. No, not one of many family members. But a younger girl in her house. Her name was slipping Dominique’s mind at the moment but she would remember it sooner rather than later. And since Dom was a person who loved to talk she went over to the younger girl who also seemed to be enjoying the jelly beans. “Hi. Your Cynthia right?” Dom said looking over at the girl and smiling. Now she was pretty sure she was right with the girl’s name and if she wasn’t. Well she would soon find out.

Just give me some candy before I go While picked out the Berttie Botts she wanted, Cynthia flicked her big doe eyes upwards as she heard her name being said. They trailed onto a blonde girl, she looked rather pretty. Much like the girls at Beauxbatons that she never really stacked up to. "Hi. Erm. You're Deserie right?" she asked her, before shaking her head. No, this blonde was not a Deserie, but she could not remember this girls name for the life of her, which was bad because she did recognize her as a Hufflepuff, and being Prefect one had to know their fellow house mates.
"Sorry, I'm really quite bad with names," Cynthia said, giving the girl a friendly grin, before returning to the candy. She picked up the see through bag, and saw that it had only ten per cent of it filled. She shrugged her shoulders, she really didn't want much more then that. She did have to keep fit after all.

The smile on Dom’s face didn’t fault when Cynthia called her the wrong name. People always pronounced it wrong or just didn’t bother calling her Dominique. Just Dom or sometimes Domi. And since her name wasn’t that common it was just a mistake. “Close enough. Dominique.” She said correcting the sixth year Prefect. “But most just call me Dom.” Yeah so much easier than her full name. Her mother hated nicknames but what her mother didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her. Right? Right. It wasn’t that common to find females who liked every flavor jelly beans. Most thought it was disgusting. So now Dom and Cynthia had two things in common. Hufflepuff and jelly beans.
Again Dom gave the girl had a smile. Some people just didn’t have the memory for names. And sometimes it just took more than one meeting to get someone’s name. Dom was good with names because of all her cousins. Then she had to memorize all the nicknames and things. So remembering people from her house wasn’t all the difficult. “It’s alright.” Dom said going back to the candy. Now for someone who was fit and looked good. She happened to eat a lot of candy. Dominique just always found a way to work it off. “So what’s your favorite candy?” the older Hufflepuff asked the girl. Just trying to get a conversation going.
