PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
To keep their bloodlines, pure, The Blacks-along like many other pure-blood families- tended to marry into the family in some way or another. While this has allowed them an in-bred aristocratic air about them and incredibly good, strong looks-there comes a madness. Mental instabilities, personality disorders- the Black name is like a double-edged sword. And Bellatrix is by no means the exception in any way.
Such a raw force, Bellatrix cuts an intimidating figure and possesses a beauty which is both regal and savage. Bellatrix stands at a smooth 5’9 (Of course the hair might add a few inches), with a long, expectantly thin body, making her look deceptively weak physically. Anyone instinctually self-preserving wouldn’t misjudge her simply because of her age. She does not possess the willowy weakness that some women might; she is tough and fitted with hard, wiry muscles and astonishing curves. Pick a feature, everything about her is wild. She makes for an intimidating figure, with a strong-featured face that is not without its ferocious allure; a square jaw, strong jaw line, red plump lips and again strong cheekbones. Now of course, her 14 year imprisonment in Azcaban had given the dark beauty a sort of dilapidated (well, not a sort, she is) quality about her; cheeks perpetually hollowed, no matter how much health she recovered, eyes slightly sunken and at times the red-and purple-tinged bruising will surround the socket. Her teeth would be perfect- if it wasn’t for their blackened quality that had followed her after 14 years of uncare. Sure she could fix that up right quick, she just chooses not to.
Sharp, demanding, crazed; Her eyes are deep obsidian, swallowed in darkness and with a stare with a sort of “grip” to it and glinting in insanity. Although with the recent happenings and her general unpredictability few hold her gaze for long. And of course, who could ever forget the unmistakable hair of Madame Lestrange? Wild and curly. Etched with eternal darkness, the cascade of wild curls run down to her elbows, and the sheer full thickness is enough for her to be recognized. It falls down her back, and over both shoulders to frame the smooth paleness of her face, the left side having a single thick streak of dark gray. (And depending on the lighting, it could even appear white or possibly silver) With a flawless pale pallor, Bellatrix contrasts sharply between the hair, the pallor and her lips. While not the typical narcissist, Bellatrix was severely irritated with the fact she would continue to age, even after while making her horcrux. That being so, she’d magically enhanced her coveted looks so that her skin retained its supple firmness, preventing any wrinkles before they could appear or deepen. Her attire is simple-black dresses, form fitted with always some type of corset, heeled boots, and snug sleeves, the skirt long and flowy? Billowy? Loose? That doesn’t sound like Bellatrix, but hey writer is sleepy.

STRENGTHS:
Magical Mastery:
- Bellatrix Lestrange was generally considered to be one of the most dangerous witches to have ever existed, having proven herself capable against a wide diversity of foes and leaving a trail of pain and carnage in her wake with a cackle and smirk. Lord Voldemort, who had experimented and pushed the boundaries of magic farther than they had ever been pushed- whose knowledge of magic more extensive than any wizard alive- had been Bella’s Master, love, and mentor. He’d taught and trained her in dark magic in her early years of recruitment, and even more so when he’d returned to power and she’d returned by his side. Even while deranged or psychotic, her unyielding control and mastery of her magic marks herself as a raw, lethal force. Another fun fact is that she’d no stranger when it comes to transfiguration-granted it’s uses are more warped and twisted than it was originally meant to be- but hey what else would you expect from a dark practitioner? Bella displayed the ability to transfigure part of her wand into a whip and conjure a snake around Greyback's neck which proved quite difficult in removing, all non-verbally.
Dark Arts
- Bellatrix had been trained in the Dark Arts by Voldemort himself and was a amsterful practitioner of all 3 Unforgivable Curses, with a special affinity for the Cruciatus Curse. (She wasn’t in the least bit limited to using the torture curse alone in inflicting pain, but it was just her favorite) She often boasted to have knowledge of Dark magics and spells that few could comprehend the power of- a claim supported by her status as Voldemort’s Best Lieutenant” And since no one dared challenge her among the Death Eaters after witnessing first-hand parts of what she was capable of, it only stroked the aristocratic ego of hers. Like her master, Bellatrix was capable of casting the Killing Curse with no regard for the life she wished to extinguish. Though, unlike the Dark Lord, she usually preferred to torture her victims rather than killing them straight away, doing so with such skill her victims can pass out, like Hermione Granger, or even go to the point of insanity like Frank and Alice Longbottom. Like many Death Eaters, she could summon the Dark Mark. Besides developing dark spells, hexes, charms, and jinxes, she has a masterful knowledge of the Dark Lord’s secrets of the most unknown and complex magic capable of Dark Wizards. Her master did not tell her everything- but enough to where she could further secure herself in a leadership role in the quest of domination without him, and the rest her own intellect could try and maneuver for herself. And either way, if he’d felt he’d told her too much and regretted it, should he had returned he would’ve been able to tamper with her memory- and she would have willingly let him do so.
Duelling
- Bellatrix Lestrange was an incredibly talented duellist, and defeated and seriously injured Nymphadora Tonks and Kingsley Shacklebolt in duels during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, as well as her cousin Sirius and was the only Death Eater to deflect a spell from Albus Dumbledore himself, allowing her to escape the renowned wizard. Shortly afterwards she was shown to be far more powerful than Harry, who was noted for being the best practitioner of Defense Against the Dark Arts in his school year. She also quickly and single-handedly defeated four Snatchers and Fenrir Greyback, and later killed her niece in battle. Her “death” at the hands of Molly Weasley was due to her vastly underestimating the witch, who was fuelled by grief over the murder of her son. She hadn’t actually been dueling the witch herself, but she’d been partially controlling the mind of her willing double. It would be a lie to say she’d learned a lesson from that, yes she did realize the why behind it, but her confident arrogance in her abilities still make her underestimate her opponents-well at least now she’s not so quick to do it.
- In addition, despite her years of captivity within Azkaban, Bellatrix displayed incredible reflexes that outmatched the much younger and physically fit Harry Potter; she was able to conjure a Shield Charm and deflect his own spell back at him the moment he cast it. She was also physically fit enough to throw a knife with lethal accuracy across a room to strike her target. Whilst the golden trio were in possession of her wand her duties as a Death Eater were not stalled, and yet she continued her vicious duelling streak with a wand she had not won the allegiance of, which further demonstrates her exceptional duelling skills. The Master Duelist, she’s been known to take on multiple, experienced duelist witches and wizards at once with lethal ease and frightening skill with her extremely aggressive and sadistic style using powerful dark magic to overwhelm and eliminate. Like her Master and Dumbledore, Bella was skilled in manipulating the element of fire-which also constitute the pyromania.
Wandless and Nonverbal magic:
- Bellatrix also seemed highly adept at using nonverbal spells and was capable of using spells wandlessly. She killed a fox with a nonverbal killing curse on her way to Spinner's End, in 1996. She also fired a curse at Harry, non-verbally, which caused a tank of brains to lift and tip itself onto him whilst he chased her in the Thought Chamber and furthermore fired several destructive curses at him without speaking in the Atrium at the Ministry of Magic, some of which having been nonverbal cruciatus curses. She also cast the Dark Mark and decimated the Great Hall non-verbally. She can also torture, deflect spells, cast simple charms, dark spells and other more advanced magic without saying anything. Her favorites still remain in the non-verbal Cruciatus and Killing Curses. Due to her proficiency with the cruciatus however, she can use that wandlessly as well.
Occlumency and Legilimency:
- Bellatrix is adept in the use of both Occlumency and Legilimency being able to shield her own mind and penetrate the minds of others. She had studied the magic on her own, but Voldemort had also trained her in both magics as well. Voldemort himself was perhaps the most accomplished Legilimens the world has ever seen, but she still personally preferred the cruciatus when it came to victims. By no means did that mean she wasn’t proficient in the magic though. And because of it, she can almost always tell when someone was lying-but because of her own demented and viciousness, she sometimes sees past the logic of it and ends up acting on impulses. She had trained her nephew Draco in Occlumency as part of his mission to kill Dumbledore, and the training had been effective enough that Draco was able to block out Severus Snape.
Leadership && Personality
- Bellatrix was a natural leader and took charge in a number of situations unless told otherwise by The Dark Lord, or when she wanted to test someone. One such case was the Skirmish at Malfoy manor with the Snatchers and Greyback, another being in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries; Malfoy was in charge, but when the Order arrived she fought and won her battles and took it upon herself to kill Sirius Black and lure harry Potter to the Atrium for Voldemort. Her whole character and personality and demeanor is just so strong and powerful. Master of being aggressive and strict, and she wields fear and intimidation. Even before she became the Dark Lady, she had never viewed many of the other Death Eaters as her equals, as she believed both her skill and devotion to Voldemort to exceed that of others. Undoubtedly, she considered Voldemort's most loyal Death Eaters to be those who, like her, were imprisoned in Azkaban at some point: namely, Barty Crouch Jr., and her husband and his brother. While it's unclear exactly how much genuine respect the other Death Eaters had for Bellatrix, it was clear they were familiar with her view of herself, as Travers became less suspicious of Hermione Granger, disguised as Bellatrix via Polyjuice Potion in 1998, only after Hermione took on a much haughtier persona. Besides that, she has undying loyalty, a divine drive, and strong senses of both commitment and determination. It’s just the getting her to that point where it becomes tricky. And few could rival her blood lust and the evil in her crippled soul.
WEAKNESSES:
Her mental instability and general unpredictability, remorseless/no conscience, easy to rile her if you know what to say, easy to severely irritate her. ((I.e; Disgracing her Lord will bring out the full force of her wrath, while defying or trying to blackmail her will either want her to either kill or torture you.)) The previous listed weaknesses can be double-edged though, proving to either work in her favor or at times not. Her paranoia and lack of trust could also make her quick enemies with someone that could’ve possibly been an ally as well. Her temper, like her blood, runs hot. She’s also not the most rational or level-headed of beings.
QUIRKS OR HABITS: Pyro-maniac, known for her maniacal cackles and loose fluidity when she moves. The personality/persona shifts could also be considered “quirky”.
BOGGART: A dementor; The memories and emotions they are able to bring back.
PATRONUS: Not really the light-type of witch, however should she ever require the spell her patronus would take the form of a giant serpent.
AMORTENTIA: Whatever reminds her of her Master and love.
LIKES:
- Sadistic; Inflicting pain onto others-the traumas, damages, scarring, anything- it brings her sick bloody pleasure. Basically letting herself free reign.
- Power; She has a commanding presence, able to instill fear etc. Now with Voldemort gone and having wanted her to fulfill his role, her domineering demeanor and ferocity is all the stronger. Appeasing her makes for a satisfied Bella. And if not, she’ll simply take it.
- Magic; At this point there is little more that would pertain to her, but those instances where she learns something new is like caffeine and chocolate for her. She also loves performing dramatic magic, with that flair of style whenever she can. Sparring and dueling are longed for, but no one seems to want to play with her for long. She loves playing and tampering with magic, usually dark, but magic in general.
- Murder; Borderline euphoric, like a shot of adrenaline straight into her heart, like the rush of heroin she feels in the depths of her broken soul- everytime one less “unworthy” practioner dies it’s like an angel gets their wings, or better yet a demon is born. And all for having pleased her beloved master by furthering his cause of domination and elimination. The fine line that separates pleasure from pain sears white-hot, and the after effects of such joy never fail to bring back that horrid memory, the constant reminder of why she is where she is now.
- Her Death Eaters, family; Possibly the only people who could remotely understand her and her cause, she is not completely dehumanized or mental enough to not be able to feel affection, fondness or tolerance for those rare people. She dislikes spilling pure magical blood, but should they prove to be blood-traitors they’re no longer safe.
DISLIKES
- Muggle-borns, half-bloods, blood-traitors && muggles; The only useful thing that could ever come from a muggle is servitude. Blood-traitors may find repentance for their sins. Half-bloods, should they be highly exceptional in the arts, could be tolerated. There is little to no hope for muggle-borns, like her Lord she believes they stole their magic from proper witches and wizards and must be punished for their crime.
- Disloyalty, dissention, traitors; Not much to elaborate on really. Bella is paranoid enough as it is, and she’s quite painfully familiar with the blades of betrayal. Of course she also doesn’t like it when people refuse to play along in her games, or just decide to ruin her fun.
- Disrespect; With her superiority complex and instability, not giving respect where its due makes for an easy taunt with Bella. She’s not a rational or level-headed person most of the time, and that’s even on a good day.
- Lies; Of course everyone does it, hell she even does it. It’s all part of the game she plays, but sometimes..given the proper circumstances or situation a simple lie could drive her bonkers enough to flip the switch and silence you.
- Weakness, disappointment, failure; Again not much to elaborate on. She strongly believes that the weak should suffer to become strong..or continue suffering. Disappointments and failure, in anything- whether it be from another person or something on her own part- really makes the insanity ( *coughcough violence) flare up.
- Reminders; Of her past at times. Losing The Dark Lord, it’s a never healing, constantly aching scar of a pain. The dark recesses of her mind pose a constant danger. Danger to herself, danger to others—all depends on how it affects her should she begin to think too much of it. There are times though when she can’t help it-hence the night terrors that plague her psyche sometimes.
PERSONALITY:
Bellatrix is a sociopathic, cruel, maniacal, erratic, deranged, sadistic, calculating psychopath; as mad as her master and almost as every bit as vicious and ruthless as the Dark Lord himself. With an inspiring bloodlust to rival her intensely sadistic nature, she takes considerable pleasure in the suffering of others. Mentally, emotionally, physically, it didn’t matter- she delighted in it all. Her impulses are wild and fuel the sadistic, narcissistic needs, her tendencies raw and animalistic and utterly unpredictable. She is a witch of high intelligence, but she can be easily distracted because of such impulses or tendencies, and her knowledge of the arts is unquestionable. She possesses a fierce and dangerous temper, as mad as the madness itself in her divine wrath. Merciless and cold, she takes no nonsense or foolishness from her underlings, or rather anyone for that matter, her tolerance for failures and disrespect seem to be slowly disintegrating as the years go by. But alas she remains unpredictable; she could be cold and calm, conniving in her game, but more often than not she would show just how enraged she was. In her new, higher position of power, she expects complete respect from her Death Eaters, and much like her Master, she doesn’t really care for them. She can respect their power and proficiency, maybe even grow a certain liking- but in the end they’re just her tools. And their services? Entertainment and fun, or just something she needs or wants to use. Really she could not care less what happened to anyone else as long as she got what he wanted or avoided discovery for her crimes until she felt like they needed recognizing- also showing off her selfishness.
Most things nowadays for her as sorted into terms of power, and how she could manipulate or use it. Because of her arrogance though, if she found a subject or the like unworthy of her attention then she paid no mind to it, so she does have an arrogance-bred ignorance.
Bellatrix was once-and still is, devoted whole-heartedly to Lord Voldemort, slavishly so. She felt because of her abilities and her loyalty- both proven time and time again, she was better than all his other followers. This was only emphasized all the more after her break-out from Azcaban, the 14 years having taken a toll on her both physically and mentally. But again, despite her cruel personality, Bellatrix was not incapable of feeling affection for others, and pain. She was deeply and hopelessly in love with Voldemort, but due to her..instabilities, true love was actually more of an extremely intensified obsessive-infatuation. To her that was her love. The pain came when he was incapable of returning those feelings at the level she had for him, but she still relished in the small, precious moments. Nevertheless, Bella is a witch of extremes, whether it be in her obsessions, her temper, or her ploys. Deep under the terrifying demeanor, Bella is capable of fear. She’s skilled at hiding such fears and worries, and can overcome most if not all when the problem arises. She does not fear death, back when her Maser was in power the only fear she possessed was of disappointing him, but she’d take his wrath, and even give her own life to him if he had so wished. She was too useful for that anyway.
Much like her family, and typical of a Slytherin; blood purity was an obsession and the pride she had in the aristocracy of her family was more than immense, rivaling even her narcissism and imperious arrogance. Her beliefs tend to be on the extremist side, but in exceptional circumstances she can be able to suppress her hatred, in exchange for..services. She’s able to acknowledge her mistakes now, but for some reason she refuses to learn from them. It’s like it goes against the wildness of her. She was not above killing off her own family members than had besmirched the family name, for taking the life of to hers meant little since she had a sinister affinity for “playing” with such life.
All in all, Bellatrix Lestrange was an extremely powerful and dangerous witch of prodigious skills and no sense of remorse or conscience to hold her back. She had been second only to Lord Voldemort and a superior among the Death Eaters. She was a master of the Dark Arts, an incredibly skilled duellist, and an Occlumens/Legilimens. Her prodigious skill was proven by her many victories over other talented wizards and witches, including several Aurors, Hit Wizards, and Order members alike. And when she’s not meant to kill her wildly sadistic lusts are enough for one to beg for death or beyond. She believes no one can defeat her individually, but go ahead- she’d simply love to see you try.
i will be rising from the ground

FAMILY Being a “pureblood” distantly relates her to many other family names in some way or another. Only the closest related to her will be listed.
Malfoys- Narcissa, her sister married into them. Aunt to Draco, great aunt to his children.
Lupins- Andromeda, her blood-traitor of a sister, married into the Tonks, and then their sole daughter married into the Lupins. Great aunt to their only son.
Blacks-Her original blood line. Distantly related maternally to the Rosier’s and paternally the Blacks.
HISTORY
Early Life;
Bellatrix Black was born to Druella Black (Nee Rosier) And Cygnus Black in the year 1951. After her came Andromeda and lastly Narcissa. Raised in the elite Black family, and as such she was given the privileged && royal lifestyle. As was the norm for the family, she was raised into their prejudice of muggles, muggle-borns, half-bloods and blood-traitors alike. She fully believed her pure-blood made her superior and royalty. Out of the sisters she was easily the most powerful of both mind and magic, and unquestioningly the most sadistic- even at that tender age of childhood. Which was partially why Narcissa and Andromeda had grown more closer with eachother than with her. Once Andromeda befouled their blood by marrying a muggle-born, Narcissa and Bellatrix’s bond strengthened and over time they had become as close, if not closer, than Andromeda’s initial bond with Narcissa.
While their parents were hard, the benefits of their lifestyle and teachings made up for it. Bellatrix really felt little if any affection for her parents, merely contenting herself with proudly upholding her blood and the pure-blood supremacy and the like. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Slytherin House. Academically, she was a quick-learner, eagerly accepting new information to further herself.
Once she graduated into the later years (5th, 6th, & 7th) She started only leaning towards the classes she’d find “useful” or “worthy” of her time. But their family’s influence combined with her conniving mind gave her a easy enough pass to do whatever she wanted-especially since she had always scored tremendously well on all of her exams.
To not shame the family name she eventually married Rodolphus Lestrange, whom of which she held neither fondness nor affection for. It seemed that only Cissy and Draco could ever bring out that side of her. And then the Dark Lord rose to power, and along with him his Death Eaters became renowned. Bellatrix, her husband and his brother were quick to pledge themselves. Slavishly devoted to her Master, she soon distinguished herself to be possibly his cruelest, most loyal and most lethal Death Eater. And then add to that the teachings he himself had given her..she became second only to The Dark Lord. Even rivaling him in her viciousness and ruthlessness.
Life As A Death Eater;
When the First Wizarding War broke out, Bellatrix and the Lestrange’s fought for Voldemort along with his other Death Eaters to do what they did best-Instill fear into the mind’s and hearts of the people through chaos, carnage, murder and pain. When The Dark Lord fell from his power in 1981, her, her husband, his brother and barty Crouch Jr. captured and tortured Aurors and Order of the Phoenix members alike. But in this particular circumstance, they had taken the Longbottom’s as hostage to torture for information on Voldemort’s location to the point of insanity and beyond. When they were put up in trial with the Magical Law Council, this torture, along with other crimes of murder, was their ticket to Azcaban.
Unlike many other Death Eaters, Bellatrix did not attempt to lie about her loyalty — in fact she proudly and fiercely proclaimed that she was loyal to The Dark Lord and that she would wait for his return. Indeed, Bellatrix was so proud of her loyalty to The Dark Lord that, during her trial before the Council of Magical Law, she sat upon the chair she was chained to as if it were a throne. Nothing but defiant and adamant when it came to her loyalty and confidence of his return- proud and cold when she began going into the horrific details of the crimes she had been rightly accused of. She fully believed because she spent 14 years in prison that when Voldemort returned she would be rewarded for her loyalty-and so she took it upon herself to bear the title of his most loyal servant. (Along with his best Death Eater, thinking herself superior to everyone else)
Second Wizarding War//Escape fromAzcaban;
In January of 1996, Bellatrix was one of the 10 Death Eaters who escaped from Azkaban and rejoined Voldemort when the Dementors defected to the Dark Lord. As a result, Bellatrix became a fugitive, but she was never captured. She did however maim a goof few or the Aurors and Order members that had been after her, and foolishly so she might add. Still, she lived in danger they would reinstate her sentence should she had been captured.
Battle of the Department of Myseries
Later that very year, Bellatrix Lestrange participated in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in a bid to steal a prophecy regarding Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, as second-in-command to Lucius Malfoy. She became enraged when Harry had spoken Lord Voldemort's name, and when he stated that Voldemort was a half-blood. Later, she briefly tortured Neville Longbottom with the Cruciatus Curse, in an attempt to coerce Harry into handing over the prophecy to Lucius. It was clear that, given the chance, she would have indeed enjoyed continuing to torture Neville to further punish his parents, along with just for the fun of it.
Bellatrix prove her magical powers during the mission when she overpowers her niece Tonks and Kingsley Shacklebolt in one-on-one duels when the Order fo the Phoenix arrived. She kills her cousin Sirius by blasting him through the veil in the Death Chamber after having apparated to shoot that oh so familiar green light shooting her disowned cousin.
Skipping away with childish madness, she taunted the Potter boy with that sing-song sentence that would forever haunt him. Harry did pursue her, enraged to the point where he used the Cruciatus Curse on her, though only succeeding in knocking her down after a second or so of pain. A malevolent smirk twisted her lips, a low chuckle bubbling out when her Master arrived and nearly persuaded the boy in doing the proper Curse- embracing the darkness that fueled the curse so he could truly make the woman suffer for killing his godfather. When Harry refused, Voldemort disarmed him and then Albus Dumbledore came into the fray. She deflected the spells Dumbledore sent her way, and only her and her Master escaped, since Dumbledore himself captured the Death Eaters that had participated in the attack.
Other interesting happenings;
In July of 1996, Bellatrix again demonstrated her affection and protectiveness over her sister when she wanted help from Snape. Once there, Bellatrix interrogates Snape and voiced her distrust of him. Bella mistrusts Snape not only because of his low birth, but also for many valid questions about his loyalty to the Dark Lord. Snape's calm, reasonable, and logical answers to her aggressive questioning rendered her dissatisfied, but temporarily without retort. Especially when Snape shocked Bellatrix by asking her to bind him and Narcissa with an Unbreakable Vow to assist Draco in the Dark Lord’s wishes. Bellatrix also assisted her nephew in his task by teaching him Occlumency, a tool he used against Snape in order to conceal the details of his mission. Bellatrix showed her obsessive loyalty to her master's cause in telling her sister that she should be proud, instead of worried.
Battle of the Astronomy Tower;
Almost a year later, in June of 1997, Bellatrix was among the group of Death Eaters who led an assault at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, after Draco had successfully repaired the vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirement. Even though Draco was not the one to kill the Headmaster-it had been Snape who’d intervened- she was still delighted with the assassination.
The Death Eaters, including Snape, escaped the castle through the Great Hall, and Bellatrix felt the need to let some of her demented pleasures free. She walked over Gryffindors’ table, breaking and kicking anything in her path after leering at a group of first years into righteous fear of her. Before leaving the castle she has simultaneously made all the windows in the Great Hall crash into fragments. Now onto Hagrid’s Hut! She displayed her pyromania and affinity for fire spells when she’d set fire to Hagrid’s Hut, squealing and laughing at her creation before Harry caught up with them. When his intentions became hostile she sent a blowback spell to knock him on his back since Snape wasn’t doing anything interesting about it. When he reminded her he belonged to their Master she has grudgingly left the two and back to her fire before the escape.
Skirmish at Malfoy Manor 1997-1998;
By the next year, Bellatrix was living with her sister Narcissa at Malfoy Manor so that she could be closer to Voldemort. She was the only resident of the manor who was actually pleased beyond measure that he was staying there. When Voldemort humiliated the Malfoys by bringing up their relative Nymphadora Tonks' marriage to werewolf Remus Lupin, Bellatrix eagerly told her master that she would "prune her family tree". When the Death Eaters subsequently attacked the Order of the Phoenix while they were moving Harry Potter out his relatives' home, Bellatrix and her husband targeted Tonks in particular. Rodolphus was injured in the pursuit, and Tonks escaped.
Soon afterwards, a copy of Godric Gryffindor's Sword was secured in Bellatrix's family vault at Gringotts Wizarding Bank on Voldemort's orders, Voldemort and Bellatrix both unaware, at the time, that it was merely a copy. Thus, in 1998, when Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger were captured by Snatchers and brought to the Manor with the real sword, Bellatrix panicked. This led to Harry thinking that there could be something else of Voldemort's in her vault — his Horcrux, Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, seeming most likely. Another mark of her decisiveness and ruthlessness, Bellatrix took no unnecessary prisoners, preferring to kill them instead, like when the group of Snatchers attempted to defy and extort her in Malfoy Manor in 1998. She interrogated Hermione Granger because of her muggle-born status, and when Ron tried to sacrifice himself instead, she haughtily told him she’d get to him soon enough since his family were blood-traitors. Bellatrix also threatened Hermione with a knife, carving in “mudblood” down her arm with her blade, after Harry and Ron escaped from the cellar with the assistance of Dobby and Ron disarmed her. While holding the knife to an unconscious Hermione's throat, Bellatrix demanded that the boys drop their wands, and then pressed her Dark Mark, calling Voldemort. However, Dobby reappeared and caused the chandelier to fall from above Bellatrix's head, prompting her to release Hermione and jump out of the way. Utterly shocked at the elf’s blasphemy at even thinking of defying, let alone harming, a witch such as herself. As the house-elf disapparated with Harry, Bellatrix threw the knife at Dobby, fatally wounding him in the chest. She and her relatives were severely punished by Voldemort for allowing Harry to escape. Bellatrix also lost her wand in the skirmish. Not long afterwards, Hermione used some of Bellatrix's hair, which had fallen onto her clothes while Bellatrix held her hostage, to create Polyjuice Potion to impersonate Bellatrix since they also had stolen her wand. This made it possible for her, Harry and Ron to steal the Horcrux from the Lestranges' vault.
Battle Of Hogwarts;
While Bellatrix was with her Master, he continued to teach her in his ways and styles, allowing her alone privy to thoughts and worries he would never voice to anyone else. When the day came for the final battle, Bellatrix and Voldermort spent the previous night plotting. He’d confided in her that something felt off, especially since his last Horcrux was his Nagini and the diadem. He hadn’t been that close to mortality in a long time. But owning the Elder wand acted as the catalyst to him wanting to prove a point sooner rather than later. But even then, he felt as if the wand…wasn’t fully his-it still refused him at times, and it was only because of Voldemorts' prowess and skills that forced the wand to his bidding. Suprisingly, Bellatrix was leaning more towards the voice of reason- begging him to see it as well. There were too many risks, unknown variables- and she did not want to lose her beloved. Or then either way, why shouldn't he want her there alongside him all the more? She was more than delighted to remain his servant, she wouldn’t take his throne, wouldn’t want anything if it meant losing him. This obsessive devotion and soul-deep loyalty was the reason Voldemort had chosen Bella for the task, why he’d trained and guided her, and why he’d named her his best Lieutenant, second only to himself. His word was final, again demonstrating his inability to love by putting his pride and power before anything else. Not to dissent against her Lord, she let it all play out.
To ensure his legacy was protected, they recruited a young woman to take polyjuice potion and therefore take the form of Bellatrix. She has never revealed how they got this woman to agree to the plan, but evidence would suggest she was heavily tortured before consenting. Skilled in both Ligilimens and its counter-part Occlumens by the Dark Lord himself, she was able to reach inside her doppelganger’s mind, even influencing it at certain points, throughout the battle. She’d succeeded in pruning her family tree of her niece Tonks. Once the battle was over and she’d learned her Lord had been defeated, she flew into a divine rage. She hunted down (insert name of someone noteworthy that had witnessed the battle), torturing the witch and penetrating her mind to find the exact memory of the final battle between Voldemort and Harry, since her double had died moments before. The scene tore her apart, scarring her down to her very soul and furthering her mental decline. She continued to torture the witch, and when her family had arrived home she did the same to them so raw she had been. She ended up killing them all, burning their home to the ground and then going into hiding. Going with her Master’s wishes she make her horcrux a human being, she did the deed and performed the darkest of rituals. The splitting of her soul didn’t have as much an effect on her looks as it did her mind. She’d been further dehumanized, whatever morals she’d possessed moot, and her lust for blood all the stronger. Physically, she did attain a new gauntness to her looks once more.
She revealed her survival to a select few Death Eaters, confiding in them her cause and purpose-her holy mission. Over time she began recruiting again, plotting and scheming to rid the world of the filth and enslave the muggles. Voldemort would not die in vain, the Dark Lady would make sure of that.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: Rohjyx hooked his thumbs into the front pockets of his dark blue jeans, a scowl on his handsome face as he watched the boring people in the city below mosey along their way, fighting to get to where they needed to go through the throng. They were so repetitive, so dull. He could never live a life like that.
"Never..." He whispered, the wind snatching his rough whisper up and yanking it away. He slouched forward ever so slightly, focusing on a couple of his fellow Assassins as they swiftly made their way through the streets. A slight smirk stretched Rohjyx's lips, lighting up his eyes with dark humor. "You poor fools," He mumbled, speaking to the oblivious citizens below. "You have no clue about what walks among you. You have no clue how truly easy to kill you all are." His smirk stretched into a full, terrifying smile, one that showed his pearly white teeth. His icy eyes narrowed and his malicious smile turned into an annoyed frown, however, as he spotted a few Thieves slipping through the crowd. They were fairly spread apart, probably didn't even know their own was nearby.
His eyes instinctively wheeled back around to pick out his family. They were safe. He nodded sharply to himself and stood up straight suddenly. He'd heard the distinctive 'caw' of one of his scouts. It was a silky raven.
"Anything?" He asked gruffly. The raven lighted down on the edge of the building and shook its head, fluffing its feathers out in a quick shake. Rohjyx growled and cursed quietly. What was he going to do? He couldn't find his guy, his victim, even with his scouts helping. Where was he!
A loud 'boom' sounded when Rohjyx punched the stairwell wall with all his might.
He sighed heavily, shaking his head, and turned back around to face his scout. The raven had a concerned look in its glossy black eyes. He shook his head at it, telling it not to worry. "Okay. Keep searching; he has to be here somewhere." He said. The raven nodded and cawed once then took to the air. Before it flew away, though, it tilted its head to the side and cawed curiously at Rohjyx, nodding to his bloodied fist. Rohjyx smirked.
"Don't worry about that, either. I'll take care of it." He said, holding it up and grinning. The raven cawed again, nodding, and flew off. He watched it until it was well away, then shook his head, amused. "Well, guess I better go get this taken care of," he said to himself, still grinning. His grin melted into a smirk and, perfectly calm despite his throbbing hand, he turned, opened the door to the stairwell, and disappeared into it. The door slamming behind him was the only sound other than his footsteps to let anyone know he was up there.
