Seventh year of Hogwarts. Most students would be thrilled about this; to go out into the real world and get a job of their choice and then eventually find someone they loved. However for Dominique Weasley she was dreading it. She will be forced to live in Scotland for the rest of her life, marry a Gryffindor and either work in a shop or be a bartender or waitress. In her opinion, she was too smart to work there. She did amazing on her OWL exams and has been a prefect since her fifth year. And now in her last year of school she was Head Girl, hell she practically ran this school. She talked with everyone, when she could get away with it. The new rules from the Minister of Magic made everyone only have friends in their houses even more now. It seemed like everyone hated Slytherin since the Minister gave that house special treatment since he was one and his children were in that house. Thinking about all of this brought Luca LeBlanc in to her mind. The Head Boy, Slytherin and the Minister's son.
How her luck managed her to get paired with him was beyond her. She had been a good student, a good daughter and now she had to play nice with the Minister of Magic's son until the end of the school year. Dominique knew she could act nice to people to get her way but with Luca there really was no benefit to being nice to him was there? Sure it would make being Head Girl a bit more bearable but his father made sure that Slytherins were higher up than everyone else. Dom was separated from her older sister now because of those stupid laws. It just didn't make much sense to her how one man, could get away with causing so much damage. There had to be more people who were against it than for these laws. But maybe Luca LeBlanc knew something about what his father was up to. She never talked to the Slytherin much before tonight's meeting but maybe if she played her cards right, he might just open up to her a little bit.
Walking down the steps to get to the first level, Dominique didn't even notice at the pace she was walking. She was walking quicker than she normally would and she knew it was due to the meeting she was about to have with Luca. It wasn't a meeting it was more like: 'hey, we gotta chat about what we have to enforce while we walk around the castle making sure everyone is behaving'. Either way Dom had been the one to extend the greeting and told him to meet her here. Sure they would have more than this shift together the rest of the school year, probably would have all of them together being the Head Boy and Girl but whatever. It wasn't like they needed to talk even though that was one thing that Dom loved to do.
She had picked the meeting spot right outside the Prefects' lounge. She knew Luca would know where it was and she had heard more than her fair share of Slytherins complain over the years how far the towers were away so she decided to come almost all the way down to his level. Who knew their patrol might just end upstairs and Dom would be much closer to her common room. Would the Minister of Magic like that his son was Head Boy and had a Gryffindor as Head Girl? Maybe he didn't have that much control over Hogwarts yet to decide on who could be Prefects and who couldn't be. But the rules have only been in place for five years, give it a little more time and she was sure the Minister of Magic would also be the Headmaster of Hogwarts. If that day ever came, there would surely be some sort of uprising.
Finally, getting down to the first floor, Dominique straightened herself out a bit. Yes, she was metting with Luca but he was still a male and she was still a veela. If she had to use some charm to make this year go by more smoothly she wasn't against doing that. When she was younger she always thought that hard work paid off but quickly she realized wear a low cut shirt or skirt and a nice pair of heels, and she could almost get just about anything. Too bad today Dominique was just dressed skinny jeans, a blue top and some flats. Normally she would wear heels but she didn't know exactly how long she would be walking around this castle.
Dominique stopped in front of the entrance to the Prefect's lounge and waited for Luca to show up. She really had no expectations from him other than she knew he was one of the quieter Slytherins; nothing bad about that probably got enough spotlight being the Minister's son. It didn't take long before she started to twirl her hair around her fingers trying not to look as bored as she actually was waiting for him. Yes, she showed up early, thinking maybe that he would too. It seemed like she thought wrong but then she did hear someone coming, she looked up, expecting to see Luca but wasn't going to be surprise if it was a student out past curfew.

luca had never been one for the usual formalities. sure, he seemed to be a prim and proper young man, but he hated to be in formal meetings, or to do things by the books. when he received word that Dominique weasley wished to have a meeting with her fellow head of Hogwarts, he instantly dreaded it. what could she possibly want? in the past five years at Hogwarts, luca learned not to trust other people because their intentions never turned out to be the greatest. every student, apart from the slytherin house, hated his father, who was the minister of magic. it made it extremely easy for luca to choose his friends and stick within his house to network. but since everyone hated luca’s father, they hated him as well. he honestly didn’t mind it. he never had to be the one to turn down a date because the girl was from another house, he never had to pick and choose his friends, the decision was made for him. deep down, luca wished he could be friends with most of the people in Hogwarts, because they weren’t bad people.
his thoughts then turned to his father, Robert leblanc. every problem luca had seemed to stem directly from his father being the minister of magic. he had never gotten along well with his dad, but him taking over the ministry was the final straw in his eyes. he made crazy rules, continued to be a dictator, but now his cruelty was spreading all throughout the magical world and it no longer affected just the leblanc family. no one at Hogwarts knew about luca’s disdain for his father, a fact that he liked to keep hidden. as often as he got new things, clothes, brooms, wands, books, anything he wanted, to the outside world it looked as if they had a strong relationship and were nothing but a happy family. luca was still living at the leblanc estate, despite the fact that his mother and siblings had fled shortly after the divorce, and it solidified the image that he was desperately trying to uphold. once people started to figure out that he hated his father with every fiber of his being, relationships would crumble and he would be thought of as a traitor. alienation wasn’t something that luca wished to deal with at this point in time.
as he started to get ready for the meeting with Dominique, he couldn’t help but think how funny it was that the head boy was slytherin and the head girl was Gryffindor. what would his father think? would he try and change it? luca didn’t think his father would go far enough to butt into the business of Hogwarts and start making even more rules that everyone hated. there would most likely be an uprising and he knew full well that his father couldn’t handle it. head girl… Dominique weasley was a very outgoing, outspoken person from what luca had learned in his seven years at Hogwarts. he hoped that she wouldn’t start a conversation regarding the ludicrous laws Robert had put in place because he had no answers. she was also a veela, so she would no doubt try to use that to her advantage. what was this meeting about? yeah, it was their first of the new term, but was she going to try and add or take away rules that they both had to agree on? he definitely had no trust when it came to fellow students, including slytherins. the one thing that his father had done for him was to make him cautious, to keep everyone at arm’s length. you never got burned, you never had to commit. he decided that if she was going to use her veela to her advantage, he better play up his looks, too. everyone knew he was a lady player, and he got what he wanted so why would this occasion be any different. luca hated the feeling of paranoia, so he took a deep breath and finished getting ready. lacing up his doc martins and pulling his jeans over the tops, he took a quick look in the mirror. his imperfect hair looked perfect, his v-neck showcasing his muscled physique, even his cologne showcased his model looks. he was finally ready.being late was something that luca actually enjoyed. it gave him the feeling of control, making people wait and then seeing the look of relief on their face when he showed up. the feeling of being needed. every date he ever went on was the same. he made his way slowly to the prefects lounge, where he was told to meet Dominique. he heard footsteps up ahead, knowing it was a student out of bed, he stopped walking and pulled a cigarette out of his pocket. lighting it with the end of his wand, he took a short break. the deep inhale brought a calming sensation through his body. smoking was prohibited in the building, but hey, he was a slytherin and he had power. of course he was going to use it. a thought popped into his head. maybe Dominique would think it was him coming down the hallway. the anticipation of meeting him would have increased instantly. luca cracked the ornate window he was in front of and felt the cool, refreshing air run over his sun kissed skin. a few more drags of his cigarette and it was gone, leaving him wanting more. he had stalled enough and decided to finally arrive at his destination.
the distinct clicking of his shoes on the ground would probably give him away and as luca rounded the corner to the lounge, he saw the shape of a girl. he couldn’t help the fact that he was admiring her figure, the flawlessness of her face, perfect blonde hair. it was no matter, they were both here for business and business would be handled.
“sorry to keep you waiting,” luca began in his eloquent, articulated way. “I caught a few students out of bed.”

Head Girl was something Dominique dreamed of becoming since she was young. Her father had been Head Boy when he was at Hogwarts and her mother had quite a name for herself at Beauxbaton. Dom has always dreamed of making a name for herself while she was at school. At first she planned on making a name for herself with Quidditch. She was a good chaser but when she tried out for the team she was cut just because there were students older and more experienced than herself. That didn's stop her from playing Quidditch she just wasn't able to play it for Gryffindor. So since she couldn't do something with Quidditch, academics was the next best thing. She spent loads of time studying and trying to be the perfect student. Fifth year when she got her Prefect badge, Dom was the happiest girl on Earth and she was on her way to following her father's footsteps. At that time she had what she thought was an amazing boyfriend, had the best of friends and had good grades. Then one thing went out of place and she didn't have the good girl reputation anymore.
Heart breaks shouldn't affect someone as much as they affected Dom. Yet she put her heart and soul into that whole relationship and he played her; played her like a fool. He embarrassed her in front of everyone and that didn't sit well with Dominique. She never wanted that to happen to her again. So since then she hasn't had a real relationships. Yes, there has been guys. More guys probably than she had fingers and toes, but her heart was still in one piece. With these guys, she wasn't rude the night after or when she saw them again. She didn't want them to hate her, she wanted to please everyone. But by now she knew how to get whatever guy she wanted. Dom knew all the little tricks and what to wear in order for a guy to take notice. Not that it took much with her little bit of veela charm but she couldn't just snap her fingers; well maybe. And with the new laws that the Minister put in it wasn't like any guys from other houses wanted to be with her. Everyone took the laws so seriously when why should they? They were in school and if a relationship started in here Dom was pretty sure she wasn't going to end up marrying them. The law made sure that in order to get married you had to have been in the same house but that didn't rule out dating? Was everyone so scared now that they might fall in love at such a young age? Dominique didn't want the Minister to chose who and she couldn't marry so maybe after she graduated she would slip out of Scotland and go stay with some family in France. The Minister didn't have control of that area and if she found someone there her child could go to Beauxbaton. And not have to deal with the Mister and the stupid house rules. But in her lifetime the Minister would be taken down, the Order or some resistance would start up again. And she would be there with them.
The castle at this time was a thing of beauty. Dom has seen it at almost all hours but right now, before the sun was going down, it was beautiful. The scenery around the castle looked like something off of a painting. It was one of those moments where she wished she could do something artistic other than dancing. She would have loved if she has taken an interest in painting or drawing when she was younger. Dominique was definitely too impatient now to take it up but maybe she would have a friend who was a rather good artist. As she continued to wait for Luca she could just imagine the tick tock of a clock in her head. If this was how it was always going to be she should just bring a book with her. And she knew there would more times after this since they were both Head of Hogwarts. The two of them had control over the Prefects and the student body, the students looked up to them and would hate to be caught breaking the rules with one of them around. If they wanted any control of this school they would have to get along because if the students saw them bickering back and forth, they would think they could get away. Sure, Dom wasn't going to be a stickler about the rules and favor Gryffindor more than anything. Since Slytherin was favored in almost everything else. But she was actually a bit excited to see how her and Luca would get along. The only thing she good see good about him so far was that he was attractive. And by attractive she meant,' why haven't I slept with him yet?'. She knew he had a reputation for being a bit of a player but that didn't bother her. Dominique has pretty much the same reputation but she stayed within her house, just because well she was a Weasley so most Slytherins didn't like her for that and the new laws. She didn't have much of a problem with sticking with Gryffindors but then she saw them all the time and some made it awkward. But if she hooked up with the Head Boy hopefully that wouldn't be awkward. She would do her best to not sleep with him but if it happened, hey it happened. It wasn't her goal for tonight though. No, Dominique was here to talk business and make sure they got along this school year.
The footsteps which grabbed her attention turned out to belong to a student out of bed. So much for Luca being on time. The young male student saw her before she even got a word out of her mouth and froze on the spot. "Get to your common room before I take points away before your house even has any to begin with." Dominique said not wanting to be a bitch right away. The young boy nodded his head and ran up the steps. So he was either a Ravenclaw or a Gryffindor, she didn't even take enough time to notice his robs. If that young boy was so petrified to see her that obviously meant that Luca wasn't on his way since if he was doing his job he would have said something to the kid. Good start to the year.
Dominique went back to twirling the ends of her long, blonde hair around her fingers. It was more interesting than starring at the wall in front of her. It wasn't long before she heard footsteps again and this time when she looked up she saw Luca coming. Quickly she looked him over and he surely looked good for their meeting. If this was any other time, Dom would wish she was wearing something nicer, a bit more revealing than her simple top and jeans. But was anything that simple on a veela?
It took a lot of effort for Dom not to roll her eyes at his obvious lie. Good way to start out this business partnership. "Must have been the same student who passed by me," She said with a small smile."But either way, thank you for meeting me here. I just thought we should go over our duties and what we can do to make this year go as easily as possible." Dominique smiled again but put a little bit of the charm in it. If that got males to feel more comfortable around her she had no problem using it on Luca.
