luca made his way to the owlery, somewhere he rarely went. it wasn't because he didn't get mail, but because he was too lazy to actually go and get it. the only packages and parcels he got were the ones dropped in the great hall when everyone received their mail. this time he had a letter to send, one addressed to his father.
"robert, please send money. -L"
his writing scrawled along a piece of parchment, elegant letters, perfect. the L was large and ornate, the end, that's all. money, no emotions, no fighting. luca had already blown the lot of his money on alcohol, cigarettes and paying to have those things smuggled in. the comforts of home weren't easy to come by. robert. not dad, father. robert. cold and harsh.
no one at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry enjoyed robert's presence as minister of magic and the new rules he had put in place. the rules applied to the outside world, but even in school, luca could tell the fear of having to leave your friends, to live in your own quarter of the wizarding world was weighing on everyone's mind. gryffindors stayed with gryffindors, slytherins with slytherins, etc., very rarely did you see a couple of two different houses. even if you did, they didn't last because the guilt and worry became too much. what would happen if the minister found out that poor susy may in gryffindor was dating jonny smith in ravenclaw? as if he had the time to worry about silly little relationships that wouldn't last anyways.
luca didn't mind either. he would date and screw whomever he wanted. since the entire school was on edge, luca wanted to keep that in place and seem to be on his father's side of things. no one on the inside knew of the hatred he had for robert leblanc and he wished to keep it that way. it also gave luca more power. people didn't want to step on the minister's son's toes. and now that he was head boy, he could use this power. maybe he'd have to make a few rules of his own... and these "care packages" that he sent letters for reinforced the image that everything was fine in the leblanc household. he was sure that if kelsey and his younger brother found out he was still getting money, and living with their dad, they would have a conniption fit. he wasn't proud of it, but hey, if he could live comfortably for as long as he could, why wouldn't he? luca was being smart.
he reached the top of the stairs of the owlery and lit a cigarette. luca spotted his owl almost instantly, a solid black with bright yellow eyes. the eyes were piercing, haunting. this owl had seen a lot in the leblanc household. he knew of the beatings, the arguments, bruises, absences. everything. each time luca's eyes locked on the glowing orbs, he was haunted by the images. the night when he was cursed across the room, breaking the dining room table and his arm in the process of the flight. or the morning at breakfast when kelsey spilled milk and robert flipped his lid and destroyed the childrens' playhouse. the leblanc kids spent their childhood walking on eggshells. and now luca didn't have to. he had the manor to himself. all the money he could ask for. freedom. and he wasn't even out of hogwarts. a breeze cut through his thin t-shirt and the shiver broke the eye contact between luca and his owl. a few drags on his cigarette and he started walking to the bird to send the letter.

The best words to describe Kelsey LeBlanc was a mess because that was what she was. Then again, most of the LeBlanc children were a mess. Who wouldn't be when they grew up like they did. Things weren't always this bad. Kelsey knew that there was a time in her life that she was truly happy and not that messed up. Sadly though, all of the big changes in her life happened when she was at her peak in development and her most vulnerable. Such an effect caused her to feel the need to act out and look for the attention that she never received from her father in other ways, mainly through physical intimacy from men. She knew that what she was doing, hooking up with all these men, most of them strangers, wasn't right. However, it was like a disease for her. She couldn't get herself to stop. She knew that she wouldn't be able to stop as long as her father was in her life.
Kelsey had a plan to escape this all. When she was done Hogwarts, she was going to run away. She didn't know where she would go but all she knew was that she wanted to be far away from her father, somewhere he could never find her. It would be her fresh start. Somewhere to start over, recreate herself into the person that she really wanted to be and to not have any drama or her father's poor decisions looming over her. She would change her name, maybe Cassidy or whatever she wanted it to be. It would be her new life and she would be in control of everything. She couldn't wait for this. Two more years, that's all she had to wait.
Until she was able to leave, Kelsey was trapped in her own, pathetic world. At this moment, she was currently on the grounds, her tongue shoved down some boy's throat. She didn't really know this boy, he was a slytherin, a year older than her but other than that she knew nothing. She didn't even bother to get his name before seducing him into what will eventually lead to getting in her pants. Kelsey broke the kiss, looking at the Slytherin boy before her. "Come, on, lets go to the Owlery. We will have more privacy in there", she said to the boy, who had no objections to going to such a disgusting place. Kelsey went back to kissing him as they slowly walked to and up the stairs to the Owlery. Once they were at the top platform, she leaned against the entrance and continued to kiss him, unaware of the company inside. She didn't know if it was her sibling senses or the fact that she was getting bored but Kelsey opened her eyes at that point, seeing Luca in the owlery. Immediately, any mood that she was in to have sex left her and she pushed the snogging Slytherin off of her. "Leave," she spat. The boy gave her a look, shrugged and then headed off down the stairs. It was then that Kelsey turned to Luca.
"Hey Luca," She said, scratching the back of her neck. She had never really talked to her brother in a long time. They just, grew apart after everything that happened with the family. "I didn't know you smoked," She said, taking note of the cigarette that was placed between his lips. That was the one thing that she would never do is smoke. Something about it just put her off of it, which was probably a good thing. Once Kelsey started something, she never ever stopped and took it way out of control.
