He was willing to do anything for this mood to disappear. It didn't matter what it would be. Crime? Sure. Sex? Why not! Detention? Come now, you're thinking too small. His mood was more sour now than it had been in ages. He couldn't hold on to a single thought. His business was suffering because of his constant aggitation. His current lover had turned her back on him, since he was always filled with venom. His life was all but crashing down around his ankles. And for the first time, Eric couldn't do a damn thing about it. He felt helpless, and if you knew Eric that was a bad thing.
He sighed and threw the goblet across the room. The shattering made him fell great, but he feared that the stupid troublemaker of a ghost might hear so he remained silent. Eric pressed his back against the cold stone of the wall and slid down to a sitting position. Doing something about his mood wasn't going to happen in the empty room, but it was all he could manage at the moment. His mind crawled with bad intentions, and the damage he wished he could cause at the moment.
Sure, he was upper echelon in the school. His heritage gained him many things above others, but he just wasn't content. He was, in fact, bored to death with all the normalcy floating around his head. It made him cringe in pain, his head reeling from the bad mood that haunted him. Something had to give, and something had to give soon. If it didn't he would simply go mad. He kicked out and toppled over the nearest desk as if he was a child throwing a fit. His head still hurt, and his mind wandered off without him.
The loud bang of the desk hitting another didn't even register to Eric. Instead, he was thinking hard of how to overcome these emotions and make things right in his life. What could he do? WHO could he do? Another rippled of pain moved through his muscular frame as he moved to stand. Another kick sent another chair crashing to the ground. He no longer cared about the noise, or who might hear it. In fact, Eric cared about nothing at all. Nothing.

What was she doing? She didn't know. Savvy had started walking as soon as she woke up, in the hopes of outrunning her problems. It wasn't working, they kept catching up with her. It was only September, and her family was already calling upon her shortcomings. Earlier today she'd received a very unpleasant owl from her mother and stepfather containing the subject of her grades. Merlin only knows how they found out about them, as marks weren't sent out for weeks. With a weary sigh, she'd read on about how that one less than exceptional test score was ruining her chances of a future. Just as easily they could've sent a howler, but they did have a reputation to uphold. With a roll of her eyes, she'd burned the letter.
This behavior was very unlike Sav. Usually a nasty word from her dear mummy would send her into a teary haze, but not today. Today she was too full of resentment to deal with the ongoing disappointment her mother provided. Today she needed to get as far away from her demons as possible. She felt something similar to recklessness, but much more subdued. Wandering, she found a quiet spot near the lake and hurdled rocks at the murky water for as long as she could possible stand. Exhausted, she found it solved none of her problems- plus she may have strained her shoulder.
She let out a sigh, and let the tears fall down her face. What a disappointment she was. Her mother was right, not only was she useless, but she also lacked fire. There was no passion in her, and more spine could be found in a jellyfish. She hated herself for it, but it was just her nature. Standing, she wandered for a while until she numbed herself. Instead of self-loathing, she just felt nothing. After a bit she reached the third floor. Why was she here? The common room was nowhere near, but she really didn't want to be surrounded by people. Happy people, loud people, people who wanted to talk about themselves only. Didn't they know she was selfish enough to go around?
Scowling, she pulled open the heavy wooden door to some unused classroom without even thinking of it. She stepped in quickly only to find shattered gold, by the looks of it, at her feet. What looked like the remains of a cup was scattered on the dirty floor. She muttered to herself "wonder how that happened." With a simple shake of the head she looked up only to jump about a foot and press a hand against her chest. "Good God, you scared the shit out of me." She said with a friendly smile. The boy in front of her was in her year, she recognized. A Slytherin. Her smile stayed intact, though she was internally pleading he wasn't an asshole, one of the merciless snakes who tormented her so. A sideways desk was in front of him, apparently kicked over. Wide-eyed and before she could stop herself she blurted "Did you do that?" 'Of course he did, stupid!' She thought. Determined not to come off as too much of a priss, she offered another soft smile. He was about to kick another chair when a noise behind him made him twirl, his wand coming out in hand as a voice cut through his silence. His eyes narrowed and he looked to see who would dare come up on him while he was suffering from this mood imbalance. A pause in action showed him that it was a small female, with striking features, standing in the empty classroom. He eased his wand away as he watched her, the question gone unanswered between them. Her smile went a long way to calm his nerves, and it went an even longer way to make her look... He couldn't put it to words, but there was an attraction there that he would not have expected to show out of his current state of mind. He nodded to her and looked away to the chair he had knocked over.
"Yeah, it was me." He had no idea why he answered, other than the fact that she had asked and there appeared to be no harm in answering. Her smile kept playing through his mind, and he couldn't help but to take another look at her. He wanted to actually see her with this glance. She was smaller than him, but that wasn't saying much. She was thin, but well formed. Her age wasn't clear from her appearance, but if he had to guess he might say she was a year younger than him, if that. She was pretty, but actually more than pretty. She was hardly plain, that was for certain. He had no idea who to describe her, other than the honest fact that she appealed to him in a way he wouldn't have imagined. She made him... feel. It wasn't just in a physical type of feeling. He was well in control of his desires, even though the blood rushed through his veins when he glanced at her lips when she smiled. To kiss her might be bliss, like a forbidden fruit ready to be sampled.
His breath hitched in his chest, and he looked away. "I didn't mean to scare you. I was just, irritated. You know how it feels to be in a bad mood, and no way to focus out of it? Well, yeah. That was me today, until a few moments ago when you..." When she what? He had no idea where his normally well controlled words were about to take him. His eyes kept moving to look at her as if she was a fascination, and she was. Was it lust? He knew it could be because she was very attractive, but there was something under that base emotion. A sense of wanting, needing. He couldn't recall if he knew the girl, but he knew there would be no way he could forget her now. If only he held her name on his tongue. "Yeah, so. What's your name? If you don't care?" Was Eric sounding awkward? He was, if only slightly. This was so unlike him that he had to blink in curiosity. She was something else, and he had to know exactly what.

When his wand slid away, out of view, Savvy let out a small breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. Something about the way he looked troubled her, like he was facing internal conflict, or was unsure of himself. Of course, he was a Slytherin, and after lookin at him once over she could tell he had more money than her little Hufflepuff mind could comprehend. He was arrogant, she could see it in his posture and in his eyes that her felt he was entitled to more than the rest of the population, and while he seemed angry, he didn't strike fear in her heart like some of his housemates did. You could learn quite a bit about someone just by their appearances.
He was much taller than she, but that really wasn't saying much considering how tiny she was. Muscular and attractive, but so arrogant. From a simple once over she could tell that he hated feeling helpless, because he was used to being in control. She'd have to be lying to say she wasn't immediately attracted to him, but they were worlds apart. Any relationship between them would be a fling, and nothing more. She had been taken advantage of enough times to know this to be true. Noise. While she had been stuck in her own little world, he had began talking to her. He was answering her question, she realized. "Yeah, it was me."
This wasn't news to her. She pursed her lips slightly and nodded. "I didn't mean to scare you. I was just, irritated. You know how it feels to be in a bad mood, and no way to focus out of it? Well, yeah. That was me today, until a few moments ago when you..." He looked away from her when he said this, and her eyes widened in surprise. She never expected him to respond to that, especially not in so many words.
It filled her with pleasure, the possibility that perhaps he wasn't as arrogant as she'd thought. In fact, he seemed quite sincere, and maybe even a little... nervous? Was it possible she made him nervous? Of course not. She was plain. Nothing about her stood out, as her mother loved to tell her. From her long brown hair to her knobby knees, Sav was plain and simple as could be.
"I know all about that. Although, I do think i'm a bit too small to throw desks." She said with a slight chuckle. A grin lit up her whole face, because she really did know about those bad moods. In fact, she'd been in one today! "Yeah, so. What's your name? If you don't care?" Yes, he was definitely nervous. It shocked her, really, because she didn't have any kind of affect on boys usually. Her self confidence was virtually non-existent, and it showed. Usually in situations like this (not that she'd been in many), she'd cower and stutter. Maybe if she'd have a little more faith in herself.. Savvy's grin stretched even further and she extended her right hand to shake. "My name is Savvy Ridan. And yours?" Her head tilted slightly out of curiosity, and a wave of brown hair followed suit.
