Lily could feel the pressure of the world caving in on her, she could feel the darkness threatening to eat her from the inside. He seemed lost for words, his expression glazing over slightly as he tried to find a way to explain himself. She was just as in the dark as he was, anxiety coursing through every vein in her body. Her heart beat loudly against her rib cage and though she wouldn't admit, she was terrified of whatever he was about to say. She doubted it was anything along the lines of 'I love you,' but judging from the vulnerability that was clearing shining through his dark specs, this was anything but a laughing matter. This was something that he was actually struggling to express, something that meant a great deal to him that he couldn't quite come up with the right way to convey his thoughts without having to think hard on it. He inhaled sharply causing her gaze to focus on his mouth and eventually on those wondrous, soft lips. It made a shiver travel up her spine just thinking of where those lips had been and how wonderful they had felt against her bare skin. How they felt against the nape of her neck and then traveling down her chest. She tried to shun such thoughts, knowing this was no time to be thinking about sex. Whatever Eric was about to say was taking him a lot of strength and though in any other situation, she would remain a heartless bitch and not care about the other person, this time it was different. Eric changed things, drastically and in every which way. He changed the way she viewed the world, changed her ideas about love. Could love possibly exist and she just hadn't found it until now? Could Eric really be the guy she could depend on or would he merely leave her in the dust if it came down to her or money? Feeling a pair of eyes on her, she glanced up to find her fellow Slytherin's unwavering gaze focused on her before a hand rose to rest against her cheek. The soft gesture practically made a piece of her heart break, but she kept her cold facade up, not wanting him to know he affected her in such a way. She did not like the idea that any one person could control how she acted or felt when she was around them, her heart was beating so fast she was surprised he couldn't hear it. Eventually, words spilled out, speaking of how he didn't want this to be something they did every so often, but that he wanted to see her on a regular basis. Her heart felt like it stopped, as if all of the world had stopped really, and her eyes widened slightly as she looked at him. Words escaped her and her eyes cut away before returning to meet his gaze a couple times before she quickly grabbed her things and ran from the room, her fiery red hair whipping around the corner as the need to escape trampled around inside her. She felt like she couldn't breathe, as if all the air in the world had been sucked out, and she ran until she just couldn't stop (which was at the staircase near the second floor portrait), now collapsed with her back resting against the stony wall, thoughts scattering to process what had just happened. banner made by REBEL MELON of CAUTION 2.0 |
