--------When my world was crashing all around me all my hope was gone, I was drowning in darkness, barely hanging on
It was a typically day for Petra, well not so typical. It started out to be so, but that one letter change the course of her day. She was in the middle of homework when her father's owl appeared with a letter. Who knew that one sheet piece of parchment would have her life decided for her already. She might be over reacting. And it would be a lie if she said she didn't think it would happen. If anything she was bred to married someone her father pick in order to keep the blood line pure. So why was she acting like this? Why did it seem like her life was ending?
She look at the letter again. It only stated who she was going to marry and that at all cost she must make it pleasant and happy event. Easy for her father to say, but he wasn't the one who will have to put on a fake smile, though she was certain Eric will be aware that her smile was in fact, a fake one. She wouldn't be able to fake anything, not a smile or happiness. He could read her like a book. One thing she hated about him.
Petra could remember her summers that she spent with him, though at first it was force. They slowly realize that the only way they could survive summers was just to put up with each other. They form a friendship one that wasn't common for little kids but nevertheless a friendship. It was more of a business friendship. He knew how to get things she wanted and since she was easy to please at a young age. The young boy didn't find it a financial burden to supply Petra with candy for her services or help. If anything it was pretty cheap.
If anything her friendship with Eric, now was more of 'she used him and he used her.' No feelings or affection come into play in their relationship in the present time. They grew apart over the years though he still seem to find things she wanted and she will trade for, but that wasn't friendship. He didn't find her interesting anymore or he simply just didn't care about her as he use too. It didn't mean that they weren't friendly with each other or they didn't have they moments. They had plenty of them but they weren't really friends or very open with each other.
She place the letter beside her. She was glad that she was the only one in the common room. She wasn't in the mood to deal with the younger students. The thought of others seeing her break part wasn't so appealing either.
Petra stood up. She needed to find a place where she can scream, or cry, or something. She couldn't pretend everything was alright. She wasn't alright. At this moment she was to tired to play the quiet, well-manner girl. There are some nights when she will wake up in the middle of the night in a panic, knowing that this was her life; easy, simple, and plan out. Now she's awake and feeling like the world was crushing her alive.
Was that really her life? Everything was plan out for her. Who she will marry. Who she will be friends with. Was this really what she will amount to? Nothing more then being a perfect wife and hostess.
She finally made it to outside, the cold breeze hit her face but she didn't feel anything. It wasn't till she made it further away from the castle that she notice she didn't have a jacket to warm her. Second time she made that mistake. She shivered as she got closer to the Owlery. This was the only place that would be empty and no one near to hear break apart.
She sat down on an empty crate, forgetting the fact she was in deed wearing a very pricey day dress. It wasn't all that bad. Eric was a good looking guy. She cared for him, she knew that much. But she had change and grew up. She was no longer that little girl and he wasn't that same little boy either. They grew apart and she had accepted that they did.
She felt like crying but that was for the weak and it was pointless. It didn't solve anything, that's for sure, but why did she wanted to cry so bad now? She got up and started to kick things. The last time she threw a tantrum was when she was a child. She finally kick something with heels that was to hard and fell to the floor. She felt wave of tears, that she was finally letting go, go. She didn't have a miserable life and others might think she was being spoil, but they don't have they life plan out for them. They didn't have to walk a fine line and be perfect all the time. She had to do all that and she lost herself in the process.
She sobbed harder and she find it harder to breath as her chest tighten. She curl up in a ball, wrap her arms around her knees and weep into them. Why did she feel so hopeless?
Notes: I wanted make Petra into a emotional wreak. She's usually a strong girl but I felt bored and rping Petra as like her world is falling apart seem like fun. Though I don't know how Eric will do with seeing her in that state since its not common thing to see the her cry.
