NICKNAMES: Red, Wolf-girl, Wolfy, Puppy, Pup. DATE OF BIRTH: 19 July, 2001. GENDER: Female. AGE: Twenty-one. LINEAGE: Half-blood (werewolf). SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual. HOUSE: Ravenclaw. YEAR: Alumni. OCCUPATION: Shop Worker. WAND: 11 3/4 inches, Ebony, Phoenix Feather, Pliable. CANON: Yes. SCARS CAN COME IN USE HAIR: Ruby's hair is a dark brown, rich and full, and inherited from her mother; though it can be said it could be from her father as well. Most would say that it's mostly blackish-brown, which she isn't going to argue with there, because that's basically what it is. Darker than dark brown, but lighter than black (black was which she truly aimed for when trying out hair modification spells at first, but this was the result and she ended up loving this the best). Newly added to Ruby's locks are bright streaks of red that can be found mostly on the lower layers of her hair, a homage to her name, Ruby. She didn't do these herself, for fear of turning her whole head the bright red color, but she had a skilled friend do them for her instead. EYES: Miss Greyback's eyes are a strange color for her to have indeed. One would think she would get her father's cloudy grey eyes, or her mother's hazel brown ones, but no... Ruby Greyback got her very own emerald green eyes. It is often rumoured that like her hair, she changed the color of these with a modification spell, but no. It's just not true at all, and she'll rip your head off if you say otherwise. Ruby's eyes are all her own, a recessive trait from her ancestors that came through with her genetic pool. The only time you will ever see them change is on the nights of the full moon, where they go from green to a bright golden topaz as she changes forms. WEIGHT: 125 lbs. Skinny enough for a werewolf, but there is the tonage there that comes from having the extra agility and such that comes with turning into a beast. HEIGHT: Coming in at 5'8'', Ruby is one of the tallest girls in her family. She doesn't really mind it, though she does have to be careful when wearing high heels, so she doesn't stand out too much with her tallness. SPECIAL MARKINGS: Ruby's markings aren't really those that she likes to show off. They're mostly scars from when she changes. The only real marking that she's proud of is her celestial tattoo on her wrist, which she got the instant she moved out of her mother's house. DRESS SYTLE: Ruby's style has changed dramatically from her younger days as a Hogwarts student. Now that she is out and about in the real world, her style has gone from a former gothic style, to a now more mature style, still accented with her usual red features. She tries to please everyone, especially her mother by the way of her dress style. It's become more mild-mannered, well cleaned shirts, skinny jeans, and fabulous jewelry, though she still holds that flirtatious feel that she once had with her former wardrobe of mini skirts and crop tops. FACE CLAIM: Meghan Ory. BEST WIZARD IN THE WORLD! BUT HE IS A BIT MAD, YES. STRENGTHS: Intelligence, Heightened senses, Charming, Lying, Wit, Loyalty, Compassionate, Adaptable. WEAKNESSES: Lycanthropy/Werewolfry, Prideful, Insecure, Feels Inadequate, Independent, Stubbornness. GOALS: Finding someone who won't care that she's a wolf, getting a better job. DEMENTOR: The day her mother first chained her up in the cellar and left her there for the three days of the full moon. She spent the days begging to be let out only to no avail. BOGGART: Her mother killed by the beast that she turns into. PATRONUS: Dog (specific: Siberian Husky); Happiest memory: September first, the day she finally left her mother's 'clutches' for a place of freedom. OVERALL: • Protective. Ruby is a protective young woman, though no one really knows where she gets this from. Wolves aren't normally protective of anything, unless its their 'mate' or their pack (which are really rare in the first place). So where on earth does Ruby Greyback get it from? Ruby's protectiveness stems from the fact that she wants to keep her friends around her, even if she is what she is. She wants to show them she can protect them from the monster inside of her, and with the monster as well. Ruby also believes that she got this from her mother, even though Isabelle wasn't much of a mother for her, except feeding and clothing her, she still protected Ruby from the outside world's thoughts about her, and the harsh criticisms that came with being the daughter of a feared werewolf that destroyed so many lives. • Rebellious. Though she may seem like a loyal little pup to most eyes, you clearly do not know the real Ruby. Ruby's rebellion comes from the fact that she was kept under a strict roof, with a very strict mother. She'll speak up against any authority figure that puts her or one of her friends down, which can make her a target for higher powers. While this has toned down, due to her maturity level rising with her age, it is still very much present, and she'll speak up against authority if she believes it to be misplaced or pointless. Due to the above trait, as well as her stubbornness, she will refuse to back down in this if she senses any confrontation brewing, and can get herself into trouble through this. • Flirtatious. Ruby is a very flirtatious girl, and this was evident by her fifth year in school. She had come to be known as the femme fatale of Hogwarts back then, with a reputation that preceded her. However, she did have standards, and if you didn't come close to those standards, which was a lot of times, then you didn't get Ruby. It used to be that Ruby would get with everyone. It was just in her nature. But now, there are only a handful of guys and girls out there that Ruby will flirt with, considering she wants someone who will love her for her, and not run from her because she transforms into a dangerous creature every single month. • Curious. Naturally, Ruby is a curious young woman, she's spent a lot of time indoors, rather than outside of them, so she wants to see the world in all its glory-- no matter what boundaries are in place. She longs to know more about the outside world, having known only small bursts of freedom in her mother's house, and at Hogwarts. • Tempermental. Being a werewolf, Ruby Greyback has a temper like no other. If Ruby is angered, she'll make herself known, with a sharp tongue and a retaliatory attitude that has made her more than a few enemies. When caught up in an argument, even if she herself started it, Ruby can often be taken over by her own pride, and refuse to back down as a result. With this comes a territorial side, and if you mess with her territory, or her property, she'll bound to drop the nice act fast and get mean. TRUTH, IT IS A BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIBLE THING. FATHER: Fenrir Greyback, Age unknown, Slytherin, Werewolf. MOTHER: Isabelle Lucas, 45, Slytherin. SIBLINGS: A lot of half-siblings... OTHER: N/A. WIFE/HUSBAND: N/A. CHILDREN: N/A. HOMETOWN(S): Chelsea, London, England. OVERALL HISTORY: Conception // Birth. -- He was charming from the start. Like a wolf. Little did Isabelle Lucas know that's what he was. He had caught her eye the moment he had walked into the pub where she was working. She didn't know what he was doing there, and he didn't seem to be the type that was from around the Chelsea district. Isabelle figured he was just passing through, and so the young barmaid decided to wait on the scruffy-looking man that had come in from a cold night out. Instantly there was an attraction. Not the sort that you would think. An animal attraction, a lust that couldn't be denied between either of them. Though she would obviously play hard to get and deny him until she had him wrapped. And that was what happened. Finally, the night happened, and several other nights happened after that. She stuck around him, and his 'pack' as he called it-- still unaware of what he truly was. She was happy, and he was satisfied. That is until he was tired of her. He left soon before Isabelle found out that she was two months pregnant with his child. She searched everywhere for him, clues, remains of what was left. All she could ever find out was a name, Fenrir Greyback. It was then that she realized it. She remembered the posters from when she was a child, the rumours about the savage beast that would claim children as his own, steal them away, making them creatures of the moon. And when she found out that she was carrying his child, she had half a mind to dispose of it. But there was something inside her telling her to keep the baby, and so she did. The pup, as she had designated it from then on out, was born in July, only a week or so before the full moon that month. Isabelle was nervous for her child, and when the nights came, it was everyone's worst fear. The child was a werewolf. Early Childhood // Childhood. -- Ruby Alexandria was named for her mother's grandmothers, not to mention the infant seemed to take a liking to the colour red a few days after she was brought home. She would always snuggle with the closest thing she could find that was the colour red-- so it was deemed a nickname by all those who knew about her (which wasn't many people at all, considering her condition). Isabelle had a hard time adjusting to motherhood, not just because her child was a werewolf, but because she was a single mother out on her own. Though they still lived in the Chelsea district, living off of Isabelle's tips and the remainder of her trust fund, it was still a hard life for mother and daughter. Her first displays of magic was around the age of three, a little younger than most, but still, Isabelle was slightly proud that her witch heritage was still in top form. She had been out back in the garden, playing in the snow, when suddenly spring had begun to appear. Snow began melting, and flowers started to bloom and grow. Other incidences occurred, plates flying, Ruby trying to levitate the cookie jar down. Add a budding witch to the werewolf pup's list. Ruby grew up obviously not knowing who her father was, even if she did have his last name. Isabelle was determined to keep her paternal lineage out of the girl's life, saying that he ruined her life by giving her the curse. Obviously that curse was the lycanthropy that she had inherited from Fenrir. Even at the youngest of ages, Ruby didn't see it the way her mother saw it. To the mind of the child, she turned into a puppy, an uncontrollable wolf puppy, but a puppy nonetheless, and she liked it. Sure, it hurt when she changed, but she didn't mind that either. It was all fun and games to her. That is until others found out about her. She hadn't realized that even after peacetime, werewolves were still treated like they usually were, even with the new laws that defeated the prejudice against the species. Even with that, she was still a normal girl. Hogwarts Years. -- As she got older, things seemed to get a little bit tougher for Ruby. Her mother was becoming harder on her, as well as she felt alienated with her friends' parents discovering what she was. She was alone, her mother kept her cooped up in the house all day, and when the wolfstime (full moon) came about, she was locked up in the cellar, chained to the walls. She endured this for several years, starting from the time when the beast was starting to get a little more unruly. The only thing that made it better was her Hogwarts letter on her eleventh birthday. She had heard all the stories about her mother's time there, and she wished that she would get to go as well, though she feared that she wouldn't be able to because she was a werewolf. However, early on her eleventh birthday, there was an owl at her window, holding a thick parchment envelope with her name on it. Opening it, she screamed and shouted and danced around. However, she had to convince Isabelle. It took several days, but she finally did it. She was going to Hogwarts. The trip to Diagon Alley would probably prove to be disastrous. It was here that Ruby found out about her parentage, as well as her older siblings. Needless to say, it was just... bad. Fast forward a few months to Platform Nine-and-Three-Quarters, where she said good-bye to her mother. Hogwarts was a different place, and she seemed to like it. It was open. There was no cities, no cellars, no anything. She knew though that she would have to be chained up at the full moon, but she figured where ever they would put her, it would be better than the tiny cellar she had come accustomed to by that point. Ruby had dreams of being sorted into Slytherin house, like her mother, but her inner smarts and outer beauty got the best of her, and she was sorted into Ravenclaw House instead. It wasn't all that bad, and Isabelle was still proud of her for making it into a house other than Hufflepuff (though it did put a bit of a damper on her love for the color red). Hogwarts wasn't exactly eventful for her though, it was school. The only eventful times she had were being ushered to the secret place where she could change every full moon, or getting into fights with her older siblings that were already there. She did well on her OWLs, and placed well in her NEWTs. However, she had no idea what she wanted to do, even though her career was already supposedly set for her. After Hogwarts. -- With the new rules the ministry had set into place, Ruby was forced to move out of her mother's house, and to Wales where all Ravenclaws were immediately established. Though she wasn't entirely a big fan of this, only because of the now limited career choices she had, Ruby was entirely thankful to get out of Isabelle's house. She knew she had limited options to her career field though, which slightly sucked on her end. She was a werewolf, and she knew that people would not want her to be around them all that much, which scratched out healing and teaching positions (besides, she isn't that great with kids in the first place, so like hell she would want to teach). Instead, she wanted to focus on something simple, easy, and a relatively friendly and relaxing environment. With that she decided to go to Hogsmeade, near Hogwarts, and look for something there. The Shrieking Shack had basically been her second home, and when she was a human trapped in there, she would sneak out to the shops. Ultimately, she decided on working at Honeyduke's Sweet Shop, one of her favourite stores. She's been working there ever since. WE KNOW WE'RE CALLED GRED AND FORGE. ALIAS: Ciel. HOW DID YOU FIND YOU?: Spirit searching. OTHER CHARACTERS? N/A. RP EXPERIENCE? 10+ years. RP SAMPLE: She pulled the chains, making sure they were pretty much tight around her wrists and ankles. She couldn't risk getting out. Not that she wouldn't mind it once she was changed, but this was different. Ruby needed to keep the people around her safe, and away from the harm that the beast could inflict. Hardly anyone here had put two and two together, and called her out on her lycanthropy because of her last name. Biting her lip, she clenched her fists, waiting for the feeling of pain to come. Her green eyes started first when she knew that the time was coming. Blinking, they changed from their normal color, to a bright golden color. Looking around her eyesight got better and better, focusing in the dark room that she confined herself to. Then the pain. The unimaginable pain. She was used to it though. Having to go through it for the last twenty-one years made her numb to some of it, but there was something about every single bone in your body breaking that could just make one flinch and yell out. Which she did in fact. Falling to her knees, she curled up as her body started to change. Bone breaking, muscles tearing and reforming, dark red fur grew. Her face started to change and elongate into the usual wolf's face. Her body shrunk slightly, going to the frame of a wolf. As the transformation completed, she stood on her paws, howling to the moon just outside the window. Ruby awoke the next morning, sitting up, a cold sweat all over her. She looked down at her unclothed body, shaking. She was sore all over, and she rolled over to reach for the key to unlock herself. Relieving herself of the chains, she stood up with a struggle, and moved to grab the usual red silk robe she had placed near by. Her clothes were ripped and torn all to pieces, so it was a big help. As she tied it around herself, Ruby stopped at the stairs, looking up them, and waited several minutes before climbing. Her legs felt like jelly, but she soon made it half-way up, she was feeling a lot better. Heading into the house, she sighed as the sense of normalcy rushed back over her. It had been the last day of the full moon cycle, and now, she only had to wait one more month for the next one. Suddenly, as she headed to her room to dress in something more appropriate, she heard the door knock. Her head turned to look at it. Who would call on her so early in the morning? Heading to the door, she adjusted the robe, and opened it. "Oh... sir... what an unexpected surprise..." she said, sarcasm dripping from her voice, as she saw the man at the door. Ruby knew who it was, and she wasn't about to let him in either. He was from the ministry, and he always came after every full moon cycle. She stood in the threshold, her body presence telling him what she had told him a few times or more. Considering Ruby was a werewolf, and quite possibly the only one that had been sorted into Ravenclaw, she knew that her sorting would give her a career that other wolves could only dream about. One of them was a ministry position, under the Werewolf Support Services. However, Ruby had denied whatever offer he had given her, considering herself too lowly for a ministry position. Slytherins were more capable, which was why they had been given the best jobs. "I'm going to tell what I've told you a hundred or so times since I graduated. The answer is no. Surely, there must be able Slytherin wolves out there somewhere for this position...." She could hear her mother yelling at her in the back of her mind for not taking it, but still, the answer was no. She was happy as a shop girl, and she was always going to be happy as a shop girl. Why couldn't they just let up on her. (i can change anything if necessary.) |
