Things in Brett’s life couldn’t be any better. He and his wife were happily married. Trent wasn’t with that filthy mud blood anymore. And the best thing of all, in his opinion, was that his son Alec, the one he was closest too, was married and blessed him with a beautiful granddaughter. Brett loved that little girl to death, her and her mother. Milly was one that he did approve of. She was a nice pureblood girl, who his son seemed to be madly in love with. Yes his eldest son was in love, but he could do better than that damned mud blood.
He was suppose to marry a very fine pureblood woman, Shiloh Smith. She was a friend of the family for years, but Trent defied his mother, and Brett by going behind their backs and marrying someone else, throwing off his engagement to Shiloh. This made him furious. Shiloh however seemed to still get around, even sleeping with his other son, while he was engaged to his now wife. This actually made Brett very angry at his eldest son, because one, Milly was a very nice woman ,and two Trent was engaged to Shiloh at the time being… Even though he was furious at his son, he promised to keep that little affair a secret from everyone but the two of them.
Pushing all those thoughts about his eldest son, and his ex fiance out of his head he knew that today was a good day to go and visit his only grandchild, defiantly seeing that Vi was out shopping today. Pulling on his black leather coat, Brett apperated to his son’s house. Not even bothering to knock, because in his opinion those house elves were too slow. Looking around he could hear laughter coming from the living room, and that automatically brought a smile to his face. That little girl could make anyone smile.
Walking around the corner he knocked on the wall right by the living room looking in at the two, Alec seemed to be no where around; he must have still been at work. “Knock knock.” He said with a grin as he stood there in the door way looking in at the two...

Milly was what you called the perfect house wife. She was loving, supportive, nice, kept things to herself, and most of all faithful. She loved Alec with all of her heart and soul. He was everything to her in life. He represented all that she needed. She also had a daughter. Sophia was the light in Milly's life. She was everything to her also. Her smile, her laugh, her everything just warmed Milly's heart. How could she have produced such a perfect child? How did she end up having a perfect life? It was just so unrealistic to her.
It was a typical day for Milly. Alec was gone for another qudditch match, leaving Milly and Sophia to have the house to themselves. Milly loved to play with her daughter. Whether it be a tea party or dolls they would do it all. Today's activity was dress up. Milly and Sophia were having a wonderful time. Milly had a huge sun hat on, a weird looking dress, huge sunglasses and a feather boa. Sophia had on a small little princess dress, a princess hat with matching little high heel shoes. The two girls laughed and giggled as they fooled around. Suddenly, Milly heard a familiar voice. Her eyes gazed up to see Brett Lott, her father-in-law.
"Brett! What a surprise! Please come in! Sophia Grampy is here!" Milly called out, waiting for her little angel to draw her attention. As soon as she saw her grandpa, Sophia's eyes just lit up. She took of, running and grabbing Brett into a small little hug.
"GRAMPY! Wha' are you doin' 'ere?! Did you come to pway dwess up with mommy and me?" Sophia said in her small three year old voice. Sophia was so adorable. Her grey eyes were just like her father's while the rest of her apperance was like Milly. Milly couldn't help but smile as Sophia spoke.

Alec’s and Milly’s relationship was exactly how Brett wished his and Vi’s started. Alec and Milly actually truly loved each other from the day they were married, while Brett had to marry just after his first son was born. He didn’t even love the woman, hell he actually despised her, for years and years. Until his second son was born, Alec. He was the one who made Brett change his cheating ways. IT was well, shocking to both him and Vi, but well it happened.
Now he was standing here in the home of his own son, who made the same mistake he had all those years ago. Alec had cheated on the best thing in his life, his wife, who was a truly good girl. She stayed home, cared for their daughter, cared for the house, and loved his son to death. That was all he could ask for. With a smile on his face he looked at his granddaughter as she ran up hugging his legs. Bending down he picked her up. “Well hello there princess, don’t you look beautiful.” He said kissing her cheek. “And hmm, I wasn’t planning on playing dress up, but if you want me too I will.” He said with a bright smile.
He was defiantly a good grandfather. Brett spoiled that little girl to death, and loved her to death. Just as her parents did, but he was sure her mother and father loved her more than he did. She was the spitting image of her mother. Blonde hair, beautiful features, but she had her great grandfather’s eyes. She was truly beautiful. Smiling at her then her mother. “How have you been Milly?” He asked as he put his granddaughter back on the ground and walked over to were Milly was standing giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
His day just seemed to get brighter when he was over here. Brett forgot about his death eater business, his eldest son who had so many issues that it was over flowing, he forgot about all of it. But at the same time, every time he looked at Milly he thought about how Alec went behind her back sleeping with Trent’s, at the time, fiancé…

Milly was sometimes worried that Alec would cheat on her. She knew that it would never happen, but it was a worry of hers. Here he was, a professional quidditch player with millions of fans. There was always star stunned girls following him around. What if one night he was on the road and temptation set in? Every time Milly would think of this she would quickly push the thought out of her head. She would have to trust Alec. She knew they loved each other and that was enough. He would never cheat on her, never. Milly had that set into her head and nothing was changing her mind.
Milly hugged Brett back and smiled. Brett was really a good man, just like Alec. She was lucky to have been invited into a family like this. Every single person of the Lott family welcomed Milly to the family with open arms. She felt like she belonged with them. She was close with everyone in the family also. It just made everything in her perfect little life more perfect.
"I have been very well, Brett! You must excuse my attire. Sophia wanted to play dress up. How about you? How are things back at the manor?" Milly asked in her sweet tone, a very welcoming smile on her face. She took a seat on the couch ushering Brett to follow her. Milly glanced over at Sophia who was head first in her toy box. Her feet were dangling up in the air as she searched for something, making Milly laugh and smile. Milly began to take off the hat, sunglasses and boa so her appearance could be a little more presentable.
"Grampy look at my dolly! Her name is Holly! Daddy got me her from paris!' Sophia said, grabbing the doll and running over to her grandfather. She held up the doll with the proudest smile on her face. Every time Milly looked at Sophia her heart melted with love. She didn't think it was possible to love one child so much.
"Speaking of Alec he should be home by now. His match was over about two hours ago. Must have been held up by his fans. Those bloody girls adore him so much. Worries me sometime, but I know Alec would never cheat. Oh look at me, dumping all my thoughts onto your lap. Silly me," Milly said laughing a little bit. It was like word vomit sometimes for her. She always thought about what she said out loud but sometimes words would escape the filtering process.

Milly was defiantly the accepted wife out of the two eldest sons of Brett. Everyone seemed to love Milly, unlike they did with Angela, No one in the family, besides Harmony, who her herself wasn’t too accepted, actually liked Angela. She wasn’t the right woman for Trent, she never would be. No matter how much Trent apparently ‘loved’ her. He didn’t belong to some no good mud blood. He deserved a beautiful pureblooded woman, much like Milly herself. But truth be told Brett doubted that Trent could find someone like Milly…
As he listened to his daughter in law explain her attire, Brett didn’t mind though. It wasn’t the first time that he walked in on his daughter in law, and granddaughter playing dress up. It seemed to be a normal thing, because well he always seemed to show up when they were playing some sort of game. With a smile on his face he just sat down besides her running his fingers over the top of his head before speaking. “Milly dear its fine. I remember coming in numerous times when yall were playing, or even when Vi was playing with Juliette when she was younger. You don’t need to explain yourself.” He said with a bright smile. “And for me, I have been good. Work has been good…”
Brett had always been a pretty honest person, even if he was a death eater. He didn’t like keeping things from people, defiantly his family, and defiantly his daughter in law. Brett was very much surprised that he lasted this long with out telling her of Alec’s affair, but there was one reason he hasn’t and it was that little girl who was standing in front of him right now. Holding up her doll. Sophia was the only reason her mother didn’t know about the affair, because if that affair did lead to them getting into an argument, and splitting up, which he knew wouldn’t happen, he didn’t want to put his precious granddaughter threw that. “That’s a very nice doll sweet heart. She is lucky to have you as an owner.” He said before returning his attention to his daughter in law as his granddaughter seemed to disappear yet again.
Listen to her go on about Alec the guilt inside of him actually started to build up more and more. How was he suppose to stand here, well sit here, and let this woman believe that her husband has always been faithful, then again, he couldn’t do that to Alec. His son trusted him, so he was going to hold it in best he could. But when she said something about Alec never cheating on her that pushed it, before he caught himself he had already started talking. “Well it wouldn’t be a first.” He said, well mumbled under his breath…
It didn’t take long for him to catch his mistake, and then he felt like shit. He couldn’t believe he just said that! He knew she heard him too. Brett automatically started to cover himself up. “I didn’t mean that…” That didn’t work; he couldn’t lie now, could he? Running his fingers over his hair again he sighed. “Ok… It wasn’t a lie. Listen, you can’t get mad at him…” he was in to deep now. How was he going to get out of this without telling her? But he had too now.
Gulping he looked down slightly ashamed at himself. “You know Shiloh right? Well before you were married, when Trent and Shiloh were still engaged, along with you and Alec, Shiloh and Alec, well they….” He couldn’t even say it... “They had an affair Milly.” That was the last thing he said before just looked down knowing now if his son and Milly slip up it was his fault.

Alec Lott wasn’t entirely feeling like himself, to say the least. He was exhausted and sore, being out on the pitch all day had weakened him greatly, he just needed to get home and rest. The only Brightside of the day had been the victory of the event that had taken place. His team, which he had been captain of for five tremendous years, had once again brought him immense pride and satisfaction. Winning the game between the Holyhead harpies had been a great success, finally making them first in the championship board, like they had been for seven years running. However while on the pitch, his mind wandered to one thing. Home.
Although Brett Lott had always been the closest family member to Alec, he always found himself with his guard up when his father was around, especially around Milly. If only he knew that his beloved father had taken his time to visit his family’s home, Alec would have left the pitch without another word. He realized that every second that Brett was in Milly’s company, was another second that his father could be blurting out everything that Alec held dear, another second that Brett could be ripping his marriage and family to shreds. But, Alec placed his trust in his father, he always had. His father, being the first and only to know about his affair with Shiloh and Alec, had came in need of his Brett’s advise and wisdom almost immediately after he had left Shiloh.
The young man had noticed he was running slightly late, but Milly was never one to speculate or ask questions, she accepted that when Alec was running late, he was simply running late. Even if Alec didn’t want to be held back, he had to buy at least a round of drinks for his team. They truly deserved it. Taking a sip of his fire whiskey, Alec was careful enough not to get drunk. He wasn’t much of a drinker in the first place, and whenever he did treat himself to a night out, he didn’t like Sophia seeing him in such an intoxicated state. “As your captain, I have to say that you made me proud. As your mate, I say, let’s get drunk!” Cheers roared throughout the bar as Alec finished his speech with a warm smile. Now, he needed to get home.
Home sweet home. Opening the door, a small smile still played Alec’s lips. The sense of victory still hung in the air around him. It felt great to be home, and to know that he was offered a months leave, since his team no longer needed to battle for first position in the championship board. That only meant, that Alec could spend more time with Milly and Sophia, and perhaps take a small trip somewhere, to escape the pressures and stresses of every day life.
Dropping his bags in the entrance hall, Alec knew the house elves would pick them up sooner or later. Now all he needed to do was find Milly and his daughter to announce his well deserved victory. Wanting to surprise his wife and daughter, Alec remained silent as he approached the main room. However, he stopped in his footsteps as a familiar voice broke through the silence. His fathers voice. “What the hell…” Alec whispered under his breath as he leaned closer to the door to hear what they where discussing.
“You know Shiloh right? Well before you were married, when Trent and Shiloh were still engaged, along with you and Alec, Shiloh and Alec, well they….They had an affair Milly.”
His heart paced, eyes widened and immediately Alec slammed the door opened., scaring his three year old daughter which instantly brought her to tears. “Molly, get her out of here.” Alec said lowly, to the nanny that usually wandered around their home helping out every now and then. Once Sophia was safely out of the way, Alec turned to Milly and his father. “Milly, I can explain…” The young man began, kneeling down before his wife with a sincere look in his eyes. “My dad…my dad is on drugs. He is a frequent user and he doesn’t know what the hell he’s saying most of the time.” Alec snapped his head to look at his father and he glared, clearly ready to tear his head off.
Alec turned back to his wife, not knowing what to say, “Milly, you must understand. What happened between me and Shiloh was years ago. We weren’t even married. I was drunk and she was there. I swear to you now, that it was nothing. And I love you, I do. Please Milly.” The young man pleaded with her, planting a small kiss on her hand as he held it tightly, afraid to let go.

Milly was lost for words. This was her worst nightmare coming true. If she would stand in front of a boggart, it would turn into this. How could this of happened? Her best friend and her fiance. She felt as though the room was spinning. This had ruined her perfect marriage. It ruined her perfect life. Everything she thrived for in life and struggled to keep was gone. Maybe Brett was lying? Then he walked in. As Milly sat there, watching her husband try to explain himself, she felt her heart break into a million pieces. It was true. He had an affair. He broke her trust and had been lying to her for years. Was her whole life now a lie? Milly knew what she had to do. She had to keep busy. Maybe if she ignored it this would all go away. Milly stood up and slightly pushed Alec away from her.
"I.. I think I will go get started on dinner now. I really must insist you stay for dinner, Brett. I'll make your favorite," Milly managed to choke out in a hushed tone. She rushed out of the room and headed towards the kitchen. As soon as she was out of sight, Milly practically ran to the kitchen. She needed to be away from them. Men. They are all the same. A bunch of cheating liars. Milly thought she had a good one. She guessed she was wrong.
As she entered the kitchen, Milly went right to work. She began chopping up carrots, boiling water and all that fun stuff you do to prepare a meal. The whole time she was doing this she fought back any tears that threatened to leave her eyes. It was all like a dream to her. Maybe it was. Maybe she would wake up and this would have never happened. However, she was brought back to reality as she dropped a huge glass pan, sending it crashing to the floor, shattering in a million pieces. As soon as it happened, Milly broke down. Tears began to flood from her eyes and down her cheeks. She slid t the floor, sitting next to the broken glass, and began to sob. Milly was never one to cry. She used to be strong and kept it together. There was only one other time she cried when she was with Alec, and that was when Sophia was born, and she couldn't hold back her tears of joy. These tears were not those of joy. These were tears of heartbreak. Her whole world was crashing to the ground and she didn't know what to do. Milly just sat there, crying for the first time in years. She did not have the strength to get up and regain her composure. For sure her sobs could be heard where Brett and Alec were. Hell they could probably be heard all around the house. SHe didn't care anymore. She just needed to cry because her husband just broke her heart.

What was happening? This couldn’t be possibly be happening. He had worked years to keep this all under wraps and within a few seconds, it was out and his world was shattered. But, Milly was the one who would make the decision, whether she would keep him or not. Alec wasn’t one to feel vulnerable, he didn’t like being vulnerable, but in this time that was exactly how he felt. Here he was with his father and Milly, wondering silently what was to happen next.
Alec was ashamed of himself, the guilt was too much to bear that he couldn’t even look at Milly, so he looked to the ground. "I.. I think I will go get started on dinner now. I really must insist you stay for dinner, Brett. I'll make your favorite," Even those words caused the guilt to grow stronger. Milly was trying to ignore everything that she was told, hoping that it was a nightmare that she would wake up from. But it wasn’t a nightmare, this was very much reality.
When his wife took her leave, Alec didn’t follow her, instead he turned to his father. “Tell me now, tell me what the hell you where thinking when you came here today.” He demanded, shouting at his father. The young man was beyond furious, he was hurt that his father had betrayed him, had went behind his back and stabbed him, revealing all to his beloved wife. “Did you come here with the intention of telling her dad?” He asked, the hurt obvious in his features. As much as he wanted to blame his father, he couldn’t. The secret was bound to come back and hunt him anyway.
The shattering of glass caused Alec’s heart to start racing again. Almost immediately, Alec ran towards the kitchen to find his wife on the floor sobbing. And for once in his life, Alec didn’t know what to do. Milly was never one to cry, he had never really witnessed her cry with sorrow, he could officially say this was a first. Walking towards her, ignoring the shattered glass he kneeled beside her and attempted to hug her. “Milly, I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry for all this pain I have inflicted upon you.” Alec whispered to her.

Brett didn’t know how he allowed himself to say that. But time it left his mouth he automatically regretted it. Now, if Alec and Milly’s marriage is ruined, it’s his entire fault. And all because he has freaking issues lying to his family. Oh he can lie to anyone else, but no. Brett Mckade Lott can’t lie to his own damn family. He is the tough death eater, but can’t manage one single lie? What was his problem? And you knew that things would get even better…
Right when those words left his lips Alec walked in. Alec, the one son that did seem to trust him with everything, and Brett just threw that trust right out the window. How as his son suppose to ever trust him again? How were things ever going to be the same? And right now, he didn’t blame his son for saying he was on drugs, because he wished that was the case. He wished that he could just be on some drug that was making him act like a fool, but no. he was completely aware of himself. That just made this whole situation even better…
Brett wanted to make things better; he wanted to take things back. But that wasn’t possible. He didn’t have a time turner, not anymore at least, and he sure as hell couldn’t use it if he did. Even though it would be better than ruining everything he just did. Standing up he just looked at Milly and then Alec. He truthfully didn’t know what to say. Yet again, it seemed that he was getting this way more often lately. Not knowing what to do… “I am so sorry.” He said looking both at his son and Milly, but it didn’t last long.
Milly seemed to be denying all of this. This was making it all worse, she even asked him to stay for supper! How as he suppose to do that? He wouldn’t ever be welcome in this house again; well at least that’s what he felt like at the moment. He felt like he didn’t deserve to be welcomed back in here. But Brett just remained silent as his daughter in law walked out and into the kitchen, and then his attention just focused on Alec.
How he looked like he was about to rip his head off. Which he probably wouldn’t even mind if he did. It would make things better than they are at the moment. Just shaking his head Brett had to speak now. His son was so angry, angrier than he has ever seen him, which was saying a lot. “No. I wasn’t planning on this! I didn’t want to tell her in the first place, the first part slipped, then I couldn’t just say anything, I am sorry Alec, I truly am… And trust me I know how you are feeling…” His words didn’t last long. The crashing glass on the kitchen floor caught his attention and he followed his son into the kitchen, only to find his daughter in law crying.
As Alec walked over to her, hug her, well attempt to hug her. Brett knew he couldn’t take this anymore. Looking at the two, he apologized yet again, and apologizing was something he hardly did. “I really am sorry… So sorry.” He said before he apperated out of their home, not able to stand there and watch her cry…

With each tear she cried Milly felt her shock wash away and settle with reality. Lying to herself wasn't going to work anymore. Her perfect life was ruined and was never coming back. No longer would she be able to look at Alec without thinking about what he had done to her. Her heart was permanently stained with the mistake of Alec. Her sobs became louder and louder as more and more the reality set in. Then her sobs were turning into anger. As Alec came to hug her, the stench of his cheating past radiated off of him and made Milly sick.
"Get away from me," Milly said in harsh words as she pushed him away. She grabbed onto the counter top and pulled herself up so she could stand. Her whole body felt weak from crying. Her tears still fell from her eyes as she stared at Alec with pure rage. Everything was a mess. She listed as Brett began to apologize for what he done, then she watched as he left. She didn't really care that he left at this point. All she could think about is what her husband had done behind her back.
"Why? Why did you do this to me? How could you do this to me? Did you love her? Did you want to be with her over me? What the fuck was going through your thick skull when you decided to cheat on the one girl who loved you more than everything else in the world?" Milly practically yelled as tears streamed down her face. Anger was boiling up inside of her and she felt her whole world crash.
"And you know what really hurts? That you kept it a secret from me all these years. Did you think that I was too stupid to find out? If you would have told me right after it happened I would have forgave you. But no, you probably went to see me the next day like nothing happened and kissed me like all is well. I probably had a stupid smile on my face thinking life was perfect! Tell me, you lying bastard, if she wasn't engaged to marry Trent, would you have broken up with me for Shiloh? Don't lie to me either," Milly said through clenched teeth, trying to contain her anger. When Milly got angry, she got angry. She would turn into a whole other person and would be scary. She knew she had to keep composer. She had to keep composer for if she didn't, Sophia would no longer have a father.

Alec could sense this wasn’t going too well. Actually, when does situations like these ever go well? Maybe with his parents, but they where different. Brett was a frequent cheater on his mother, and he was pretty sure that his mother didn’t stay too faithful to his father either, but after he was born, apparently things worked out for the best. Or that was how they explained it. Alec was pretty sure when a child was involved, it changed a lot of things, and with Sophia involved, a lot of things could change.
Alec sighed softly as she pushed him away. If she was going to behave like this then Alec could confidently say they where going no where. Taking his stand, the young man looked at her with no emotion. If she was going to be angry over the situation, after he apologized, then there was nothing else he could do in his opinion. Walking over to the sink, he poured himself a glass of water a took a small drink. Maybe if he left her alone for awhile she’d calm down.
The man’s grip on the glass tightened as she insulted him continuously. Turning his neck to look at her, his grey eyes pierced her. “I explained this already. I was drunk and wanted sex. You where too busy running around trying to arrange wedding plans or whatever the fuck you where doing and I, took Shiloh and kissed her, knowing that she’d give me what I wanted.” Slamming the glass down onto the counter, Alec was beginning to get frustrated with his wife. “If I loved her I would have left you in an instant. Nowadays, there is a fine line between sex and love Milly, even I thought you where bright enough to understand that.” He snapped angrily at her.
Then he just snapped. He refused to take her insults now. Turning on her, Alec wrapped his hand around her throat and slammed her small, fragile body against the wall. “Now, listen! I will not have you talk to me like this. You are my wife and I demand respect Milly. Do you understand?” Alec paused for a moment before continuing. “Do you think I gave a fuck that she was engaged to Trent? If I wanted to be with her, I would’ve been with her years ago. Why is it so hard for you to understand that we had sex and that was it. It could’ve been worse, I could’ve knocked her up, I could’ve fallen in love with her, but I didn’t.” Letting his grip on her throat go, Alec glared at her, “I’ll leave you alone for a few days. I’ll spend some time with my family and you can clear your head. I’ll be back for Thursday. You can decided whether you stay, or leave.”

Milly had never seen this side of Alec before. Sure he got angry, but never ever did he treat her like this. She could feel fear and sadness rush through her. It was like he was a completely different person now. How could the Alec she loved and adored do this to her? It was baffling. She did not know how to react. Her brain was telling her to yell back and defend herself, but her heart was telling her to be calm and not to make him any more angry than what he was.
"You are right. It was my fault. I must have pushed you to her. I just wanted everything to be perfect. I wanted our life to be perfect. I wanted to be perfect in your eyes. I guess I wasn't since you felt the need to sleep with her that night instead of me," Milly said, looking at the ground. She decided to admit defeat. It was best to just blame everything on her than to argue with Alec some more. She knew she wouldn't be able to live without this marriage. The only way to keep it alive was to take the blame and be the perfect house wife. Even if it was killing her on the inside. Suddenly she felt a pair of hands wrap around her throat and her body being slammed against a wall. She was so in shock that no words or screams of help could escape. Never had she thought that her husband would do such a thing to her.
"I understand," Milly said in a voice barely above a whisper. Fear leaked through her voice and her words trembled. She could feel a pain radiating around her neck where his hands were. Tears swelled in her eyes, but she fought to keep them back. When she felt herself being let go, she let her body lean against the wall. Her eyes darted towards Alec's so he could see the pain and suffering that he had caused her.
"Yes husband," Milly said in her obeying house wife voice as she straightened herself up and put on her brave face. Her eyes darted towards the ground as she walked past Alec to the counter so she could grab her wand. She swished it so the glass on the floor raised from the ground and went back to the form of the glass pan. While she was doing this, a few glistening tears fell from her eyes. Her heart was breaking, and it seemed her husband did not even care.

Alec didn’t like the man he was becoming. This monster inside of him was quickly revealing itself, and Alec was fighting to keep all these hateful feelings locked away. His sudden attack on her was only a small action compared to the feelings that wanted to escape inside of him. There was fear for his wife, what he could possibly to do her if she continued to piss him off any further. It was a shame that she never came to realize his anger issues, the things that he had done when he was angry.
“Don’t talk nonsense. I slept with her out of pure impulse. Me and Trent weren’t on good terms at that point and to piss him off, I slept her with her, and I thought of that while I was drunk, my own stupidity got the best of me.“ She was admitting defeat, surrendering from the argument that could possibly lie ahead. His wife might be weak, but she was smart, no doubt. “Milly, you are perfect. I have wanted you all my life, you are the mother to my daughter, and the children that will come. I was with her one night, I am with you every day of your life. You must understand that.” Alec had never really imagined the consequences if Milly was to find out about Shiloh, one of his best friends. He didn’t expect to be so violent towards her, but her words had ticked him off and his hands had clasped around her throat in a matter of seconds and words escaped his lips without hesitation. What the hell was he becoming?
She was afraid. Wasn’t it obvious? Guilt stabbed him like a sharp knife. He had always promised her he’d protect, but he seemed to be the only threat her in her life right now. Why was he quickly going against everything he had once promised her? Hadn’t he promised her that he would only be with her, and her only? Then why the hell had he fell into bed with Shiloh? Alec silently questioned himself.
Alec didn’t like seeing his wife upset, it was so much worse knowing that he was the one who caused her the sadness. But, he was young and foolish, she had to understand that. Alec released a small sigh and walked behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. “I’m sorry Milly…” He whispered to her, placing a small kiss on her shoulder.

Milly still felt her tension build up inside her. She feared that her husband would lay his hands on her like he done just moments ago. But as he spoke his words of love to her, she couldn't help but feel like she could have melted right there. Though she knew he loved her, she couldn't help but feel betrayed. He still cheated on her. He left a mark on her that would never heal. One right on her heart. She didn't want to say something wrong, so she remained quiet as he spoke. However, when she felt those strong arms wrap around her and his sweet words grace her ears, she felt all her worried wash away. The kiss on her shoulder was just the cherry on top of it all.
"I know you're sorry. I know it was just a moment of impulse and lack of judgement. We are only human," Milly said in soft words, turning around in his arms to look at him. Her eyes were still fresh with tears as she gazed into his eyes and realized how close she was to losing him just now. Everything was still coming as a shock to her. Milly began to cry again, putting her face into Alec's chest and pulling herself close to him. Though she was still mad, she couldn't show it. It would drive alec further away.
"You must think I am so weak right now. Most wives would fight back and throw plates or something. I'm so scared that I will lose you," Milly said as she cried, her only support being the strong arms of her husband. Milly sometimes wished that she was more outspoken and stood up for things. She was never that kind of person though. She felt it best to keep her personal thoughts inside and not voice her opinion too too much. That was exactly what she was doing right now.

Alec didn’t like being such an ass to her, it killed him really. Here was the woman, who he has loved for ten years, shouting and insulting him, even after his apologizes and explanations. He really didn’t think women where this hard to control, he was pretty sure Brett didn’t have to control his mother when she finally realized cheating was going on. Actually, come to think of it, his mother was cheating too and then decided to get up and leave. Damn, if Milly decided to choose that path, Alec would be crushed, big time. But, she wouldn’t know that, she wouldn’t know his own personal weakness.
The young man could still sense that she was hurt, breaking inside, and he wanted to stop it, he wanted to tell her that it was all lies, all of it. Bringing his hands, he cupped her chin, and with his free hand, he wiped away her tears quickly, knowing that more where on the verge of falling. “You are who I love Milly. You always have been and always will be, don’t forget that.” Alec whispered to her as she dug her face into Alec’s chest and pulled herself closer to him.
“No, I don’t think you are weak. I think you are extremely brave right now, to stand here and to face this. My mother was weak when she ran away from the problem, but she returned and she sorted it out. That was brave.” Alec cooed to her softly. It was the bed he could do. “But, I think it’s only right if I leave for a few days so you can get your head around it. I don’t want to be prodding around and hurting you anymore than I already have.” His words where sincere and true as he gazed at Milly.
