Daniel sat alone in his office, wondering if he had made the right choice by returning to Hogwarts to teach. He missed his school days, when all he had to care about was reaching the next class on time or finishing up his homework. He missed his friends, all of whom had ventured out into the working world. Some were at the Ministry of Magic, some were off playing Quidditch for their respective teams. He was the only one of the clique who was not keen on searching for another job, instead opting to come back to Hogwarts and teach.
Daniel didn't really know anyone at Hogwarts, since the students were younger than him and the other staff members weren't around his age. The only thing he ever said to his colleagues was a simple "Hello" or "Good morning". The truth was, he felt lonely. He hadn't felt this way in ages, not since his father's death when he was in the third year. He didn't know how to make friends anymore.
Shaking his head, Daniel decided to go for a drink. He stood up and grabbed a handful of Floo powder from the pot on his desk, and threw it into the fireplace at the corner of his office. He watched as the flames turned emerald green, and stepped into the now harmless flames. He said loudly and clearly, "Hogsmeade Village!" He emerged in an alley near The Three Broomsticks, and headed towards it.
He walked through the doors of The Three Broomsticks and chose a seat at the corner of the pub, just how he liked it. He ordered a Butterbeer, which was served quickly. He surveyed his surroundings, recognising some prominent wizards, and he gripped his glass of Butterbeer tightly, wondering if anyone would actually come over and talk to him.

Clarisse Skolnick, known as Risse, swept along the high road of Hogsmeade Village just outside of Hogwarts Castle. She had had some business to take care of at the Hog's Head but because the smaller pub had questionable serving practices she chose to take lunch at The Three Broomsticks where she could be assured of having a decent meal without the threat of food poisoning.
When the hispanic woman reached The Three Broomsticks she could clearly hear the cacophany of noise that was characteristic of the pub. Smiling a sort of secretive smile she pushed open the doors and stepped through the doors. A group of drunken wizards laughed loudly at a table near the door and several witches chattered happily with eachother at a booth as they ate their lunch. All around her there were people having a good time with their friends. The smile on Risse's face slipped a little and that familiar ache she had come to associate with lonliness gripped her.
Trying to ignore the sensation Risse quickly made her way over to the bar and got the attention of the bartender. After she had ordered herself a butterbeer--no need to drink hard alcohol this early in the day--she leaned against the wooden bar and surveyed her surrounding. The Three Broomsticks had always been one of her favorite places to people watch. In a booth near the far wall two people--they looked like a couple--were busy argueing, the girl looking very pissed and the boy groveling. Just down the bar from her was a group of four wizards. One of them kept sending her furtive glances. Risse glanced discretely down at her outfit, afraid there was a stain on it or something. No, her black leather high heeled boots were fine, same with her skin tight dark skinny jeans, low cut deep blue blouse and black leather jacket. Rise cast one more glance at the wizard only to find the wixard's friends had pushed him towards her. The poor man stumbled, righted himself and edged towards her. "May I buy you a drink?" he asked shyly.
Risse smirked. Free drink? Hell yea. "Sure," she purred. The man blushed and raised his hand. The bartender served them both another butterbeer. Risse, still smirking placed her first empty bottle back on the counter and picked up the new one. Taking a sip she pushed herself up from leaning on the bar and started making her way to the back of the pub. When the wizard started to follow her, however, she stopped. "Did I ask you to follow me?" she asked, her voice sweet but hinting at something dark and dangerous.
"Well, no. But--"
"Exactly," Risse said, her voice as sweet as honey. "Good bye." Risse twidled her fingers at the baffled wizard and continued on her merry way to one of the corner booths at the back of the pub. She had seen someone there that she intended to go say hi to.
Gracefully Risse slid into the booth opposite a blue eyed boy no older than nineteen. In reality Risse had never met him before but she knew who he was: Daniel Cassells, Assistant Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts. She was a little surprised to see him sitting all alone. Shouldn't he be back at the school formulating some new way to torment his students. No matter, Risse needed to get rid of some items of a darker nature and Assistant DADA professor seemed like a good mark. "Hello," she greeted him, all sugar and honey. outfit: HERE

Daniel had already finished his Butterbeer and ordered another as he continued to look around the Three Broomsticks. The feeling of loneliness increased as he saw that he was the only person in the pub sitting alone. He watched as a group of wizards pushed another wizard towards a pretty hispanic woman, and as the wizard proceeded to buy the woman a drink. Typical, falling head over heels for a woman he doesn't know, Daniel thought to himself. He had seen this scenario so many times that he knew what would happen next. The woman would thank the man and flirt with him, and two people who entered the pub as strangers initially would leave as lovers.
He was surprised, however, to see the woman pick up her free drink and walk away, with the man following her. The woman then stopped and apparently told the man something, which caused him to stop following her. Bemused, Daniel shook his head and looked down at his drink. To his amazement, he lifted his head as someone slid into the booth opposite him. He was even more surprised to find that it was the same woman who had scored a free drink off that wizard.
"Hello," the woman greeted him in a friendly manner. Daniel's insecurity kicked in.Surely this must be a mistake, he thought, Why would she choose to come and sit with of all people, me? Unless she's hoping to get a free drink off me too? He took a sip of his Butterbeer and put it down. "Hello", he greeted her shyly, "you're not here to get a free drink off me, are you?"

Risse gave Daniel one of her friendliest smiles. Poor kid, she thought as his demeanor became shy and insecure. Of course, just because the kid was a little insecure didn’t mean Risse would treat him with kid gloves. If the kid couldn’t stand up for himself that was just too damn bad. Risse was a business woman. If people thought she was going soft she’d never live it down and would have to fight to get the underworld’s respect back.
When he asked if she was there to get a free drink off of him she almost laughed. “No,” she said. “I just thought you looked a little lonely.” That part was true. When she had been people watching up by the bar she had noticed that Daniel seemed to be the only one in The Three Broomsticks who was by himself. Such a shame, she mused, if only he was a couple years older he’d be kinda cute. As it was, Daniel was nineteen and a mark. Risse had some sensitive objects to move and the Assistant DADA professor seemed like he might have some use for at least a couple of them, especially since he was a Death Eater.
“My name’s Risse,” she said, setting her purse on the seat next to her and holding her hand out for him to shake. “It’s nice to meet you.”

Daniel watched as the woman answered his question and introduced herself. After being assured that she wasn't here merely to get a drink from him, he replied her. "Ah right, just making sure I'm not about to end up like that poor guy over there." He gestured towards the wizard who had bought her the drink, the poor man was now being made fun of by his friends. Nah, what am I thinking, none of my friends are here to make fun of me anyway. "I'm Daniel, nice to meet you as well." He shook her hand and smiled.
Daniel continued to sip his drink and look around the bar. He felt awkward, after all, a pretty woman had never approached him alone before. He decided to try and break the ice between them. "So Risse, do you come here often? I don't think I've seen you before." As he finished his sentence, he finished his drink at the same time. Daniel, you've got to stop drinking so quickly. He thought to himself. It was one of his bad habits, he tended to drink quickly and in large quantities when he felt nervous or awkward. And now, facing a pretty lady like Risse, he certainly was feeling both. He ordered another Butterbeer, his third so far and waited for Risse's answer.
