[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 450px; height: 190px; padding: 10px; background-color: #bbbbbb;][atrb=width,160] SITE RULES TO FOLLOW REGISTRATION You may register with any name you wish. It does not make much of a difference. Once you have registered and have decided on a character, please change you display name to that character's first, middle and last names in PROPER capitalisation. Example: Harry James Potter GENERAL Please treat other IAEH members and staff respectfully. Treat a person how you would want them to treat you - not like crap. If you run across problems with another member/staff, please contact a staff member and we will help resolved the situation. Please do not take your problems with other members in the c-box as that is not the reason why it is there. Do not advertise in the c-box, this is why we have an adversing section on the site. If you wish to post an ad there, go right ahead but do no post links to other rp sites in the c-box please. If you do, you will be verbally warned. Multiple offences will result in sterner punishment. The site rating is PG-13 in accordance with Proboard's TOS. Please stick to this, we don't want this site deleted because someone was careless. Please do not ask or pester staff to become a staff member. When we fill we need help, or another staff member is necessary, we will post an announcement and there will be an application process. IAEH staff reserves the right to modify/add to the rules, plot, etc.. at any time. CHARACTERS Please keep your characters in check with their ages/year (life experiences and magic). Fifteen year olds should not be running around as alcoholics, nor should students be having sex 24/7 with each other. Social contact like that was paid close attention to by Hogwarts professors as shown in the books and movies. There is not reason for children to be doing this. Obviously, we will let students drink at parties and such but, no alcoholism, drug abuse, and excessive sex - as in relation to the site rating. As far as magic goes, please keep your character's magical ability/power in check with their year/age. Do research if you not sure what this level should be. No is perfect, everyone has flaws - so do characters! We do not accept flawless characters because that is unrealistic. Harry Potter even had character flaws. If you are going to have more than 2 characters, one must be a male. If for some reason you cannot do this, but want another character, you need to PM a staff member for approval before you make the third character. Please vary your characters. Do not make all fifth year Gryffindor girls, or something. We like to see a wide variety of characters on IAEH so, go get your feet wet and do something different! It does not hurt, I promise. Don't know what to make? Look at the character bans/ratios, canon list, and want ads for ideas! ROLEPLAYING Students are not allowed to perform an Unforgiveable Curses. While they learn about them in Howarts, they do not actually learn how to cast them. Only in extreme cases should a student use one of these curses. Characters cannot be killed by other characters unless such a plot is consented to by both parties and a site staff member is informed. There will be absolutely not be student pregnancies. Adult pregnancies are allowed, just be sure to inform a staff member. Please do not god-mod. Only if it is an npc included in your post, should there be god-modding. It is not fair to the others you are posting with to control their characters actions. When dueling/fighting you cannot say "it hit him/her square in the face" that is god-modding. Let the other roleplayer have a chance to have their character defend themselves, or fail doing so. As the site is PG-13, mild swearing here and there is allowed. There can be subtle snogging and such things that go with that but, there will be no steamy sex scenes. Please use -fade to black- or -x hours later- - something so that we'll obviously know what happened, if it is really that necessary. If you wish to do things with more details, do that on your own time and not on IAEH please. Hogwarts is in Scotland, and a majority of students at Hogwarts are from the UK. Use some of their fun lingo! Don't know any? Google it! There are some good resources out there to lend a hand with that. The word count for in character posts is 300. 300 is the minimum, no less. Please use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation in posts and applications. If you do not, and staff notices, you will be sent a verbal warning/notice to fix those things. Use spell check, that third click-able button down below there. It does wonders or, even better, use microsoft word to write your posts in first. It helps not only correct spelling errors, but grammar and punctuation too! Plus, you can save your posts just in case something bad happens and you lose one! That always sucks! Be patient with your fellow roleplayers. A majority of us are in high school/college - and neither are very easy. Plus, we have time zone differences. While we have no character limit, we encourage that you only make a suitable number that matches your ability to commit to it. If you know you are going to be busy rather soon, or something, please do not make a bunch of characters. That is not fair to you, or other members. Use your own judgement wisely. If staff thinks you have more than you can handle, we will deny applications. In addition, before you make a new character, you must have at least 5 in character posts done (five thread posts - not ooc posts or games) and be in one active thread. Once applications are posted, you have 7 full days to complete it before it will be denied. 7 days is plenty of time to get an application finished. GRAPHICS Please use real human celebrities for your playbys. No anime, cartoons, or e-net famous people. Use actors, musicians, or models - not your neighbour down the street, or yourself. Believe me, I've seen it attempted before - it just does not work. You must have at least an icon of your character. The minimum size is 100x100 with a max size of 200x200. The best size is 150x200. It is not to big but, not too small. Signatures can have a max size of 500x300. If something is bigger, or stretches pages, they will be removed without notice by staff. |
