Ruby pulled the chains hard, making sure they were pretty much tight around her wrists and ankles. She couldn't risk getting out. Not that she wouldn't mind it once she was changed, but this was different. Ruby needed to keep the people around her safe, and away from the harm that the beast could inflict. Hardly anyone here had put two and two together, and called her out on her lycanthropy because of her last name. Biting her lip, she clenched her fists, waiting for the feeling of pain to come. Her green eyes started first when she knew that the time was coming. Blinking, they changed from their normal color, to a bright golden color. Looking around her eyesight got better and better, focusing in the dark room that she confined herself to. Then the pain. The unimaginable pain. She was used to it though. Having to go through it for the last twenty-one years made her numb to some of it, but there was something about every single bone in your body breaking that could just make one flinch and yell out. Which she did in fact. Falling to her knees, she curled up as her body started to change. Bone breaking, muscles tearing and reforming, dark red fur grew. Her face started to change and elongate into the usual wolf's face. Her body shrunk slightly, going to the frame of a wolf. As the transformation completed, she stood on her paws, howling to the moon just outside the window.
Ruby awoke the next morning, sitting up, a cold sweat all over her. She looked down at her unclothed body, shaking. She was sore all over, and she rolled over to reach for the key to unlock herself. Relieving herself of the chains, she stood up with a struggle, and moved to grab the usual red silk robe she had placed near by. Her clothes were ripped and torn all to pieces, so it was a big help. As she tied it around herself, Ruby stopped at the stairs, looking up them, and waited several minutes before climbing. Her legs felt like jelly, but she soon made it half-way up, she was feeling a lot better. Heading into the house, she sighed as the sense of normalcy rushed back over her. It had been the last day of the full moon cycle, and now, she only had to wait one more month for the next one. She moved to the kitchen, quickly. After such a long night, she needed something to eat and drink. Her stomach was killing her, as was the rest of her body. Wasn't unusual though. Bare feet stepped lightly on the hardwood floors, making their way to the tile of the kitchen. Gracefully, she made her way around, grabbing the things she needed to make tea, as well as a few other items to snack upon until the moment of lunch time came upon her. Putting the kettle of water on the stove, she grabbed her bags and made her way to the living room, ready to scarf down whatever it was that she grabbed. Sitting down, she took the first of her bags-- chips-- and opened them, beginning to eat. Instantly her stomach felt relieved, though she knew it was going to bug her until she made a real meal.
Suddenly, the door knocked and her head turned. Who would be calling on her this early? She was completely puzzled on who it could be. Not Victoire, she was at work, or at least she figured she was at work. Looking down at herself, she groaned. Nothing but a robe, and someone had to come and pay a visit. Great. She wasn't planning on getting ready until later, only because she had a later shift at her own work. Running a hand through her red streaked hair, she stood up. Whoever it was, this attire would have to do. No one knew she was a wolf-- well, a select handful of people, but no one around here. She was careful to keep that secret. Ruby had to. Walking slowly to the door, she adjusted the robe tighter around herself, and pulled at it, trying to make it longer than what it was. Grabbing her wand off the mantle in the entry way, she opened the door slowly, and gulped as soon as she saw who it was. Her eyes seemed to go a bit wide as well, and she opened the door further to let him in. "Minister... I... I wasn't expecting company..." she said, glancing down. She had to be a good little puppy now... or else something bad could happen-- but she didn't expect herself to stay that way for too long.

The transition was not easy. In fact, there was heavy resistance but, that had been easily dealt with. For the past few years, things had gone smoothly, for the most part. There had been a few bumps of course but, those were quickly and efficiently. As of late, there were really no upsets, which was good for Robert’s end of the work. It meant less paper word for him to make Milly do for him, which meant they had more time to do things together, which he liked. Robert had made a plan to get all werewolves and vampires to work for the Ministry so a better eye could be kept on them. He did not trust them, and then again he trusted no one, not even his own family. There were a few that resisted. If they refused positions enough times, without budging their opinions, it caused a personal visit from Robert – and he wasn’t so nice. Robert would only give the resistor two options, life with a job or a slow painful death. Unfortunately, some chose the latter. It was an unpleasant business but, sometimes before he even started they seemed to give up, take their chances with the job. He was not always esteemed about doing these visits. People were always ever so resistant to things. It really was better in all their best interests to just accept the way things were and do what they were requested of doing.
A message was sent to him from the lower offices, explaining the situation with Miss Greyback. He scowled at their suggestion that Robert take care of this one. He received the request a week ago but, waited to do anything about it. It was the close to the full moon, and he wasn’t stupid. A werewolf was always at its weakest after three days of transformation. It was be easier and safer in his opinion to approach the subject then. It was early when he left for the address he was given. He Apparated from his home, to just outside the address given, and walked a little ways down the street. Robert ordered that two Aurors join him, in case Miss Greyback decided to put up a fight. He could take care of her on his own but, he was not stupid. If neighbors were around and tried to help, he did not want to be easily outnumbered. There were many out there that he knew wanted him dead. Robert stopped walking, to make sure his Aurors were at their post, before he approached the door and knocked.
Robert put his arms behind his back while he waited for the door to be opened. The sooner this could be over, the sooner he could leave and get breakfast. Robert looked at the woman with a serious expression as she expressed the surprise of his visit. “I did not announce it,” he said stiffly, glancing past Ruby Greyback into the place she apparently called home. “Are you going to leave me standing here, or are you going to invite me in?” he asked, keeping the stiff, official tone.
note: sorry it is kind of crap, lost muse. :C next time shall be better!

'Shit. Shit.' That was all she could think in the current moment as she stared at Robert LeBlanc in shock and surprise. She should've known this would happen. She honestly should have. She had rejected the Ministry enough times for the position they wanted her for. More than enough for the Minister to come calling on her himself. And on the morning after her last transformation? She was weak, and he knew this. Hell, she was slightly barely able to stand right now-- though she didn't know if it was from the shock of seeing him, or if it was because of her transformation. Maybe it was a bit of both... most likely it was the first one. Ruby knew how to stand her ground. She just had to be mentally prepared, and it was slightly obvious at this moment that she was off-guard. She felt like a cornered dog, more and more, and he was the animal control sent to come catch her.
Ruby remained silent, holding her tongue as best she could. The girl knew she couldn't talk back like she could with others. This matter was more serious. Her eyes peered past the man, eyeing the two aurors behind him. She opened the door wider, but stayed behind it. "Please come in... But I'm not prepared for visitors. It's been a rough past few days..." No doubt the Minister of Magic already knew of her little monthly secret, but she wasn't going to let it out so suddenly. "Should I let the Royal Guards in too? Or are they going to stand watch outside?" she asked, the attitude and dry humour, that came natural was coming out now, plus she was feeling a bit overwhelmed and nervous. She could feel something (most likely the beast) stirring inside her, and that was never good. "Sir... I know what you're here for, and I am sorry that you had to make the trip to Wales yourself..." she said. Ruby knew what was at stake here, and she only hoped she could pull out enough charm to make this work her way. She was a lone wolf, she didn't play well with others; as evidenced by her history with her half-siblings. Why put her in a place where she knew she most likely wasn't welcome? If not by her own kind, then by the normal humans that worked there-- not to mention, the place was filled with Slytherins.
However, she knew a Slytherin felt right at home with other snakes, so he probably didn't get what she was feeling. Sighing, she came out from behind the door, and pointed to the corridor. "The living room is down through that way. I'll dress and be back shortly..." she said, quickly leaving and going up the stairs that were seen behind her. She came to her room, breathing heavily, pulled off her robe and quickly dressed in her usual clothing-- accented with red of course. One would think she was a Gryffindor with the amount of red she had. Her clothes, her hair, her room.... Quickly putting on make up, she found herself acceptable ans hurried downstairs and to the living room. "Sorry for the wait, sir..." she said, sitting down and brushing her long hair out of her way.

Robert had barely been there for a minute and he was growing impatient. Patience was something he never had, and in situations such as this, he forced himself to be patient but, usually that failed. In most cases, he ended up using force to get his way. It is easier to get people to do what you want when they are afraid of you. “Don’t you mean nights?” he asked dryly because of course he knew. Robert timed this visit on purpose, when Ruby would be physically at her weakest. Given that the full moon was over, and werewolves only transform during the full moon at night, he was not even worried about his own safety. There was the tiny chance that she might try to resist him, start a duel but, Robert had been in plenty of those scrapes before, and so far he had done well for himself. Without any other words, Robert walked into Ruby’s house as she invited him in.
Robert ignored her royal guard comment. The Aurors outside knew exactly what to do, if they needed to do anything, and when. They were partly there for his protection but, also simply to make sure that if she tried to escape, she did not get very far if she managed to get past Robert. He looked at everything as he walked in with a scornful look, as if he would catch a disease from being there. “No you’re not,” he said, immediately, as Ruby apologised for his trip. No one was ever truly sorry. He knew she was going to make things difficult for him, and on purpose. It always happened that way, resistance was their last pathetic attempt to change the inevitable. Robert would not share the fact but, he did not mind visiting Wales. His mother had been born here, and his family had a house here that they stayed in more often than not. Robert more or less spent his childhood here, which lent to his Welsh accent, as it were. Being in the country was a kind reminder of his mother, who had been dead for some years now.
He nodded in acknowledgement as she left to dress, giving him directions to her living room. Robert waited until she was completely upstairs before he made a slow progression to the living room. He took his time, observing the surrounds of her home – just in case, he needed to know any possibly escape routes she could possibly take on foot. Ruby was gone long enough to allow him to pick a few things up, look at them, put them back on his way down the corridor and in the living room itself. Once in that room, he chose not to sit down but, to wander around, take a look at everything. His back was facing the entrance of the room when Ruby returned, causing him to turn around.
Robert ignored her apology, as he did with most apologies, and decided to just not waste any more time and get straight to business. “You’ve been making things rather difficult for certain members of my staff. While it may seem amusing to you, it is not entirely amusing to me,” he started off. It was sort of amusing to see his head henchman (they had yet to organise a proper name), come to his office, extremely irritated because he was basically talked down to, and nearly beaten by a girl – who was a Ravenclaw and a werewolf. Still, Robert had learned if you want something done right, you might as well just do it yourself. “Now, working in Werewolf Support Services is not an entirely bad job. The pay is not bad, and all you have to do is assist in the tracking over other werewolves, or answer their questions...get them registered so we know who they are, where they live, and a few minimal tasks,” he continued. Robert had begun to circle around the room as his spoke. The job was simple and easy. A Hufflepuff could probably do it but, Robert wanted werewolves there, simply so he could keep a closer eye on the few people he believed could cause him the most trouble. shall be better!

"Rough nights usually lead to rough days, Minister... I can assure you that," was the reply. Not instantaneous, but she had answered rather fast. She was almost about to say 'care to see what I mean?', but she didn't, because she obviously did not want to be charged with threatening the Minister of Magic. She'd be executed for sure. She could feel her insides twist from the nerves that were beginning to become shaken. She knew what he wanted. Oh, she most definitely knew. That stupid position. Why didn't she just take it? Oh yeah, she didn't trust anyone or anything that had to do with the ministry. She knew something had to be up. No werewolf was ever asked to work in the ministry of magic, and now they were after her? It was just... sketchy in her mind. Her face was a poker face as she thought this, and her eyes followed him as he came in.
She opened her mouth to speak, but she saw no use to it. It was more of a half-apology. She meant it but she really didn't at the same time. The woman blinked trying to come up with a response, but nothing came to mind right then and there.
On her way down, she couldn't help but freak out still. Ruby took a few breaths to calm herself down, and she smoothed out her clothes before she re-entered her living room. She did expect him to stay standing, and that's exactly what she saw when she came back in, fully dressed. Ruby knew that this was purely business to him, and he probably wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted. She had heard stories. Ruby could only pray that she could be the exception to this, but she knew that it wasn't going to be promising, or Sighing, she glanced down for only a moment before looking back up at him. Her eyes were slightly narrowed. "I don't find anything about the situation amusing Minister... I have simply denied the position. I never made any comments or jokes about it." Okay, that may have been a fib. While she didn't deliberately and intentionally say anything, Ruby did have the habit of letting her pride get the better of her. The example here being of how she talked to the past officials that stopped by. They were nothing, they were basically chew toys to her, and she let them know it, so they should think before they came back asking her such things. She should've known that the minister would be brought into this sooner or later. She just hadn't been expecting it so soon.
"Sir, there is a reason why I have declined this position. It has nothing with to do with the pay; I know for a fact that Ministry pay is probably the best out there, and I know I am one of the best trackers out there. I do understand your need for me. There aren't many of my kind out there, and I know I'm probably one of very few with the qualifications to do this job," she started. Her emphasis on qualifications meant her house status (as well as her condition). Slytherins and Ravenclaws were the in the higher class. She had been a lucky to been placed in the house that she had been chosen for at eleven years old. "There are reasons why I haven't taken this job Minister. You probably won't see them as good reasons, but I do..." She looked at him, leaning back in her seat slightly. "I don't get along with other members of my kind, or they don't get along with me; either way, the whole tracking mission is screwed, and they won't talk to me; most werewolves know who my father is, after all, he's the one that probably changed them, or they know him by former deeds. My last name is reputable, and not in the good way, you know this as well as anyone. Not to mention, there are some out there who don't want to be found, and they'll be just as dangerous as my father was. As for putting me at a desk, do you really think my potential co-workers would really not mind having a werewolf there, because I really think they would." she explained further. "I seriously am not meaning to disrespect you, or the ministry, or the service system sir, honestly and truly... I'm just saving you a world of trouble." She blinked, gulping and waiting for the response. Being an official, she knew that he could possibly have a comeback to this.
